I personally think that budget was the major issue. From what i heard they had basically no time to test sounds therefore contestants had so many issues on stage

GBB 2021 was a mess. Sound issues galore, little time for most sound checks and the sound checks that did happen were hours and hours late. Look how Dice’s rounds went. It felt like Swissbeatbox was just trying to cash in. They make so much money off their videos but winners received a few pieces of gear, no money, had to pay for flights to get there. I really want to support Swissbeatbox but this year was a shitshow.
Robin didn’t have time to come up with rounds for gbb, kickback ended 3 days before gbb. All Robin had was the kickback rounds, and that’s what got him to the final there so that’s why he decided to use them. Great reaction cliff, always look forward to your videos 🙏
Yes ideally you would want to have a new song everytime but if you think about it they would need around 8 new routines ready each competition, which is basically creating a new album everytime, especially robin put a ton of work into his new routines during KBB he definitely did not have the time to create new rounds for GBB which he also has to be able to perform in a battle which is not the same than just doing a video. This is also a reason why Sxin dropped out of KBB because they also had to use a new device during KBB. Btw Bizkits second round was his wildcard. And Beatbox doesn't grant an income so I can imagine it is hard to come up with new routines for "smaller" artists
King of the groove was one of bizkits wildcards but yea robin had no time for extra tracks after kbb both of them are crazy animals on the loop. Big ups to em both and congrats bizkit for sure.
Don't let the audio issues hinder your experience of the battles. It will be a shame. Dice was the only one in the battles to have major issues sound wise

totally agree with what you said about reusing rounds people have already heard in a battle. i think an exception to that though is when a song is done in an online battle versus live in front of a crowd, and robin was a perfect example of that in my eyes. i was so amazed with how 1 to 1 all of robin’s tracks were in how they translated, so much so that the second track legitimately brought me to tears. my face literally looked exactly like saro’s lmao. again, totally get what you were saying, but I had such a powerful feeling watching both of his rounds, and it felt like you missed out on some of that with his rounds by having preconceived notions about what you wanted to hear. much love as always, hope this didn’t come across as too arrogant ❤️😅
I agree with you for the rounds that already been played before but actually almost everyone do that in gbb, only few of the big loopers came with 100% new rounds every year like Brez or Rythmind
Hey cliff, everyone has their musical preference and like you said you like the heavy drops. The judges have their preferences too, but they judge based off how well the looper executes their style. So Robin executed his musically genius style almost perfectly, and bizkit executed his “cutthroat” style amazingly as well. That’s why it was so close and bizkit won 3-2 in judging.

I've been kinda busy this week and I actually haven't watched this battle yet, so I'll be listening to it for the first time alongside you! That Bizkit drop was absolutely wild man! Azel must've jammed to it because he's a big riddim fan. Also, many beatboxers don't make that much money, beatboxing is just a passion, so some still work at normal day-to-day jobs. Idk if Robin has one or not, but that's why there's not always a lot of time to consistently put out new songs.

Yeah, unfortunately KBB ran until like 2-3 weeks before the GBB. So Robin was using his KBB rounds (which were amazing live too BTW!) big ups to Bizkit tho! my man killed it! I can't wait to see frosty's "Fall" round to come out! SO SO SO good live!
Just to clarify. The final product you're watching is not that much different than live. That comment on the the dice vs Chris theodian video was greatly exaggerated. Like extremely exaggerated. Yes the audio is noticably edited but it is not to the point where it improves the quality of the preformer. If it sounds shit live it sound shit in the video
Bizkit had his levels correct. He doesn’t use secondary devices and had his gain etc turned down to a level that didn’t bleed. He chose his high end to low end mixing perfectly. As did robin. He was in tune with his singing when everyone else had trouble too. These 2 guys showed the entire spectrum of talent in 6 min a piece total. Edit: robin was a finalist in kbb21 and they ran until to gbb so robin didn’t have time to make 8 routines more on top Of all the routines he made to go 2nd place in kbb. Bizkit didn’t compete and focused on gbb. Robin did both just because. And he said he’d never had a crowd sing his songs before and at gbb they sang with him and to him that was a win of his career and his life Also bizkit second round was his wildcard
Hey Cliff, I agree with you! I don't like when artist bring some old routines. But honestly we have to give them props, it is not the same recording a video and use the best one where your routine sounded the better, than do it live with a huge audio system and the crowd. I thought Bizkit won as well, but Robin always gives me the chills! Always looking forward for your reactions, brother!!
I'm actually glad robin brought his kbb rounds to the big stage bc so many in comments during kbb blew robin off saying his rounds wouldn't translate well to the big stage without being able to perfect it for video like in kbb and he proved all saying that wrong.
About this battle: all of the rounds were reused, SBX somehow I don't know how messed up counting the points, Brez calculated the correct placement and top 8 would be the same except with Robin being 3rd, so the battles would be: Bizkit vs Brez, Rythmind vs Frosty, Sxin vs Chris TheOdian, Robin vs Dice. As far as I remember when results for KBB were announced Robin was already in Poland

This is a hard one to judge, honestly. Bizkit brought such battle energy, and Robin... i mean, what can i even say man. Bizkit won the battle. Robin won our hearts. also shoutout to Bizkit for bein an awesome opponent in moments like this: 8:40, 9:13, even the call and response at 9:41, and the dancing at 9:50. It was just really cool to see him playing along
The technical difficulties weren't really that bad for most of the contestants battling. The only one was probably just Dice. So everyone sound wise sounded pretty great. So enjoy the rest of the battles like usual!👍
BizKit used his Wildcard routine on his 2nd round and as for Robin, of course he had to play some of his recent stuff since the KBB was just a few months before the GBB. He probably wanted to use some of his crowd pleasing ones first and wait till the next battles to showcase newer stuff. Oh and supposedly the scoring was messed up for Robin and his plaement was supposed to be 3rd in the bracket and was supposed to battle someone else, not BizKit. I think Robin was supposed to battle Dice.

No? Loop station just use beatbox as the fundamentals after thats its up to your sound design structure and overall groove. Just make sure you use your mouth to create the base sound. Also it doesnt look as wasy as you think

Sungbeats and kba did too like horrible. Chris theodian used the feedback to his advantage but other than that it was a tough time
