    Evelyn Kalebi as a 52 yr old, wife to Capt. David Kalebi and a proud mother of 4 children. They live on their 5 Acres in Mafubira zone B just 7 kilometres from jinja city.
    Evelyn did come from a farming family, her father was a civil savant and the mother was a business woman. When she grow up it seemed like that was the life she was destined to live after marrying David a pilot and running a couple of business in Jinja city.
    That all changed when one day while watching a farming show she saw a very successful farmer in mayuge district who had managed to set up a beautiful coffee and banana plantation. Evelyn was inspired to do the same and in 2018 she started farming, she planted a mango orchard, coffee, bananas, potatoes and also got some cows. For a while she run the farm with hired labour but that all changed in 2020 after the COVID 19 pandemic, the family had to lay off some workers and save the farm and Eden Rock Hotel one of the family businesses.
    Evelyn is still happy with her decision to start farming even with all those challenges, she is always looking for innovative ways to make her farm successful.
    We are learning about:
    1. Importance of Soil testing and applying fertilizers in a Coffee and Banana Plantation.
    2. How to control Black twig borer in Coffee plantation.
    3. Intercropping Bananas and Coffee and tight spacing.
    4. Farm planning and management.
