When Nintendo approached Disney and Square to get Sora in smash 4 disney gave them the thumbs up, but Nomura would not allow Sora to join smash until after KH 3 came out, and given the way KH3 ends it really makes you kind of “Hmmmmmmmm” a little bit
I love that in Remind we get to see Saix poking holes in Xion's composure. He makes sure to repeat Axel and Roxas' names after seeing them affect her. Really gets across that he is trying to help right under Xemnas' nose.

And one time while I was fencing on stage with my fencing instructor, Paul Saint Peter came out on stage to the sound of One Winged Angel and acted like he impaled the two of us with a sword. The crowd ate it up and the room was chanting Xemnas' Fandom nickname which I won't write here in case CZcams doesn't like it. But def a top 10 memory for me.
Honestly we all had the same reaction as you did watching the ReMind title screen add Kairi next to Sora. It was just so surreal to see it happen. This whole DLC was magical.
Fun fact: the voice saying "you are the one who will open the door" to sora in the dive to the heart in KH1 has been confirmed to be Mickey. So him talking to astral projecting Sora isn't too far off to be honest.
Technically, I've read many translations of the relevant KH1 Ultimania, and he only says The King and never calls him Mickey. I'm not saying its not Mickey just that I find it convenient for Nomura it npdoesnt actually say Mickey.

We get to play as Kairi in Re:Mind, so we know now that despite being a novice, Kairi is no slouch with a Keyblade. She could've absolutely clapped Xemnas in a fair fight.
Saix/Isa is so underrated. In the scene before the Saix fight, where they're talking about Xion's nature and how she has no memory, at one point you can see Saix distinctly look at Xion for a moment, and then say "No. It's not Roxas, Axel". Even when he was on the Organization's side, he was totally trying to subtly jog her memory so that she could be saved
Spoiler warning: Here’s a little wholesome info, when Saïx said Roxas and Axel out loud before Xion attacked he was purposely trying to stir up her memories so she could go back to the Guardians of Light because he was the one who was helping Vexen and Demyx give the guardians a replica for Roxas. Saïx was never evil this whole series, he only sided with Xemnas to find the missing girl and only sided with Xehanort to help Lea from the inside.
Well, there was that period of time, when he was jealous of Axel making friends with Roxas and Xion, which undoubtedly complicated things a bit, but otherwise yeah.

They really need to make another Roxas centered entry in the Kingdom hearts series. Everyone loves him and his dual keyblade gameplay is still imo the most fun in the series.
I actually laughed out loud when you said “When did you learn telepathy?” Idk why the way you said it was so funny to me. Interestingly enough Mickey’s telepathy is seen all the way back as the mysterious voice in Kingdom Hearts 1, and in Re:Chain he uses the same power to talk to Riku in Castle Oblivion. I’m glad they brought that ability back.
I never fully understood what happened at the end, until now. Sora was there. in the end he made it home with Kairi, he got to celebrate his last moments with his friends. watching the Fireworks at Disney Castle, Reuniting a friend after mourning a loss of a father, Watching the sunset and eating ice cream with friends, being there when friend gets her own identity. and finally taking the time to say "I Love You, Kairi." before he paid the Ultimate price. When I first played, I thought Sora was just never return with Kairi, and Kairi’s heart was painting sora as she remembered him like Aqua was doing with Terra and Ven, when she was trapped in the Realm of Darkness. I never thought Sora actually vanished from their world/universe just like that. I thought he was able to get kairi back, and there was just some mystical force keeping him from returning home.
That really is a heartbreaking scene.. But I don't think he ever said "I love you, Kairi" or such, he even stated directly in the game that he "still has much to learn about love" (Caribbean World). By the lips at the end, on the tree, it seems more like "--closer to home" so my guess is that he tells Kairi what he said at the very beginning of the game. "They can take your Word, they can take your heart,..." Etc

Much like all your previous journeys, this one is also top notch! Thank you so much for this Leigh, it's truly been such a pleasure to relive this journey and to re-experience all the emotions that I had when going through Re:Mind. There were so many amazing moments here, and a lot of heartbreak as well towards the end too! If you did perchance go through the data battles (and the super secret boss fight at the end), that would be such a joy to see as well, but I imagine that a super-cut of that video would probably take a long while to make, so I'll wait patiently for when it's ready :) In the meantime, I'll watch whatever other content you put on here too!!

No disrespect to Rutger Hauer, rest in peace, but Christopher Lloyd does such a good job of recapturing the energy of Nimoy's performance as Xehanort. His voice fits so perfectly, he's probably my favorite. Glad they got him back for Melody of Memory.

Hell yeah. Been waiting to see your reaction to all the feels traps that remind puts you through. Original KH3 ending happy hurts. Remind gives that ending even more sweetness, and when it twists the knife it hurts even more. Damn, what a journey this series is. Also, a moment of acknowledgment for how much of badass Sora is. He's involved in taking down every organization member as is, then remind comes and shows that even the bits that Sora didn't seem to be a part of, Sora was body hopping and pulling some of the strings! What a legend.
I just found your channel (shoutout to SarahKey!) and I love the kingdom hearts content! Kingdom hearts forever ❤❤❤ REMIND was so worth it! It made the ending of kingdom hearts 3 even better by giving us all these behind the scenes moments and got us to feel it again ❤️❤️❤️
I may have said this on an earlier vid, but in case I haven't But thank you so much for showing us how much you loved and were affected by the Kingdom hearts series. It's genuinely my greatest joy in life watching others enjoy things and seeing you play through this series and learn things about this wacky knot of a story (and even showed me things I had forgotten or missed) was such a joy. Keep going forward with your streams and exploring the universes of games and bring that joy and energy forward to so many others. It's cheesy and melodramatic but i have to say it, " May your heart be your guiding key".
One thing that took me a while to figure out was the part of the memories from roxas heart returning the memories sora recieved in dream drop distance arent just roxas alone but theyre all part of xions memory that roxas never let go of.
I've been on a journey with all your videos in such a short time. As soon as I saw this get released at work I took a break and went to go watch then realize I need to watch this in peace at home. You never disappoint. The same way you reacted about playable roxas was the same as me.
So how I always understood Terra both being the Dark Guardian and the Lingering Will, is that Terras actual heart was trapped in the Guardian. But the armor was literally what its name suggests. His lingering will. His desire to save his friends was so strong that he imprinted on the armor right before he got swallowed by Darkness. So the armor isnt really a person, but Terras strong desire to save his friends given form.
The interesting thing about kairi's fighting style is that most of it is based off of KH1 Sora's moves. She has a Sonic Blade, a Strike Raid, and even the same battle stance as Sora. I think that's likely because she spent so much time with her heart in Sora's body, so she may have picked up some of his combat experience alongside Sora.
This dlc was excruciating to play. Was so sad. But so good! Watching this video a year after I played it just brought back all those memories again. Thank you

Tears aside I think Chirithy is gonna be a big help with Scala exploration and getting everyone else caught up with Ye Ol' Union Cross events + Vanitas' existence. Little guy's pretty much the only one in 'reality' that can explain anything and (probably) isn't on Luxu's squad. Unless Scala isn't actually devoid of life and actually filled with other keyblade wielders.
"I'll come back to you, I promise." My head-cannon of what Sora says at the end. A full circle reminder of his promise to Kairi after KH "Ill come back for you, I promise!" only that he knows he has to disappear, but he'll find his way back to her, just like she found her way to him in KH2.

I was so excited to get to play as Kairi for the first time! And she has a cool teleportation move and giant energy blasts! And that beautiful team attack! Very satisfying!
Lore, Ventus is actually a dandelion from daybreak town (Union X) who traveled to the future alongside, skuld (theoretically the girl Isa and Lea are looking for), Elrena (Larxene), and laurium (Marluxia) and and starlitzia was accidentally killed by Ventus when he became possessed by the darkness (which is the darkness of vanitas that was within him before Xahanort seperated them causing Ventus amnesia)
My senior year of high school we played a video game collection for my final band concert. The last song in that collection was Simple and Clean, the version that plays during the end credits. So it was the last song I played before my childhood effectively ended and I moved onto college. To say this ending destroyed me is an understatement.
I liked Kingdom Hearts but Re:Mind made me love the game. It hurts so much but in a weird way. I just want Sora and Kairi to be together, is that so damn hard?!?!
Well, now that you've got nothing left but Melody of Memory to playthrough, time to fill the void with fanfictions about Axel, Roxas, and Xion actually getting to live their fucking lives for once.
Not sure if anyone else said this but I’ll give it a go. So in BBS, Terra was actually split into 3 parts. Xehanort took his body, his heart was trapped in the guardian (sometimes trying to wrestle control over the body again), and his will/mind was trapped in his armor. The mind has been mentioned in KH before, but Terra is the only time we’ve seen the mind on its own. The usual split we are familiar with is when someone becomes a heartless(the heart) and nobody(the body and will). That’s why heartless are usually mindless creatures, since the Will remains with the body to form the nobody. The current theory on why the guardian finally rebelled against Xehanort is that his mind entered the guardian after the armor was smashed. This allowed his heart to control the guardian and fight back.
I waited for this video to come out for so long just to get an answer to the question "was i the only one who cried like a baby when playing as Mickey on that scene?"

@@AlexanDrakeDUB one thing I will add about the Caribbean scene at the end of kh3 when sora saves everyone and he sees kairi in front of him he has a flash back to that scene and then gasp as he looks at kairi
To me that implies that he just now at that moment understood what it means
But I dont think he says "I love you" tho I think it would be great if its his goodbye from kh1

Thank you so much for this Leigh, it's truly been such a pleasure to relive this journey and to re-experience all the emotions that I had when going through Re:Mind. There were so many amazing moments here, and a lot of heartbreak as well towards the end too!
If you did perchance go through the data battles (and the super secret boss fight at the end), that would be such a joy to see as well, but I imagine that a super-cut of that video would probably take a long while to make, so I'll wait patiently for when it's ready :)

Btw Xehanort in this expansion is voiced by Christopher Lloyd, meaning Doc Brown is the man you face at the end. A true final boss.
No disrespect to Rutger Hauer, rest in peace, but Christopher Lloyd does such a good job of recapturing the energy of Nimoy's performance as Xehanort. His voice fits so perfectly, he's probably my favorite. Glad they got him back for Melody of Memory.

Seeing others cry where you cried, laugh along, or struggle with a universally difficult fight... Watching this journey of yours has been beautiful. Keep being amazing, hun.
Hell yeah. Been waiting to see your reaction to all the feels traps that remind puts you through. Original KH3 ending happy hurts. Remind gives that ending even more sweetness, and when it twists the knife it hurts even more. Damn, what a journey this series is.
Also, a moment of acknowledgment for how much of badass Sora is. He's involved in taking down every organization member as is, then remind comes and shows that even the bits that Sora didn't seem to be a part of, Sora was body hopping and pulling some of the strings! What a legend.

The first time Sora tried to save Kairi, he basically killed himself. He finally saves her for real, and he does it by ACTUALLY killing himself.

I may have said this on an earlier vid, but in case I haven't But thank you so much for showing us how much you loved and were affected by the Kingdom hearts series. It's genuinely my greatest joy in life watching others enjoy things and seeing you play through this series and learn things about this wacky knot of a story (and even showed me things I had forgotten or missed) was such a joy. Keep going forward with your streams and exploring the universes of games and bring that joy and energy forward to so many others. It's cheesy and melodramatic but i have to say it, " May your heart be your guiding key".
One thing that took me a while to figure out was the part of the memories from roxas heart returning the memories sora recieved in dream drop distance arent just roxas alone but theyre all part of xions memory that roxas never let go of.

I've been on a journey with all your videos in such a short time. As soon as I saw this get released at work I took a break and went to go watch then realize I need to watch this in peace at home. You never disappoint. The same way you reacted about playable roxas was the same as me.
So how I always understood Terra both being the Dark Guardian and the Lingering Will, is that Terras actual heart was trapped in the Guardian. But the armor was literally what its name suggests. His lingering will. His desire to save his friends was so strong that he imprinted on the armor right before he got swallowed by Darkness. So the armor isnt really a person, but Terras strong desire to save his friends given form.
I have been binging Leigh's reactions. It is giving me urge to play Kingdom Hearts again, which I love.

The interesting thing about kairi's fighting style is that most of it is based off of KH1 Sora's moves. She has a Sonic Blade, a Strike Raid, and even the same battle stance as Sora. I think that's likely because she spent so much time with her heart in Sora's body, so she may have picked up some of his combat experience alongside Sora.

Tears aside I think Chirithy is gonna be a big help with Scala exploration and getting everyone else caught up with Ye Ol' Union Cross events + Vanitas' existence. Little guy's pretty much the only one in 'reality' that can explain anything and (probably) isn't on Luxu's squad.
Unless Scala isn't actually devoid of life and actually filled with other keyblade wielders.

"I'll come back to you, I promise." My head-cannon of what Sora says at the end. A full circle reminder of his promise to Kairi after KH "Ill come back for you, I promise!" only that he knows he has to disappear, but he'll find his way back to her, just like she found her way to him in KH2.

Lore, Ventus is actually a dandelion from daybreak town (Union X) who traveled to the future alongside, skuld (theoretically the girl Isa and Lea are looking for), Elrena (Larxene), and laurium (Marluxia) and and starlitzia was accidentally killed by Ventus when he became possessed by the darkness (which is the darkness of vanitas that was within him before Xahanort seperated them causing Ventus amnesia)

My senior year of high school we played a video game collection for my final band concert. The last song in that collection was Simple and Clean, the version that plays during the end credits. So it was the last song I played before my childhood effectively ended and I moved onto college. To say this ending destroyed me is an understatement.
I liked Kingdom Hearts but Re:Mind made me love the game. It hurts so much but in a weird way. I just want Sora and Kairi to be together, is that so damn hard?!?!

Not sure if anyone else said this but I’ll give it a go. So in BBS, Terra was actually split into 3 parts. Xehanort took his body, his heart was trapped in the guardian (sometimes trying to wrestle control over the body again), and his will/mind was trapped in his armor. The mind has been mentioned in KH before, but Terra is the only time we’ve seen the mind on its own. The usual split we are familiar with is when someone becomes a heartless(the heart) and nobody(the body and will). That’s why heartless are usually mindless creatures, since the Will remains with the body to form the nobody. The current theory on why the guardian finally rebelled against Xehanort is that his mind entered the guardian after the armor was smashed. This allowed his heart to control the guardian and fight back.
