Life is rough in the coal mines of 1876 Pennsylvania. A secret group of Irish emigrant miners, known as the Molly Maguires, fights against the cruelty of the mining company with sabotage and murder. I am fascinated by the story of the Molly Maguires. I love Richard Harris and Sean Connery. The setting is a beautiful area of the country. But,wow,this trailer would never have inspired me to see this movie.

My dad was at the filming of this film he was four and Harris called him old 44, not to mention my grandfather introduced sean connery to tea berry gum
I really wish the makers of the trailer had used the Dubliners song "The Molly Maguires" in this.
location is: in Luzerne County Pennsylvania. There were two buildings that were built for this movie. everything else was already there. Eckley Miners Village. Some of the buildings are still lived in. Very interesting historical living museum

I've visited one of the jails in Pennsylvania where 4 of the Molly Maguires were hung! The jail isn't running anymore and it is now made into a guided tour.
Gabriella Chava My husband's grandfather was born and raised there. He was six and a coal breaker when it happened, and he remembered the incident and hangings, so far as I know. Fast forward: I proudly carried his great-granddaughter for nine months ... and named her Molly.
They were hanged. Hung means... something else.

Then u need to see the movie ,i was younger and just could not wait to go there to see the town that hollywood built and it was to me a perfect movie showing man against the machine ,how owners were cruel and story is based on true events meven court n jail !

I just finished Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Valley of Fear" which is loosely based on this story. I was so excited to see that the movie stars Sean Connery and Richard Harris with a score by Henry Mancini...then I lost all excitement with this trailer, haha.

They came from the mines of castlecomer co Kilkenny Ireland
Most of the Irish in that region were from Donegal. Some spoke Irish including my great-grandfather.
I've been doing my genealogy and looks like my 4th great grandfather was involved. My genetic test shows me as having relation to Kilkenny Ireland.
As usual the Catholic Church were AGAINST the poor,the working man looking for his human rights to feed his children. and FOR the Rich who treated them no better than animals.What a bunch of hypocrits!

Yet the movie has some historical inaccuracies and some characters didn’t fit
If they told the REAL FACTS of the BRUTALITY of the BRITS the Film would never have been allowed to be released!

I came here for a movie trailer, instead I got a live action version of the Republican Party's labor plans
