I bought the x5sw and I bought it for the camera and for the fun. I will have to say I got a lot of good info and most of all on how to set up the camera on my phone. I was missing a set and this video helped me out on what it was I wasn't doing. So, long story short Thanks for the video. You are right about the wind lite wind its okay heave wind bad. I got so great shots.

Hi Ali. I also got this X5SW on black color. The blade guards came in white, but I actually painted them black -plastic spray paint- (The black X8C and X8W come with black blade guards). I also extended the antenna of the camera to half-wavelength (it comes with antenna for quarter-wavelength), and also the antenna of the RC. It runs great but cannot sustain up to strong winds.

I was hoping they would do this with the Syma. I like the way the X5C-1 flies so I guessing I'd like this one as well.
Taking off the prop guards will improve flight performance tremendously, especially in light winds.
Having tried them both, the standard Syma camera is vastly superior to the Wifi camera. It records crisp HD video to an SD card rather than relying on a smart phone's processor. I agree about the picture quality of the WiFi camera. The novelty of real time viewing isn't worth the sacrifice of video quality. I think it's time for Syma to step up its game.

I got one and it's a great beginner quadcopter. Battery doesn't last long but once you get the hang of it, its very fun to fly around. Camera is useless thought but recommended for the price.
Battery last for how long can u tell? Im going to buy my 1st drone i wanted to know information of the battery ;)
SkillGaming PT Around 10 minutes flight time give or take, mine came with 3 batteries. Since the camera is low quality I just take it off, I think that saves some battery.
+MrKratosYT Personally I don't think the camera is that bad. I'm thinking of trying a 5mp camera like 808 #16 or Mobius Camera

Nice review. I got one quadcopter. I really enjoyed playing with it. I fly it thrice a height of 8 floor building and I saw people looking at it saying "shit!"

I have a syma x5sw-1 which the flips are great you just have to control the drone as exactly the drone turns back not upside down...... I have gotten 10 batteries for my SYMA drone each battery holds 7 minute flight time... my opinion on the drone is a 10/10 great drone not only for beginners, for experts, and people who don't have 1k for a phantom 4 :))

Thanks for your review. I saw someone selling them on Craigslist for $100 so I wanted to see how good they were. But Google shopping shows they can be had all day long for $59. Not too bad for $59.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration anything with four propellers is considered a drone. Also on their website they say SYMA quadcopters are drones. So don't act like you know so much.

Take off the Blade protection and I had no problem I had tons of problem in flips and stuff to I took them off. I fly mine with no camera and love it.

i have this drone, take off the 4 legs and the 4 blade protectors. It looks cooler, and is a lot lighter. Since it is lighter, it is way more responsive, and the battery will last longer because you won't have to use so much to keep it steady. mine can last about 6-7 minutes on one battery now and it performs a lot better now in the winds

Its probably best quality for money dron you can buy. Decent camera, nice tricks, easy to operate. It has 2 big disadvantages tho - doesnt fly in wind(even small wind) and battery only lasts 5min ;-)

Good video. Should also do a followup when it's less windy. I'd like to know how well the wifi A/V streaming works at longer distances from the cellphone, like at max range up in the sky for instance.

Thanks for posting helped so much for shopping My 1st Quad copter for filming. Is there anything similar you could suggest that has better quality WiFi and camera?
I have an FY326-q7 which is a clone of the x5c and it looks like it would fly very much the same. I'm guessing the extra aero drag of the camera and tall landing gear make it even worse in the wind than a regular x5c or my clone though.

The Syma x8g dose not do very good in the wind either. I know because mine is at the bottom of the gulf of Mexico lol. I was flying it on high rates. So i have switched to brushless King Kong 260 from hobby king.The Syma it great to learn on though. I flew mine for a year with no issues at all. Thank you for sharing.

I have the x5sw-1 defo not fly only by looking at mobile but I have had it up in around 100 meters with cam online ;) and around 200 meter up without.but it was straight above me..it amazed me bcoz of the price.i have a few videos up on my CZcams.
