Agrar is a village located precisely 27 km from Mangalore to the east and 3 kms northeast from Bantwal Town. The San Salvatore church existing in this location is said to be one of the ancient churches, and has been the lifeblood for Catholics. But this was not a hometown of Konkani Catholics a 3-4 centuries ago. They are a community of Christians who migrated from Goa (Bardez region) in 17th century.
