Container station UI has changed quite a bit since this video was taken. I'm on QuTS 5.1 and the Container Station UI there doesn't allow you to change any of the port numbers. I can see there's some environment variables for the PORTS but it doesn't let you change those either.

Just installed QNAP OS 5.x on my backup NAS and this was the first time playing with ContainerStation - Thank you

Nicely done. I followed this because I was curious to benchmark my home LAN prior and after an upgrade to 10G connections. Test still on a 1G connection done, now waiting for some additional hardware to finish the upgrade.

I'd be interested to hear how it goes for you. I have used this and it worked well for 2.5G ethernet.

Thank you . I following your video and found out the speed . Thanks again , very helpful . I doubted that the lan cable has problem before and find out that just the internet speed is very non stable , but not the problem of the lan connection .

Great video, exactly what I needed.
Thanks for taking the time to make it.
    my results were:
    5286.3Mbps DOWN
    5154.8Mbps UP
And I believe that's what it should be with a 10GB connection right?
    approx. 5K up and down.

I have been carefully watching the video tutorial, and the installation process and testing of the internal LAN connection are clear to me. However, my main interest is to test the connection of the Qnap NAS with the internet. How should I configure the settings? Thank you!

Any ideas when the read from the NAS is slower than the write? I've opened up a case with QNAP but I'm curious. Both are connected to the same switch on a gigabit network. Not sure why copying from the NAS is significantly slower. The drives are more than adequate and average around 140 MB/s in the disk tests.
copy large file to NAS from PC (Samsung 970 EVO PLUS) - 114 MB/s
copy large file from NAS to PC (Samsung 970 EVO PLUS) - 98 MB/s

How do you change the NIC card, I have one address going to the switch and another that is direct connect, how do I change which NIC I want to test

sir does the wifi network speed means the nas is connected to wifi without ethernet cable? because i am using a wifi extender to my isp box then from isp box ethernet port to NAS via cable and it shows in connection setting in nas 1gbps..

Thank you for the video. Why the shared links are always very slow even the internet is fast. I have 1000Mbps download and 200Mbps upload but when i download a file using shared link Im getting only 2.5MB download speed instead of morethan 25MB.

@@milekFPS hey mate. I had the same issue, solution was to access my nas remotely (via a browser), then a URL was displayed

You said a faster WiFi? Or you meant a LAN cable.

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  Před 2 lety

The first test was on a 2.4Ghz wifi network. The second was on a faster 5Ghz wifi network. If I was on a gigabit LAN network, I would usually see speeds around 975 upload and download.
