  • ENSONIQ TS-12 Performance Composition Synthesiser / Workstation
The TS series workstations introduced in 1993 were the culmination of the line that started with the ESQ-1 and progressed through the SQ-80, VFX, VFX-SD, SD-1, and SD-1/32. The resulting TS contained the most advanced feature set, most powerful sequencer and sound engine, and provided high quality sound and powerful effects processing. The TS-12 has 76-note hammer action keyboard with a channel aftertouch feature from Fatar.
    Keyboard
TS-12 - 76-key (E-G) weighted action keyboard with programmable velocity and channel pressure sensitivity (MIDI transmission of Release Velocity)
Up to 12 programmable keyboard zones for splits and layers
    437 programs (120 RAM/180 ROM/137 GM ROM)
SoundFinder provides easy lookup by musical type for fast locating of desired Programs
    300 performance Presets (120 RAM/180 ROM)
2 SIMM sockets provide for up to 8 MB (4 Megaword) of 16-bit sample RAM

8 MB of sample RAM provides for 20 Sampled Sound locations
Maximum memory per Sampled Sound: 4 MB
Automated loading of Sampled Sounds upon power-on Waves
48 Megabits (6 MB - 3.5 Megawords) of waveform ROM

Each voice has a complete set of programmable parameters:
    Independent waveform selection
2 independent multi-mode dynamic digital filters (low pass, high pass, variable bandwidth band pass)
3 six stage loopable hardware envelopes with 15 parameters per envelope
35 preset envelope templates for ease of programming

I owned the TS12 and loved its unique hybrid sound. Its biggest weakness were those non resonant filters and the fact that it weighed a ton! It was however built like a tank and had a fabulous user interface thanks to all those buttons and that large easy to read display.

I've read people used the held pitch bend feature to recreate a pedal steel sound. Can't find a demonstration of it anywhere on the internet though!

I’m picking up a non functioning ts-10 soon and i’ve been waiting for a thing like this for a lot of time
Can you advise me anything about fixing this synthesizer? And what are the first things i should consider when buying a non functioning one, i’m really good with soldering and fixing stuff if that’s the case with these synths
Any little piece of advice is really appreciated, your videos about the ts-10 and the ts-12 have hyped me a lot to buy one, thank you.

@@Goran.Stojanovic Are they factory sounds from a floppy disk? They seem to be different than the other TS-12 vids, where the first bank of sounds lists Baby Grand, Full Body, Brite Pno, etc. instead of Glider, 2Nite2Nite, etc. Thank you!

Не вижу смысла играть бессмысленные рандомные мелодии по две минуты одним звуком. Ролик можно было сделать минут за 10 максимум.
