This video is actually gonna help me, because I'm on a MC server were other people have done Map art, I didn't know that was a thing until recently, and I already do regular pixel art. Now I know exactly what I need to do to fill out a map for my map art, I can start doin it and hopefully have lots of fun with it.
2:57 Actually you can make custom explorer maps that shows different structures like villages, strongholds, pillager towers etc. or you can even change the x mark to other icon with loot tables and you can change the map item color with MapColor tag.
Of course I have to skip work to see magma’s video

The treasure chest one is the most unrealistic thing, to find one chest you need to exhaust at least 2 iron shovels by digging up the sand, looking for it

My days of making big “H”s out of concrete so I can see Home on a map is over
We are definitely long overdue a map update. I love maps and they are one of my favourite items in the game. It makes me nostalgic when I do the 'reminiscing tricks' using maps. I've had a Minecraft world for 3 years now. It dates all the way back to the start of the Aquatic Update, and still rolling on. I have dedicated an entire building to cartography and when I look back over the years, it really is something. Thanks for this amazing video MagmaMusen!
