Jason Sudekis can really do everything!
I know Im asking randomly but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Clyde Kade Instablaster :)
@Jack Rayan thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Jack Rayan It worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Clyde Kade You are welcome xD
Really nice unit, but at that price point A/C and microwave should be standard equipment.
I actually like that it isn't standard. Because when they come standard, you either have to renovate the unit yourself to remove it or in some cases you can special order. Either way, an annoyance when it comes standard, some people strictly boondock so it's not the best thing.
@Bijan Mehrpour if it comes standard you would have to try and custom order it without it and there are plenty of reasons for RVs especially smaller ones, to not have it installed. If you're living in it permanently or semipermanently, and traveling using it on BLM land and whatnot, you're probably not going to use the ac much if at all. Same thing with a microwave. It doesn't come standard with enough battery to run either on and on top of that I don't even think there would be enough room/weight to expand battery storage to allow it to potentially run it without shore power anyway. Plus it also limits your solar expandability for the roof leaving you to lug around a suitcase zamp solar or something that you'd have to plug in each time and store it. Not fun.
@Bijan Mehrpour I just went over why you wouldn't want an ac, and you're arguing why I wouldn't want an ac? 😂 We've survived thousands of years without them. There's these magical things called fans that don't use nearly even a tenth of the electricity. Let me know if you've heard of them. If you want an AC pony up the cash and get one.
@Bijan MehrpourI could reply to you but, meh this is just a waste of time. Enjoy your life doughnut.
@Bijan Mehrpour Pretty sure the reason not to have AC is that you need to be hooked into shore power or have a generator to run the darn thing.
One you don't have boondocking the other is another pain in the ass to make sure you have fuel for, another engine to keep maintained, loud, heavy etc etc.
In other words quite a few reasons not to spend an extra $2000 if you don't need to.
Boondockers would much rather have a roof full of solar than a AC unit.
It’s amazing that Airstream could get Jason Sudeikis to do this! Bravo and well done! Loved you on SNL!
I was thinking the same thing 🤣
Who?
I was just about to comment this! scrolled down and saw your post lol
Ted Lasso, i"m sure, aint cheap.
Airstream has Ray Ramano too!
Really like how you could have a permanent bed & seating space. Nice!
I’m confused why anyone would want two table areas. There is one 5 feet away. Seems like they could have got more creative with that back sleeping area...like a higher bed with more storage underneath or an option for a bunk bed maybe. Or make the space completely modifiable to do either, or just as a gear storage area. Such a wasted opportunity. But I do love the table up front and able to sleep one more there. That was my main gripe about the 16...as I want a table and a bed at the same time and not always hassling with tear downs everyday like with the 16.
A snoring husband is a good reason. 😂 Every little distance counts.
Can't wait to get this!!!
whenever air stream makes a truck camper its gunna be litttt
Looks amazing! I would love to get one of these at some point down the line. It has pretty much everything I would need in the field.
Like your work Ben. Keep it up.
Very nice first look at these! Now my list choice for purchase is narrowing down. I am excited about the upgrades and exterior tent option. Glad there is a Truma heater. Excellent!
I believe the Basecamp 20 would be perfect if there was an option with the kitchen in the front like the 16ft model. For those of is not needing an extra bed/sitting area. The huge kitchen in the 16 is a major selling point, but the larger size of the 20 probably really desired for that little extra space. I would certainly be one of the first in line for a Basecamp 20x front kitchen.
The problem with a front kitchen is weight distribution. There is a reason the kitchen is centered around the axle. Especially on single axle trailers.
A front kitchen would push the tongue weight too high. Meaning the axle needs to move forward. So basically a complete redesign.
While I get what you're saying....it will probably never happen.
Ummm....just buy the 16
Interesting evolution-we might have bought one had they been out a year earlier (we went with a used 25 foot flying cloud). We confirmed at an RV show that the 16x was just a bit too small for our 100 pound dog and the two of us to sleep in (I'm 6 feet tall). I really Like the light weight philosophy of design with overhead storage nets etc. Can't be all things to all people. Off-grid camping is the best and to keep the weight down I'd spec solar panels but no air conditioner and no microwave. Would be interested to know the hitch weight. Really nice to see the absence of the old 6 gallon water heaters that are everywhere-I think the base camp idea is evolving for the new younger generation into what will be a really popular product. As somewhat old-fashioned retirees, we ended up buying a larger half ton truck with the max tow package to manage our 25 footer that has a hitch weight over just over 800 pounds. When towing you can tell all 6000 pounds are back there even with the 6.2 litre engine. Not so with the base camp as you can easily tow it without an equalizer hitch. It's all about trade offs. Just what you need and no more. There are definitely gravel mountain roads we've been where I wouldn't take the flying cloud but where the base camp would easily go.
Beautiful! A better design feature for the table leg would have been one adjustable leg that can adjust to various heights for more versatile use, i.e. standing desk, table, support for bed instead of two different legs.
Y'all need to move the kitchen on the 20x to the front of the base camp. One think I like about the Base camp is being able to cook and look outside 200 degrees.
I'm going to modify mine into a whole studio desk to work from :)
I like the new location of the kitchen. Still plenty of windows. And now I get to enjoy the 180° view while I work. Kitchen storage is better with this layout, too.
Good idea
Just get the 16
Funny upgrade. I never liked the Basecamp until I saw a tour of one highlighting the kitchen in the front. Now they've undone that. huh.
I placed my deposit to reserve a VIN on a BC 20 X this past Saturday. I’m very excited to make my transition into this! Can’t wait to actually get it but the dealership said it might be as late as October-December. Hoping that’s not true. Can’t wait to join the Airstream family and create new memories with my friends and family.
Gonna be a bit all manufactures are backed up due to COVID shutdowns and massive demand increase. Hold tight. I’ve been thinking of a used 19 Bambi until I saw this. Looks fantastic!
I like where you guys are going with this lineup. Hawley Bowlus would be proud. His design was centered around the fact that he wanted to take his hobby/toy out with him and camp. It's nice to see AS looking back at the roots of the company for inspiration. It looks like a couple of MTB fork mounts on the floor would work great to haul some bikes and might be room to sleep in there. Show us that. These holding tanks are much better but I would still like to see something like 45 fresh gallons in there.
You did not show us the toilet and a shower area does it have one?
Love the option of solar energy !
Great addition to the line up. I think this type of unit would do well with a modular interior. Want a rear garage? snap out the seating! Customizable modular interior system means more usability by the customer and more $$$ for airstream.
I really wish they'd do some modular interiors. Since they're not interested in true pet-friendly designs, modular options sure would be nice for those of us needing to accommodate multiple fur babies.
Wow i never knew how awesome airstream was. Looks amazing !
Great review.
doea the exterior tent fit on the 20X as well? excellent job thx
Was the out side design based on less are resistance for better gas mileage ?
I wish it was a toyhauler like the original basecamp. I need something that will haul my sportbike.
Will you offer a three-way refrigerator as an option? Having to rely on electric (battery isn't really a choice) would be a deal breaker.
Looks Amazing, but I bet those beds are very uncomfortable
Nice for weekend warriors, but definitely not enough storage space for a person living in it long term. The kitchen in the arch is a better idea. Overall good look
I just watched a video where a woman, 32 years of age, lived in it for 3 years with a dog and cat.
Great video. Host was thorough, but not boring.
Oh man that would be perfect here in south texas! Two doors? Can I get one in san antonio?
I love it, so so wish this was in the UK!!!!
The Man Outdoors You have MUCH better looking travel trailers, caravans, over there!
henry hobson build quality is rubbish after a couple of years they full apart. Only designed to use like couple of dozen weekends each year.
what's the drag coefficient compared to the Bambi?
I love it.
Airstream are you considering a model with a dry bath and 22 feet.
be nice to see a review/walkthrough of the tent and how to set it up.
I noticed the tires were good year Wow !Seems to me they are SUV Truck tires correct? Please advise.
There is nothing I don’t like about it and thank you for including heated tanks - I’m gonna buy one
Wow I love it
Very impressed ❤️👍
I still like the old model with the kitchen in the front.
Kelly Sheridan .... I totally agree. That panoramic view in the older kitchen was awesome. I could see myself passing on this newer trailer design due to the kitchen location. Sweet trailer though
That X package is great... Probably could have added an extra 2 feet to it for a dry bath or a large wet bath, or potentially adding the X package to the Bambi or Caravel. Also with the tankless water heater, some sort of bypass system to allow water to be drawn from a river or creek just for the shower or toilet would be amazing.
WHAT! A version of this has been around since 2016. I pass by an airstream dealership everyday. I was just telling my wife I like airstreams but wish they was more rugged. Seriously I’m hoping in my Jeep right now to check it out.
Yeah the Basecamp X package is legit! :)
Awesome!
Do you have a lightweight teardrop trailer in your portfólio ?
Hello Airstream, Hopefully another video can be released on this unit, because this one appears to be rushed and incomplete. There are a lot of RV CZcams reviewers who would do an excellent job to review this new trailer. Maybe this is a Covid version with limited resources, but a lot of us look forward to a complete review. Good luck.
Hi Grace, this was the first-look video to reveal the Basecamp 20 and Basecamp 20X. The intention was not to do a complete review but more to show the high level details of what was new on this larger model when compared with the Basecamp 16. Additional videos will be available soon enough. Thanks!
By far, I believe the Basecamp to be Airstream’s best model for boondocking off-grid in terms of its maneuverability and responsiveness. Stoked to a see 20 model. I hope they fixed the fridge cooling issues.
Hi Clint, the refrigerator has been updated to a highly efficient, all-electric refrigerator that works great!
Airstream that’s awesome! Is this true of the 16 models as well??
What is the wooden floor panel storage for that's close to the back hatch???
It's an additional storage area that is easily accessible from inside or outside. You can toss in wet clothing, dirty chains, or anything else that you want to tuck away out of sight.
Looks awesome...but the big question...does the bathroom have a sink?
Looks like from the airstream website with floor plan ...no bathroom sink (: guess that’s why he didnt show inside....
The bathroom does not include a sink as it's the same layout as the Basecamp 16 wetbath. We mentioned and showed the update for the dedicated outdoor shower (different from the Basecamp 16 pass-through shower). You can see the exact bathroom configuration on our model floor plan --> www.airstream.com/travel-trailers/basecamp/floorplans/standard-20/
@@Airstream-Inc Next time you're at home airstream....tape off your bathroom sink and use the kitchen sink for toothbrushing and hand washing after using the bathroom.
With the extra space of the larger trailer getting even a folding sink in the bathroom should have been a top priority. No fun having one sink.
I think having more than one sink in a small camper is a waste of space. I dream about owning an Airstream Atlas and nothing pisses me off more than losing the choice to have a wider shower over a sink just to spit toothpaste in. I can do that and wash my hands in the kitchen sink. Keep it simple. Women like to travel AND shave their legs. We like a little wider room, and perhaps a teak foot stool to prop our foot on.
Im glad I own the 2002 Bambi
How much is the BaseCamp X 20?
Can't wait to put this behind my Tri-motor Cybertruck and hit the road in about a year!
Nice! That will be a phenomenal combo package.
James Velvet my thoughts as well. I just signed my Basecamp 20 X paperwork on Saturday.
That big battery will be an amazing asset. Running an AC and all the electricity will barely dent a 200kwh battery. Combine with solar and you're good.
So how is that new Cybertruck of yours working out?
Any footage of basecamp production? Would love to see factory tour.
Gotta ask, where does one find sheets to fit the the beds? Does a set come with the trailer or are they available for a small extra fee?😒
If your using a Basecamp a Sleeping bag is your best choice. Roll it up in the morning and done. After all the whole idea of the Basecamp is to be more of an off the grid back in the woods set up next to your favorite fishing stream.
I'm in love.
Perhaps it’s the pandemic, but this looks extremely attractive to me right now. Would have been useful to see the bathroom as that is a deal breaker for me!
On_The Road ah save your exasperation for something important. May I suggest a cup of cocoa and an early night to soothe your troubled soul.
Slick trailer
Wow! Now, you just need to pop one on a boat to Scotland and let me put it through its paces for a year or five... 😉
If this country keeps it up, maybe I'll hop on a ship. I'm ready to get out of here! Waiting on my Basecamp 20 X to be delivered.
How much more does this cost than the original 2007 Basecamp, and how much bigger is it?
nice looking. Too nice in a way. Still puzzled about ventillation (ie windows open?), sufficiency of storage, braking system, sufficiency of axle, too flashy for poor county stealth.
Dang! 🤩🤩🤩
The 20x is a great size... how about an option for bunks for the kids?
I was thinking thee same thing. I guess I’ll put mine in the overhead nets for now.
I’m so glad you are so excited, me, this was a snooze .... couldn’t take more than 3 minutes, bye
i wonder how many watts is the microwave?
In which ways the Basecamp 20 is better than a Bambi 20 ?
I liked the original Basecamp with rear door only better than either of the later ones.
Can you remove the back cushions in the dinette to create a couple of more inches of space around the bed? I'm guessing yes, but just want to confirm. Thanks!
Dane Redmond 9:44
@@nicolaspronovost3463 I was referring to the other side of the trailer :)
I absolutely love this new model but the tiny wet bathroom is a deal killer for me I’m sad to say
I stood/ sat inside the bathroom today, it felt like more than enough space for a shower or a dump ;)
what’s under the wood board in the floor at the rear door?
It's a storage compartment. With moving the spare to the front, it opened up some space in the back so we decided to add a place where you can throw a wet suit, muddy chain, or any extra gear that needs a safe space.
Airstream What are the dimensions of that compartment? Also, is part of the front banquet bench removable?
how long can fridge run on just battery power ?
not long
cool, for someone who needs an RV that looks like a 1970s ambulance
Definitely underestimated bed and bathroom info.
where's storage for clothes and kitchen equipment?
Electric-only fridge? Propane option would be best for boondocking which is what I would suspect most buyers will be doing in this camper.
What's the point of aggressive tires for offroad on the trailer? Wouldn't those just matter for the tow vehicle?
Looks cool, fantastic profit-booster...! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Possibly a much studier tire that can take more offroad abuse than the standard tire.
Run a standard tire through some muddy fire roads and they won’t shed it creating slicks, then the trailer will just be sliding around back there like a tube towed behind a boat
Fourdoorexpeditioner that makes sense, thank you
what happened to the nest?
I want one
no bathroom?
Wow that thing is beautiful. I really think AC should be standard. I didn't know the base camp was the best selling model. What's after this base Camp 25? Airstream is really evolving for the future and aiming at younger buyers. This ain't your grandaddy's Airstream.
Hi Shekhar, thanks for the positive comment! The A/C unit is an optional feature for two primary reasons. 1.) for those who travel in areas that don't require air conditioners because it is cooler 2.) for those who travel in remote locations and do not have access to a shore power connection or bring along a generator
@@Airstream-Inc my wife looked at it and we're thinking of a used flying cloud. Today we think this might be the best route. I can't wait to actually see it to make a final decision.
I'm just not sold on this model. To me, the appeal of the Basecamp 16 is the smaller size for getting to those remote locations. This new Basecamp 20 just seems out of proportion to me, at the very least the wet bath should be larger. I'll stick with the B-16.
I have wrangler 4 door sport unlimited 3.8L automatic. I know for it can safety pull the 16x. Can vehicle pull this 20x? Be a done deal if it can safely.
I know one thing about rvs. Get it new and the bugs appear. Also these trailers must have its own brake system, if you want to go to the EU.
Wish there weren't so many quality issues being reported on these new 2021 midels or I'd seriously be considering the 20X.
Very nice I'm looking for a good home to live in
This is nice. It's like an iphone on wheels
Looks really good, but not for serious off roading. The ball hitch will need to be replaced with an articulating hitch. The water tanks look like they will need skid plates for protection. The waste water drains are too low and exposed and will be damaged when crawling over rocks, perhaps some kind of swing away drain or detachable drain can be used instead.
www.mchitch.com.au/product-page/6-tonne-automatic-coupler
Look at the tab 400 boondock airstream. Hint hint
I would like to see inside the bathroom. Why wouldn't you show it? How do you keep the towel dry while you shower? This is a nice trailer. I guess it would be OK for short trips. I need one I can live in. Thanks!
There are storage areas outside. Just grab it from the outside once you're done.
It confuses me why they shorted windows on the bedroom side.
Fresh night air is ideal
By the bed
What is the benefit of offroad tires on a trailer??? For looks??
Off road tires have thicker side walls which is made to take more abuse on the trail. Also more traction meaning it's not sliding around in mud like one of those round sleds on snow.
@@SunnyWu marginal benefit, if any
Hi nice and clear video you didn't show the wet bath however
I love the base camps they are so freaking awesome but I messed up when I move the kitchen because the best thing about the bass camp was the kitchen being in the front do you actually have more kitchen I felt and you could look out the big area window and I love the airstream even the 16 foot but the kitchen is so small and so is the refrigerator I mean the tab 400 has more counter space and a bigger fridge and it’s a smaller camper but the airstream is a bigger camper but it has a smaller refrigerator and smaller kitchen space in the 16 which I mean come on you’ll get it together they should’ve kept the kitchen in the front
Pricing and Availability? This looks perfect for towing behind a small truck or large SUV for week long trips, but with all the cushions and controls near the floor....it might not be well suited for bringing pets along. Big reason for buying of these for me would be making vacations with dogs easier... Traveling with pets can be difficult. I would have preferred more battery capacity too.
Hi Matthew, the Airstream Power Plus system is available as a dealer installed option. This kit includes upgrades to lithium batteries and solar controller. Also, Basecamp is great for pets. We have several Airstream Ambassadors that travel with their pets all the time in them :)
@@Airstream-Inc when will dealers have the new base camp on their lots?
I'm not sure if he'll ever see this comment but...... Doesn't he look like the actor from We Are the Millers? Kinda fitting since they did their road trip in an RV.
Very underrated comment lol…Jason Sudeikis is the actor’s name.
I would very much like a a rear bath not a wet bath or possible a wet bath but bigger and just make the door bigger to replace the rear hatch. That way there will be a panoramic view from the back all the around to the front and to the back again.
This size and weight should dictate a double axle for redundant safety, especially now that the unit is taller.
Should not have moved the kitchen area. One of the best things about this unit was the extra large kitchen. Ill buy a used model before I buy this layout.
And, why no view of the wet bath?
Happy to see mainstream RVs getting compressor fridges....
Now if they would start doing composting toilets....
I don't understand why more small RV makers aren't at least trying out floorplans with a composting toilet option.
@@cjzydeco I think it's because of RVIA regulations.
Plz drop price by 5g
One thing that no one ever talks about. All the reviewers are tall and thin. Great to show off height. Ever since I was a boy at Sears having to shop the "Husky" section for clothing I've always been aware of weight limitations. That bed in the back with the table supports.... wonder what the weight limit is?
Really need to make one with a full size rear door for those that want to take dirt bikes or quads etc....a small toy hauler
We had a 2007 Basecamp that could open wide, had space for a motorcycle and had tie downs.
We didn't get to see the inside of the restroom. Looks promising. I don't like where the key hooks are located, might get caught on those exiting and entering the vehicle. Should be placed about the door. Good video all around.
Hi Romeo, you can see inside the bathroom with the following link: www.airstream.com/travel-trailers/basecamp/floorplans/standard-20/
Just click on the "+" inside the shower area and a picture will show up where you can then click on it to enlarge the photo. It's the same layout as the Basecamp 16 but does not have the shower pass-through and includes a window.
Why would you want or need off road tires on a trailer? It just makes more noise and less fuel economy.
