He speaks with a southern US accent. He has an interesting history. His version makes me cry. Quite a vocalist .

The audio engineer that did that recording has done a great job compressing/limiting that track. The dynamics are felt, not heard in volume. Thats the way to do it. The reverb is so loud its like an instrument in its own right. Interesting mix. Like it.

His voice sounds to me like a blend of marvin gaye and joe cocker. I always get heavy joe cocker vibes when I listen to him and watch him.

I dont know if anyone has suggested it, but there is an artist named Tingre who sings a song called HEAVEN in the 2018 Singer show. Incredible...masterful vocals and unreal performance.

If you are not familiar with Devin Townsend I think you will be blown away. His voacl tone is unmatched in metal with the highest pitched fry scream I have ever heard. His "Deadhead" and "Death to Music" live performances at Royal Albert Hall are fantastic. His live EMGTV solo performance of "Kingdom" is just superb and his official video for "Spirits will Collide" is so uplifting and will make you just feel good. Good Luck and thxs.
