Hi, I’m Dan
Basically I’m just this crazy guy from Lethbridge, Alberta , that has this crazy expensive hobby. Being retired I had to come up with a way to pay for this insanity without touching my retirement cash.
So what’s the solution? Of course it’s making extra dollars hauling junk, removing scrap, and breaking crap apart separating the metals to get the most bucks possible and keeping these valuable resources out of the landfill.
So I really hope you subscribe and join along as I follow my adventure on checking dumpsters and alley for some free junk, as well as going to auctions and buying some stuff to resell and scrap
We will also be going to car shows and swap meets! Why because I really like doing that and ya I’ll bore you with hot rods and cruises even the occasional drag race
Make sure to subscribe to CZcams so you can come along on my adventures

@@nicejunk666 that is really good timing. Your getting faster with age
@scrapnjunk81 that’s the only thing that’s faster lol
@@nicejunk666 lol
Awesome tear buddy been putting work on them welders buddy getting all that copper copper! Great way to get you some extra copper with a vacuum buddy! Awesome video buddy!
Thanks bro I seem to get enough of them, hope the vacuum tip helps
Big Bertha made that one easy! Deamination is always fun. Old school way !! Never thought about boiling the windings! Good video!
Love Bertha she’s my girl, thanks brother
Awesome Awesome buddy. You've been keeping those transformers in check here lately!!😅
It’s my favorite thing to do it’s transformers
NICE!
😎
What the heck? I had a bunch of smart Alec comments that didn't go through. I could see them partly sent when I got on the computer but couldn't resend, copy, nothing. I was just commenting about the awesome flat screws, the lovely, slidey plates, and the very sexy pile of copper. Also, the Bertha saw dust trick.
Maybe CZcams has had enough of you 🤣
Flat screws are my Favorite but these were disappointing they came out way to easy, it’s better when you struggle
Slidey plates makes it hard to eat
Yes the copper I dream so much about the copper
Bertha is the best!
Good video
Thank you I appreciate it
I had a transformer come apart just like that, I assumed it was because it was so old the glue broke down. But idk.
That was an awesome score!
Too bad the boiling method didn’t work, but thinking outside the box is awesome.
Ya I’m not sure why it was like that but it was awesome lol I’m also fat and lazy🤣
I paid $22 for that welder
Ya somehow I will get it off
@@nicejunk666 my yard still buys it as #2, maybe yours will too, hopefully.
@scrapitall200 I definitely would be ok with #2
A very informative video with lot of details. You have earned a subscriber for life. Can you scrap one piece of traction motor that comes out of locomotive or oilfield? Usually weighs between 5,500 lbs - 7,600 lbs. Has a good copper recovery and easy to break it down.
That does sound interesting I will keep my eye out for one
You should check out the 9000 pound generator series it has its own playlist on my channel it was a brute
Thanks for subbing I really appreciate you
They sure don't make them like that anymore! Nice teardown
No they sure dont everything is aluminium and 10 times the price
You made the right choice... rest easy old machine.😉
I agree, if it was aluminum windings I would of restored it, a Craigslist restoration and sell her on marketplace, but the copper gives me the same value with out the work
I love welder there brilliant I have I have 2 big transformers out out of yo old welders to tear down too
So sweet
Heck yea
Oh yea
Try to strip the tape with Dawn and a crock pot for about 6 to 8 hrs
Oh I’ll have them try that
That reminds me of the old Night Ranger song. Soldering, what's the gauge to weld? And what's that awful smell?
Haha to funny
What size is bertha
I can cut 14” wide with Bertha
Your scrap yard is tough. I get #2 price with that stuff still on the copper
Normally I would agree, but when prices went up they started being picky, maybe ow it will be better
Restore it😂😂 Nice click 🎣
You know it 😂
thats kool junk 100%
Thank you my friend
