Sometimes, deceased parents grant most of their wealth to the one that suffered most. My father was the first child, but my grandfather was working abroad despite having 6 children. As a result, my father became my grandmother’s helper, which also made him not attend school while all 5 did. When my grandfather was nearing his end, he gave half of his wealth and property to my father as a “payment” for taking his role as a father to his siblings. My uncle and aunties were unhappy about the decision, but it was luckily accepted.

I have never known, nor met a child given up for adoption, or fostered who can hear the parents say it "was for the childs sake" ... My father went to his grave wondering what was wrong with him that his mother didn't love him enough to try and keep him. She rightly fought for her part of the trust. She learnt a lesson from the first money. And she learnt how greedy and malicious people can be where it's concerned.

I can't help sometimes but have a Google while listening. I do find it icky that when Peter passed away last year, there was a GoFundMe set up to help pay for his funeral expenses. He came across as a bitter, smug man, who received significant family trust fund payments, yet his children needed to hold out hands to pay for his funeral.
I cannot help but somewhat agree with F.C. Dumaine that a Trust is smarter long term for the children than a straight, outrightinheritance. Siblings can be so nasty, especially when greed and money are more important to them.

I think the half sister probably over stepped at first I honestly get the son who stood firm and didn’t speak to his dad the trust was around before the father
Though I would totally give her a decent sum just because I’m nice

I wonder if Peter could watch this, and not see how bitter, vengeful and vindictive he looks? He comes across as so entitled, and his whole foundation around legitimacy is laughable, in this day and age, will all his grandchildren and great grandchild be "legitimate"? Will he fight to have them cut off from the trust because they are not "legitimate"? I doubt it, he was clutching at straws to ensure his sister did not get her share of the family money!

The illegitimate daughter......it's not your fault what happened to you, but.....I can understand the half-sister & -brother's stance. It was not about you or the money, it was about the hurt & betrayal of their Mother. And their ego's. "you're not one of us, class-wise. But that you did that to your adoptive parents, for money.....shameful. The one to blame here is your father. He produced you during his marriage by having an affair with your mother. When he married her later, he could have made you his legal daughter to ensure you'd be able to inherit, but he didn't. Who knows, maybe he thought that marrying your mom would do that, but, he did not make the effort to make sure. He seems to have just assumed that marriage was enough
