受持续强降雨及漓江上游水库相继泄洪影响，6月19日，广西桂林各主要河流水位迅速暴涨。根据水文气象资料显示，截至19日17时00分，桂林站水位上升到148.55米，已超过1998年漓江特大洪水148.4米，超警2.55米，为桂林1998年以来最大洪水。暴雨导致桂林一所学校被淹并发生内涝，500多名师生被困，救援队争分夺秒、不计代价，使用冲锋舟分批次接送和救援被困师生。目前，正值中国多地雨季，习近平主席第一时间要求各地政府部门全力做好抗洪防汛和救援工作，确保人民群众生命和财产安全！桂林海事局于19日9时40分启动防汛一级应急响应，目前，广西政府全力进行防汛和救援工作。
