3D Touch is the feature I wish was never cut. I understand it's expensive, but what a fantastic feature with so much potential.
They didn’t even cut it because of expense, they cut it because of the space it took up, it’s why the 11 had such a great battery life, and then, they just go and start increasing the phone sizes to pure chonk. At the very least the pros should be coming with it I think
It's neat, but I completely understand why they got rid of it. They had it for 4 generations of iPhone and barely anyone outside of the tech community was using it for anything. Battery life and cost was far more important
Right, I can understand that for sure. A long press works just as well, but the tangible feature of pressing was so cool.
Right i hate when I upgraded to my 11 from my 8 now it just feels slow to activate the Haptic Touch feature
I’m not a part of the tech community, but I still loved it on my 6s, still miss it on my 13 pro max.
Iphone Xs has gotten pretty much all the newer ios features… and as a result has felt like better value than the X in the longer run… it might even get the extra year of software support that all the S iPhones have gotten in history

It surely is... I want to try out continuity camera a long time ago. Also it's the phone with Apple Smart HDR but not Deep Fusion. Some people still have grudge against Deep Fusion and they think that this is the best iPhone for casual photography. Waiting for my cousin to switch lolol
p.s. I'm using the Samsung Note which is as old as the iPhone 8+ and recently I bought the DeX Pad for cheap

Shout out to all the people like me still rocking an iPhone X (pro for me). I made a promise to myself that was going to be the last iPhone I bought that had lightning. Never thought I'd have to hold onto it for this long, but I'll be damned if I let apple take another dime from me without USB C.

I too prefer the solid battery icon with the percentage, no line. Makes it much harder to see.
They should’ve just given an option for both instead of forcing the line onto everyone. Still running iOS 16.0.3 for this reason alone.

Its crazy how much performance and features have stagnated. Cos if u bought a 4 in 2010 by the time 6s came out in 2015 it was obsolete. But the iphone x is stil usable 5 yrs later when the iphone 14 pro came out.
currently using the x and its battery is finally getting bad, the camera is usable but definitely not as good as the new phones especially the front camera and my gps is acting weird like maps is always confused. Gonna have to upgrade

I think that the used iPad 5th gen I bought got iOS 16, and it seems to work pretty well. I'm impressed that the old A9 chip is handling it so well. Get's a little hot, especially in gaming, but I'm surprised that I notice very little lag or stutters outside of games. On many of my Android phones, when they would get the last update they're slated for they would tend to lag like crazy, even just in the UI.
you can't possibly have iOS 16 on that iPad, mostly because iOS is not the operating system used on any of the iPad models 🤔

Tbf the neural engine on A11 is much worse than on A12
iOS 16 has a ton, A TON of small but annoying bugs that add up to an incredibly inconsistent and unpolished experience. I would honestly rather have less features and a more refined software like we had before, or just focus on fixing the bugs for now and new features later. also on my SE 2 the os feels kinda heavy and it lags a lot more than I expected from a 3/4 year old chip.
Love your stuff! Been watching it on CZcams. I want to see Lidar and continuity camera on the Apple TV through the iPhone/IPad. This would facilitate gaming and FaceTime on the Apple TV and differentiating Apple TV from its peers. Can you imagine playing a game with no controllers! Right out of Xbox's gameplay with the connect, but better because it is apple! I think Apple actually bought the connect company years ago. A couple of sports games, a lightsaber game and some physical fitness things to open it. Then you could control your Apple TV with movement and have it help you with Apple Fitness.

That Huawei brand you mentioned in your videos here and there 4 years ago. Their HarmonyOS 3 is on the Huawei Mate 9. It's as old as iPhone 7 Plus. The P10 and P10+ too. Their Honor counterparts too. Sucks it's only in China...
That depth effect should work with portrait photos but they don’t let you
I just updated my X to iOS 16 from 14. I have a 11 pro also but I like it on the X. I wanted to almost have 2 different phones and that's why I kept iOS 14 but the update has been smooth except a couple things.

I noticed you have the Degoo cloud storage app on your phone, I found the upload and download speeds unbearable but am curious to what you use it for?
for us who have 3D Touch iphones. they really need to add two switches to turn off haptic and keep 3D touch, or keep haptic and disable 3D touch, or keep them both. i miss 3D Touch tbh
iOS 16 even on the top iPhone models is very buggy... On the lockscreen if you swipe down (just for the fun of it) and then when the rubber banding starts to brake your motion, if you stop and start swiping back up, it doesn't just rubber-band back, it instantly snaps back like there's a missing animation.
I miss 3D Touch sooooo much I wish I kept my X or Xs the size is perfect. And I’ve hurt my hand so the 13 pro max is starting to feel cumbersome. Defiantly doing the pro next time not the pro max.
I wish still wish my SE 3 3D Touch!!! It was useful in my iPhone 7!

There is no way they’re letting the oldest supporter devices have access to live wallpapers when every other device cannot. I’d like to see the ability to have Live Photo wallpapers again in some capacity with iOS 17 anyway.
on my XR sometimes the depth effect works with my phone.... but maybe that was just once
Running iOS 16.3.1 on an iPhone 8 right now, surprisingly Snappy, although it does hang sometimes which is pretty frustrating when it happens

I actually just upgraded to the iPhone 14 from the XR. I used the XR from October 2020 to March 10th 2023
iPhone 11 Pro was the peak of Apple's iPhone design: round edges, not terrible battery life, OLED, fast enough.
Honestly I really disliked my 11 pro. I enjoyed the X more, and the 12 pro shape is a better design in my opinion. I felt the camera on the 11 pro was a downgrade in many ways.

Not likely, iOS 16 killed support for A10 devices. Typically after killing a large portion the following year is about stability and is offered to all the same devices as before. I expect iOS 17 will be about stability and will come to all devices running iOS 16

Yes, iPhone still get the longest support but on the other hand, Apple is not even bringing all features (especially of new iPhones) to only ONE generation old iPhones. Samsung for example does that. The Fold 4 has basically only one upgrade and that was a software dock. Yet they brought it to older Folds as an example. Apple tho? Nah, no action mode for iPhone 13. Smooth zooming between lenses in video? NAH. Stupidly exclusive to iPhone 14.

The form factor was annoying. It felt too small.
Everything from the XS MAX to iPhone 14 Pro Max has worked well for me.
I took iPhone X to South Korea for vacation and not only was the 256GB storage insufficient for my Travel Vlog, but it overheated easily.
Once we have 2TB Storage, I'll be completely satisfied.
