    Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
A wonderful talk showing that our sila, morality, must extend into our cyber-lives and world today. The Buddha discovered through his own efforts the truth of the cause and effect of our thoughts, words and deeds. He then connected this to our suffering in this life and beyond and is reflected in the Four Noble Truths.
As Buddhists we frequently ask for the five precepts which we follow, at a minimum.
Our devotion to sila gives others freedom from fear of being hurt or taken advantage of by us. This gives us, who keep the precepts, freedom from being hurt or misused ourselves by those with whom we share our time in samsara. With a foundation of sila we are most inclined toward making good choices in our actions (our kammas) and then eventually reaping the fruits (phalas ) of those good kammas.
Alternately, our bad actions (kammas) will only yield rotten fruit (phala) that we then try to brush off as bad luck or fate.
It is true that sometimes good people have bad things happen to them not related to anything they know of that would be behind it. But it’s better not to intentionally add more “bad luck” to our lives.
Thank you for this inspiring talk. With Metta,
    John

SADHU SADHU SADHU he says to me "refrain from typing unskillful words" and it is easier to do this than it is to write unskillful words because all you have to do is aim for the key and shoot your finger at it instead of manipulate the pen or pencil as it traces the letters across the page of paper
