    "Fashion" is fickle. Don't be "fashionable." Have some style. "Timeless Style" focuses on iconic pieces that have stood the test of time. This series is focused mostly on menswear, but some of these items are unisex as well.
    This episode: The @Chisos No. 1 cowboy boot. Cowboy boots have been a staple of American style for over 150 years, but can you still wear them in the modern age? Spoilers: Yes you can. You don't have to be a cowboy or live in Texas to wear cowboy boots, and the Chisos No. 1 boots are some of the best I've ever worn.
    Chisos provided me with the boots featured in this video, but all of the opinions expressed are my own.

Blame it on the TV & Movie Westerns from the 50s & 60s. Nice work with the review. The Chisos are my next pair of Cowboy Boots! living the good life in Louisville 😎

    After watching Kirby Alison’s videos on getting a custom pair of boots made, I really got a renewed appreciation for cowboy boots. To be honest, I don’t think I could pull them off, but I do appreciate the aesthetic. As long as like you said, you don’t try to go full giddy up.

    I’m in TN…I wear a cowboy hat, western shirt and always boots. Occasionally someone will yell to me: “where’s your horse?” If I’m in a bad mood I’ll say at your mother’s house, I’ll ride both later. If I’m in a good mood, I’ll respond with the truth: “ at my house “.
    We own a horse farm and I’ve worn boots all my life (I’m boomer Gen). Up till about 5- 10 years ago Lucchesse was THE go to boot. However they have plummeted in quality and are - for a large part- relying on their reputation. They still make a great custom product. The Chisos boot is a terrific value, and I believe the best off the shelf boot made today. Black Jack makes a great boot as well with many different styles/choices. I only wear snip toes so many other quality companies focus on the (now) popular square toe boots. I have bad knees and I prefer snip toes to easily get into stirrups. I own 3 pairs of Chisos and I’m glad they are getting recognition , well deserved.

    • @stuffandthingsyoutube
      @stuffandthingsyoutube  Před rokem +1

      Cheers! I went to a Lucchesse store while I was in Austin, and I would have to say that the quality of the Chisos seemed a cut above.

      @@stuffandthingsyoutube Lucchese still makes quality boots - the handmade higher end boots specifically and their custom boots. However you’ll need to start at probably around 1500 to get the similar quality found in Chisos. Yiu can probably get a goat or something around 1100-1200 custom done from Lucchese and those are better value than their 500-900 boots.

    I really enjoyed this video and your perspective! I bought a pair of magic black #1s after wearing a pair of Lucchese ropers for almost 10 years. I love those Ropers, but my Chisos (I’m up to four pairs now) are really something special. I switched from straight legs jeans in my regular size to Wrangler boot cut jeans a couple inches longer than I wear with regular shoes, and I’ve found I really like that look. And as a fan of flat caps, I appreciated your cap with the boots!

    I’m a Brit who wears cowboy boots! In fact I’ve about 15 pairs. However, I concur with your comment about how far one dresses “cowboy” in non-cowboy places. I’ve spent years developing my own western style that’s not so OTT it labels me as weird! I do wear a wide brimmed hat, but it’s an Australian Akubra that doesn’t look typically cowboy. A leather trucker jacket in winter completes my look with a mid-eastern shemagh as a scarf, rather than a bandera. One day, I hope to visit Chisos in Austin and get myself a pair, but to avoid a huge tax bill, that’ll have to wait! Great video, great boots and company. Thanks.

    I've recently taken an interest to cowboy boots - everything about them is cool! But I feel like an outsider, and the people these brands represent - I am not that type of person. However, after watching your video, I think my mind may be changed... like you said, they don't look so outrageous if you cover them up and don't go "full cowboy". Thanks for the talk at the end, dude. Awesome boots.

    I’m a Texan and I’ve been wearing cowboy boots for the majority of my life. There’s a common misconception that only cowboys wear cowboy boots, cowboy hats and other “western” wear and that just isn’t the case. It’s a cultural lifestyle that many people in this state embrace mainly because it’s how we were raised and it’s how we grew up. It’s just who we are.
    Bradley, if you really want to complete the ensemble…get you some Wrangler jeans and a Stetson hat! The general etiquette is… we wear felt hats from Labor Day to Easter…and straw hats from Easter to Labor Day. ;)

    Hey Bradley, great video. As a proud Texan, please do us a favor and don’t wear those jeans with your boots. Nothing wrong with the straight legged britches, just buy some with a longer length. Your pants should “stack” on top of your boots, and not just reach the vamp. Where I’m from, that’s an easy way to tell if someone is “borrowing” our style, or if they actually know how to dress. Just some friendly advice!!!
    And also, I agree about not over-doing it with western wear. As someone who is pretty sure I could pick out a drug store cowboy in a crowd, the goal is to wear it, and it look normal. You don’t want to stand out in the crowd, unless you’re going out, to an event, etc. Even then, you still don’t want to be the loudest person in the room. LoL
    Anyways, I hope you enjoyed your stay here in my home, I hope we were hospitable and showed you a good time!!! Keep the videos comin’!!!

    • @stuffandthingsyoutube
      @stuffandthingsyoutube  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching! I had them hitched up a bit in the video to show the boots, but they normally stack a bit on the vamp. I can never get jeans to stack too much though, because I'm tall and thin. Those jeans I was wearing (size 30 36) are about as long as they come for my waist size.
