I saw her at Wembley Arena London, I was right at the back and couldn't believe how powerful and clear her voice was. The only recording artist I saw live who delivered exactly what was on disc. We miss you Whitney.
Sade... the same👌
I saw her in London also and you're right, her voice was insane
I saw her in Tobago in jazz festival, and that was after all her trials, snd she still sounded wonderful, sk imagine if i had seen her in her prime, i felt like i was high on music, i miss her, but thank god her music lives on RIP WH
She’s amazing! Michael Jackson also delivers exactly what’s on recording!
Omg what year? How was it?
The most powerful female voice in human history. Mindblowing.
Yet Beyonce has triple amount of Grammys as Whitney which is why I don't indulge in award shows.
That's perhaps true. Nevertheless, she is very far from the caliber of Whitney and still falls short in the totality of the number of awards our Whitney had.
@@bonifaceonuh2499 Yes she is below Whitney's caliber but in reality she does indeed have way more awards than Whitney, Celine or even Adele for that matter which is why I said and I'll say again these award shows are bogus and full of crap.

Yes, so exciting!
A message to the future generations:
"Don't let Whitney Houston's songs die"
They never will.

Oh they want
I love Whitney, trying to get all ladies all over the planet to hear this song, its great
I totally agree 👍
She just looks like she’s having so much fun when she performs. A True Star. 💜
Insane natural charisma.... effortless. The Queen!
She always have fun when she perform especially in concerts and in live stages
I have to agree she did seem to be having so much fun! She looked really lovely here and her voice was excellent!

Whitney Houston would have turned 57 today. It's so incredibly sad that she is no longer with us.
She passed away 9 years ago today. Miss her!

One of my favorite MTV videos of 1987. I was 37 at this time & I wore out this cassette! Rest In Peace Whitney & Kristina 💋♥️💫🎤🌟
Did you buy cassettes (or perhaps vinyl records, CDs, etc) at JAMESWAY back in the day?
Whitney Houston in the 80's was unreal. There was little to no effort behind that voice which made her extremely unique and better than the rest. I wish I could open my mouth and have THAT come out of it. Such a wide range and clear sound. Unlimited vocal capabilities. Only in my dreams. I like how she ended the song and played with it.
Ikr. She doesn't have to try very hard, or use any auto tune to sound perfect like most singers now do. She's an icon.

People either don’t know or forget how truly great Whitney Houston was
@Shandra Smith Factss.
100% one of the best she’s gonna be missed forever
Whitney was a goddess
I won't forget. Her first album came out when i was in 5th grade.,.fell in love with her voice way back then
Incorrect, look at how much people love her in this comment section alone
Grew up listening to her and Michael Jackson every day. They are greatly missed! 🎤🎶
Those harmonies on the chorus. The vocal for this song just isn't talked about enough. It's insane. Imagine having to get up behind a mic and sing this.

No wonder she's THE VOICE 👑
Her power and tone was so crystal clear which almost feels like AI. When someone sings with that much power usually have some texture or rasp but Whitney’s voice literally paired clarity and power at the same time with soul and riffs and runs. NO ONE I heard can sing like this or close to it. the only person in history who could do this was michael jackson at the age of 11. once he turned into a teenager that stopped.
What a great talent, she is missed by many. Her music always makes you think about your own relationships.

I remember singing this and working of the note pitches.
I’m 41 and have been listening to this legend since I’m 5. Her style, class, and music is timeless. No one will ever compare or even come close to this magnificent master of a woman.

Compare that to the pop stars today who have to have all their body parts hanging out just to keep up with each other and to give us some good but not great songs. Here. Whitney Houston kept in classy. Kept her clothes on and gave us great music that will always be remembered

Not only is she the greatest singer of all time. But the most beautiful singer of all time too what an incredible combination.
I can't agree more with you. she was, and still is the ideal singer of all time.

I don't think she was the best looking but I do love her music and think she was an amazing singer and performer.

Gosh I never get tired of hearing this classic song, even my toddlers love it 😍! Rip Whitney
What a pretty woman ,hello my Beauty ?
I saw her live on July 6, 1991 at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, NC. This was just six months after her national anthem performance at the Super Bowl, and just over a year before The Bodyguard was released. Anyone around at the time knows The Bodyguard put her into the stratosphere with the likes of The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Prince. It firmly cemented her as a legend. Simply amazing.
It's funny that at the time, you don't completely understand the greatness you are witnessing. You know they are great, but history has not yet unfolded to fully understand it.
That must have one great concert!

The injustice has been corrected these days: Whitney entered The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I will always and only remember a girl with a wide smile, a divine voice and positive energy.
VICTIM OF YANK SOCIETY
Wasn't crazy about pop music growing up but at 52, hearing Whitney's singing again is a sublime experience. The world has been robbed of an amazing artist and all of her would be vocal finery. The loss is great.
I completely agree.... 52 turning 53 soon and there will never be another female talent on Earth comparable to Whitney Houston💕💕 We were robbed😭

Whitney's vocal range in her prime was absolutely mind-blowing
Even though it's not what made her THE GREATEST VOCALIST OF ALL TIME 🥇👑
some stupid haters used to deny Whitney had upper belts imagine 😂🙌
Whitney in her prime could do everything
She'd a crystal clear voice and velvet tone throughout her range
Her range had never no voids at all 😂❤️
Yes her vocal layering range was insane!!!!!!!! and all of that was her natural voice. i think this was a one a done moment because she didn’t perform this song live in this arrangement ever again. she went into the studio and killed it and said i will never kill my voice again. this song is almost impossible to sing with just amount of force and breath the chorus needs plus you have to be singing from the bottom of your diaphragm with D5 note. this song is crazy taxing vocally
@@keishawnlight OMG finally someone agrees
Now the world thinks Whitney's IWALY is most legendary and difficult vocal performance ever
But THE VOICE has a lot of absolutely impossible and difficult songs to replicate including original version of so emotional especially audio version released as lyric video recently on Whitney's channel, One moment in time (that end Free c#5 note as a sustained chest belt with earth shattering vibrato) and didn't we almost have it all
Btw
I have been telling people Whitney's SO EMOTIONAL is far more difficult vocally than Mariah's emotions
Whitney's voice is perfect all round in the song she's insane powerful mid and upper belts, coloratura/operatic quality agility and unrivaled dynamics and breath control as well as vibrato 🙏
Something Mariah's lacked compared to Whitney
Whitney had distinctive chest and HEADVOICE as well as pure power and vibrato
Whitney's voice had core🙏
@@Swahili14 I totally agree, i can talk about Whitney’s voice in the 80s all day. Arguable Whitneys voice was unmatched, no one was singing like her. especially, the songs from the Whitney Album, they were pop in nature, but a work of art vocally. She knew that which made it even better. cuz once Whitney’s voice touched it, it became a completely different song. IWALY can be difficult at times but i’ve seen it done beautifully by other artist through the years. But Her other singles are really difficult to sing. they are extremely vocally taxing and you have to at least have 3 octave range and sing comfortably at C#5. the only person who could do that was Michael Jackson, and that was when he was 11 😂. once he became a teen his vocal range became less and less. but yeah lol i love whitney
The BEST female voice off all times....one and only Whitney Houston!!!!

Voice, looks, class, style. Whitney.
The greatest singer of all time. And not only her fans say that! It's just a fact.
***** Would you please? He is considered a great artist but vocal wise he doesn't come close to Whitney Houston. Many singers are far better than Michael Jackson. Michael always had spectacular shows. In my opinion it's still a matter of taste though.
The vocal trinity are the greatest singers of all time Whitney
+metamorphosis743 There are many singers that have a better voice than Michael. Examples are Elton John and Stevie Wonder. Whitney has a far better voice than Michael Jackson. He doesn't have the same quality. Michael is a good singer and a great entertainer (although I prefer Whitney as an entertainer too, but I can understand why people prefer Michael given his spectacular shows). Michael had a longer career than Whitney but at the height of her popularity Whitney was very, very popular. Everybody knows Michael is not the best singer as in the number one ever. Of course he still is a good singer and his songs are very popular. He is a great entertainer and one of the most popular artist of all time.
in my opinion, Whitney & Michael have the best voices of all time. For Whitney, it's obvious why. for Michael, he had a very distinct voice, absolutely
different from every other singer. it's hard to describe.
+metamorphosis743 he wasn't saying that Michael Jackson WASN'T a good singer... Clearly he had a legendary career. But as far as vocal prowess, Whitney far surpassed him. It was what she was famous for. Where MJ's shows were flashy and grand, with a lot of dance moves (and lip-syncing), Whitney's were more simple and intimate: just her on stage with a mic. They were two very different artist, both talented and icons in their own right.
Talented powerful voice. Gone but never forgotten 💔 😢 ❤️
What a great singer! Gone but not forgotten! Remember that strong vocal of hers!
It's so beautiful listening to her harmonize with herself in the vocals, sounds so effortless to reach that higher pitch.
I always noticed the higher part of the backing. Amazing by itself.
@@eiddiegreen3826 Sure is!
That chorus!!!!!
Great imaginative lyrics, music and beautiful harmonic mixing. Nothing artificial and she was stunningly beautiful without having to use her sex appeal to be so. If only music was still like this. So naturally talented and gifted. So sad what happened to her. Same for the likes of MJ too. And in the acting world Heath Ledger and Robin Williams. The most talented often seem to be the most troubled it's so sad. She was nothing short of iconic and a musical genius. Her amazing talent and music will never be forgotten.
+Sean Hayes Yes, I don't get it. Why the most talented are so troubled. It's frustrating.
Pllm30 The line between genius and insanity is a very thin one indeed :) same for fame and insanity I would hazard a guess.

I'm confident enough in my masculinity to admit this is my favorite Whitney Houston song. It's the guitar riff 😁
Since I'm not black I don't want to speak on how some black people felt about Whitney in the 80s. But since I am white I feel reasonably qualified discussing how the vast majority of young white people felt about her in the 80s. Most white kids in the 80s usually had a specific genre that they identified with. New wave kids only listened to new wave, country kids only listened to country, headbangers only listened to heavy metal and hard rock. Whitney was one of the few artists who we all listened to. She made me feel alive as a kid in the 80s, she still does. There's no words to describe what she means to me.
Bottom line if you liked this type of music which she sang with gusto than you absolutely loved Whitney Elizabeth Houston💖
Frankly a lot of people might say that it was the Black community that ruined her! Especially when she first stepped on the music scene. They said she “Wasn’t Black enough & that she was a sell out!”
Her response which is just as iconic as she is was simply put.. “I don’t know how to sing Black or White! I just know how to sing”
But maybe just maybe if she didn’t get so much of that dumb shit from the Black community and get booed at the Soul Train Awards.. She wouldn’t have felt the need to act out the way she did! Or marry the grittiest hood rat she could!!
Maybe she might have ended up with Kevin Costner and she’d still be here?! Happy & still making hit after hit?!
RIP Whitney Elizabeth Houston💟✝️
I think 'so emotional' is even better the classic 'I wanna dance with somebody'
Michael Ching it actually has the same upbeat.. almost identical if you listen to them repeatedly
Both are best classics! You can't compare any Whitney Houston songs because all of her songs are the best

I can’t believe we can never listen to music like this that comes out in 2023. The 80’s was a great era for music and I wasn’t born when this came out but still love the song and it’s jam. Whitney Houston is a legend for music
I get so emotional thinking that Whitney is gone forever, and there will never be another Whitney Houston that will ever be born in this planet.
+metamorphosis743 I know and I respect the legacy left by MJ and I see and appreciate it, too. But we're talking about Whitney here because it's a Whitney video.
Of course , every artist is unique in his own way. There will never be another Whitney, but there still will be an another great artist some day
I would copy Whitney's look, clothing, hair and makeup, in the 80s. She was the role model for me of how a young Black woman should look. I had on a How Will I Know ensemble (dress, arm warmers and hair sash, all matching) the night I met my husband.
So glad that she chose to sing and not just model! I miss you, Ms Whitney!
