NOTE: I ripped the composed songs from the game files and put a lot of effort trying to organize every part of the song, listening in-game and attempting to fit each part with the next. They don't sound as great as the released album versions, but they're still good. Hope you like them :)

I assume what he's feeling is due to overshowcasing of Eurobeat throughout social media, same thing happened with the band 'Nickelback' with their more monotone songs playing in the radio, which sparked a negative reaction from a celebrity in a talk show and it sparked a butterfly effect that caused the hate of Nickelback all throughout the globe, people hate on Nickelback because it's hip and cool. It saddens me that this could potentially happen in the future to the Eurobeat music genre due to it's affiliation with Initial D. Luckily, i just listen to the music without giving a crap about what others think, just like i do with Nickelback.
These soundtracks fit the dark and mysterious atmosphere of the canyons perfectly.

Only these canyons know how many lives ended falling of the edge, look how many skid marks are going trough barriers. It's ultimate challange to race in there, many paid highest price for this by making a mistake or being thrown off by others of the road, probably there were hundreds of normal accidents. It shows how desolate these places are, they are old side roads in the mountains, with very rare traffic.
The beta version of the game had traffic during the Canyon Duels
The Main reason Carbon fascinates me to this day is that in technicality, it is (unless you Wish to Count the King racedays in Prostreet) the only game in the NFS series to have proper bossfights.

@@peari8676 they did, but they were mainly 1v1s or a typical race with one difficult opponent (Kurt's Killer Ride flashbacks)
This is kinda vague tho, how do you define a boss fight? NFSMW did this too but just didn't have literal death as a loss method

This track has strong eastern elements because race dueling via going down steep hills was done a lot in the mountains in japan.

yeah especially the drifting through the mountains. It was a big cultural thing back in 80s/90s in japan (hell. there's literally a anime based on these stuff. "Initial D" might wanna check it out, if you like racing). the developers of this game, have clearly taken inspiration from these stuff.
it's also not much of a coincidence that both NFS Carbon and FF Tokyo Drift came out in the same year of 2006

There's an official drifting school on mount fuji you can visit. Doesn't cost much, I was there on my vacation for 2 weeks and was a "Drifting Kohai", was taught by a real good driver who was also taught by the original drift king, who used the famous Toyota AE86. It was really fun, and when I go to japan the next time, I'll definetely start drifting again.

Man, canyon is probably the most intense type of racing I've ever seen, in the game it's not that much of a big deal, but in real life, just imagine: You are in a dark Canyon, sharp and difficult turns, no nitrous, no traffic, just pure driving, and you have to keep in mind that if you lose control and fall on the canyon, your car will be completely destroyed and you will probably die...
And yet you live, you will be down there, severely hurted and weak enough to scream amid the dark

DEVILLIONZ evo and corvette are the pretty competitive if used properly on canyon races I beat Darius 3 times with using the evo,supra and the corvette

2:54 is the best! I still remember that part of the race when you’ve made it through all the turns and now your just flying down the mountain, hitting jumps in the road, trying to pass the boss in front or keep them at bay until you cross the incoming finish line.

Hoppy the Mad Pencil Maybe Redview county ( Rivals city) is so rich to make supercars their pursuit vehicles like in Dubai. In the world of Need for Speed, racing is a major crime and in rivals, Zephyr made all racers united meaning Redview county has a war with racers and although it ain't realistic it's fun to think about it and what makes it even better is the city is more chaotic than CoD.

Flying down a winding road, cliffs on one side with little to no railing at 160mph around 2am with someone riding your ass... perfectly fitting music, I fucking loved this game.
We played a lot of NFSC with my brother.
A fews days ago I was driving onto a road called "High Peaks Road (Camino de las Altas Cumbres)" in my state. The road is, indeed, VERY VERY similar to the ones depicted at the Canyon in the game, with these bendings, twists and curves. My brother, who was at my side started to do the drums and the flute of this song, and i inmediatly remembered the game.
I was behind another car (its a 1 lane road so no overpassing, only in certain places) and he told me: "you are in orange". I inmediatly tried to get closer to him, but i drive a fuckin Ford Ecosport lol , so it took me a while. When i got near him he said "nice you are in the blue area", and i inmediatly realised my mistake: it was dangerous to be that near in that trail. But it was just a little bit and it was very fun.
Thanks for uploading this so i will make sure that i never listen while driving a fucking 4 cylinder suv that can roll over itself when going more than 165 kmh.

I know this is out of place but, just think about it. In the game it's always night time, people ask for street races, they go in the canyon going extreemly fast, and the music is creepy. This is a scary need for speed game ._.

Wolf in the stacked deck team... Oh I Couldn't pass him or get close to him and then yeah first round completed! Second round 68% around there he passed me at that point fuck it full throttle. My plan was to come to his rear wheels and ram into him. PASSED! 5.00 Secs left i was like: Come on this is the 15th try (around i was mentally ill at that point) PASSED! 2.50 NONONONO! PASSED 0.06 and i passed him and won the race. After the race i was like... Holy shit... Never man never again against you...
My car was an aston martin because the RX-7 wasnt fast but the aston couldnt steer...

Now this a song for an awesome racing game. It builds actual suspense and it fits perfectly with the canyon theme. None of that mumble rap and modern hip hop garbage we have in NFS Unbound.

Literally boomer speech. Carbon was my first nfs and it was flawed. I’ve played unbound and the bad music isn’t “mumble rap”. Rap/hip hop really fit the theme. The songs that wanted to stand out were the worst (example: ice cream song). Many boomers put nfs mw soundtrack with unbounds gameplay but it doesn’t work and these people won’t move on.

This came came out so close after F&F Tokyo Drift was released that I want to believe the developers saw the canyon race scene and stole that idea immediately for this game.
I know they were actually TOO close together so it must be a coincidence but I still think it's pretty funny.
I swear Tokyo Drift even used one of the canyon themes for the beginning of the canyon race between Sean and DK

I'm not sure if it's a samurai battle or an actual race on the unforgiving canyon. xD
General tips: If you fall off the canyon, you automatically lose, so slow down on corners. This also applies to your opponent. If they fall off, you automatically win. Nitrous and Speedbreakers are disabled.
Pursuing: The closer you are to your opponent, the more points you'll gain. Crashing into them will cause you to lose points, and if they get too far away, you have 10 seconds to catch up to them before you lose. You will automatically win if you can stay ahead of them for 10 seconds.
Pursued: The farther away your opponent is, the slower your points will drain, and if they bump into you by accident, you'll gain points. Get to the end before you run out, or you lose. You'll also lose if they get ahead of you for 10 seconds, but If you can pull far enough away from them and stay that way for 10 seconds, you automatically win.
The question is: Are exotics useful in canyon duels?

IIRC the only reason the M3 is an Exotic is the manufacturer (BMW _is_ a german manufacturer, after all)

I never managed to ram Darius off the canyon. It seemed like his car was heavy as a truck every time I hit him, so I always beat him the 'intended' way
I have always beaten Darius clean. My mentality is that fighting dirty would make you no better than him, and he deserves to be humiliated fair and square.
