It's a 2.5 card combo. You need t.g. limiter removal (very specific card) and a t.g in hand. That's specific enough criteria to say it's a 2 card combo. And the discard is the .5. Granted, like you stated, the discard can also add to the combo depending on what it was. This combo also works if you open any t.g. and limiter removal, even the ones you'd search. Honestly, it's better to open one of salamander or raptor because then you get to really pick the moneter you summon from hand off trident launcher. Essentially, t.g. limiter removal, either salamander or raptor, and any t.g. should result in an extra synchro on top of this play, as if calamity wasn't enough.
