A data leak in the UAE has revealed details of foreign property owners in the Emirate of Dubai. Indians emerged on top of the list with over 29,000 owners and 35,000 properties worth a cumulative $17 billion. Pakistan slotted in behind India, with politicians like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari featuring on the foreign owners' list. More worryingly, the list also includes drug lords, sanctioned businessmen, money launderers and terror financiers. The embarrassing leak comes months after the UAE was removed from the terror finance watchdog FATF's grey list. UAE officials have rejected the report, saying it takes the integrity of the global economy "very seriously". Palki Sharma tells you more.

If India does not have an iron clad system to catch criminals like Nirav Modi and the Shekasarias who flee the country after duping Banks of thousands of crores and taking up huge mansions in Dubai, what can that country do? Why does our Customs and Airports allow such criminals to flee when the whole country knows their antecedents.?

I work with a company who is developer making villa and renovation only in palm Jumeirah. To get approval from Dubai municipality we collect all the details of the owner. My company have most of the owners data. Even sharuk khans passport too.
