Heard about Matteo Mancuso & watched some video of him. It was so refreshing & reawakened my love of guitar music. Hoping to see him sometime this year. I'd like someone to try and confirm this, I had read he was quoted as saying he was considering a medical education to become a doctor. This isn't a joke, and I hope it's not true, but of course, he should choose what he does with his life.
But does anyone have knowledge about this, or might have seen the quote I saw? I've tried to find it but I've watched so many videos and have read several interviews so have no idea where I ran across it.
Certainly the guitar community would feel a huge loss from what both Vai and DiMeola are seeing in him, along with all of us "normal" people!...

While he's certainly skilled, his training in guitar is evident in his improvisational abilities. However, he lacks a distinct personal style. This contrasts with Tim Henson, who possesses a unique style but struggles with improvisation. In my opinion, a truly exceptional musician can craft both iconic riffs and songs while also excelling at improvisation. While he's talented, he's ultimately overrated.
