Toto was right. Nobody comes back from a race they won and think how and why they did that. When you lose is when you start to introspect and improve.
Thats true. However Abu Dhabi 2021 - they were definitely cheated by the FIA stewards, its just not debatable. The FIA changing the rules on the fly during the safety car isn't anything anyone can predict, train for or prevent. If the stewards of a race are determined to give a beneficial outcome to one driver or another, thats entirely beyond your control.
How does Sir Lewis Hamilton MBE process having a manipulated loss (2021 Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and similtaneously, F1 World Drivers' Championship Title), forced upon him? (A totally blatant theft in front of a 2 billion strong global audience).
Sir Lewis joined The Motor Racing Immortals by viewing it from a more panoramic perspective, with consumate humility and gentlemanly sportsmanship.
Also, a potentially career-ending catastrophe is mentally mastered, by already achieving at 37 years of age, as a motor racing gladiator, (like Sir Lewis), the status of a Legendary, Global Superstar and Britain's plus The World's First and To Date, The Only Formula1

& 7 or is it 8?
Formula1 Grand Prix World Drivers' Championship Title triumphs.
What’s really impressive about Mercedes this year was that they were so bad that they were seen as a distant third. Now they might actually surpass Ferrari in the last race which was unthinkable at the halfway point
The new aero rules really messed them up so bad. Sir Lewis was so frustrated with the car because they could not figure it out for most of the season, which is a shame because the car itself is so reliable. Brazil 1-2 was an incredible recovery for the team. With RB having wind tunnel testing penalty next season, Merc is poised to really get back into the top.
It is not hard to see how Ferrari implodes through the season
Na they about 6 to 8 tenth behind again.
Agreed, Russell has been terrific at extracting the maximum from that car. If Lewis had done the same they couldve finished #2
@@daarom3472 considering lewis was the test pilot for the car in the first half means he had a test car every race. That made it difficult for him to adjust as every car was different every race weekend. Russell didn’t have to go through this.
fantastic mini documentary. bravo to everyone involved in producing this, really captures the sport well.
amazing, they had lunch in monace, race track at austin, visit the factory... bwoah...
Lewis did not win 7 WDCs in a row but Mercedes did from 2014 to 2020 with Rosberg winning in 2016. Lewis won the others
he said "team"
@@BOZ_11 Nope. He said "Lewis Hamilton would win seven straight drivers championships". Which is wrong. Because Rosberg won the one in 2016. Hamilton will never beat Schumacher's record of 5 WDC in a row.
@@B0XMATTER hamilton shares the record with schumacher, also it was michael's son who deliberately crashed into latifi to cause the pace car to deploy 🤷🏼♂
EDIT: michael masi was sacked over his decision to have a partial unlapping, breaking the rules and causing his termination. we all know lewis is the true leader, but we forget and move on
@@BOZ_11 deliberately? wow
@@brendonpitcher5611 u know daddy phoned later that night with glowing praise for his little boy.
Whoa did not expect F1 content here on Bloomberg
ask bloomberg about ignoring FTX insolvency rumors this summer that they didnt act on
All sports are serious businesses.
@@doge0069 "Act on"? What exactly are they supposed to do? They reported on them based on what was known at the time, and they've been covering how shady most crypto institutions have been for a LONG time.
I've never pulled for Merc but I have always admired Toto. The guy just has so much passion for the sport. He wears his emotions on his sleeve. You can see it on his face at all times. When things aren't going well he looks gutted. When they are he looks exuberant. You can also see it when he's angry. Like when he slammed the headset down at Jeddah 2021 and smashed it to smithereens! That's passion.
The will to focus on your goals despite the noise and disappointment is why Toto Wolff is my role model.
I've grown to respect Toto Wolff more this year than ever before. It's easy to look cool when you're on top and everything is going your way. But the way he kept the team together and had everyone working patiently towards improving on a challenging car, while maintaining a clean and positive team spirit, without ever giving in to easy blame or outbursts, eventually even achieving enough success with podium finishes and the win in Brazil to threaten Ferrari's second place... That really showed his mettle and his quality as a manager and a human being. I can't wait to see the results of all that hard work in 2023.
Great! Mini-documentary. What liberty media has done with F1 is great, a stark difference from previous ownership of Bernie Ecclestone.
Wow this was incredibly well done. And it's not just American girls who have a lil crush on Toto. What a G.
It is physics not mystics - well said Toto!
Losing his father at such a young age, he still found a way to thrive. I may not be a Mercedes fan in the sport, but I respect Toto. Regardless of my preference in teams, one can't simply ignore the accomplishments of Toto Wolff.
Gratuitous statement
I'm sorry it's not Toto but Ross Brawn who deserved the credit but that's my personal opinion. Ross Brawn helped 3 different teams help win F1 championships, most famous of them were Schumacher championships and then Brawn GP. I think Ross Brawn was instrumental in laying the foundation blocks at Mercedes F1 team only to be squeezed out.
Leclerc also lost his father at a very young age. I admire his mental toughness too.
@@saimadhavarao you can lay out a legacy and all it takes is 1 incapable person to ruin it. Brawn does deserve the credit but let's not discredit Toto's leadership
Great leaders are hard to come by and Toto is one.
Fact check: 6:45 Lewis did not win 7 straight WDC and 1 off them is not with Mercs
Edit: added not with Mercs
One of the best videos by Bloomberg in a while. Thumbs up.
0:06 Someone should tell him that Loeb and Citroen won 9 WRC titles in row :)
You just did hih! Get a chin ... don't be so berating
The last time the Las Vegas Grand Prix happened is when Station Casinos was as young as a kid. I was in my negatives at that time amid the days of original electronic gaming.🏎
Brilliant video! Thank you to all that made it possible
1:51 "Things happen for a reason..." - A guy named Wolff, is anyone surprised by this answer?!
Really interesting piece 👍🏽👍🏽 Thanks!
What a great mini documentary on Toto & the sport. I’m a huge fan of him and his wife, the power couple of F1. 💚💚🌱
Very nice vid, thanks.
Saw this after Silver arrows 1-2 in Barcelona. This hits different!!!
Do you mean Interlagos, Brazil?
toto is the man. made it all himself. big kudos.
That was wonderful. Terrific inside perspective. Really enjoyed that.
Better documentary than Drive to Survive
I'd love to work in an environment with people like that. Great little doco this.
Toto, Lewis and now George are going to be great.
6:45 Not all 7 with merc…..
Lewis won 6 with merc 1 with Mclaren
mclaren was in partnership with mercedes at the time, not just a supplier. they were mclaren-mercedes f1 team
Lewis didn’t win 7 WDCs in a row. He has 7 total - he lost in 2016 to Rosberg
Team won 8
Nico Rosberg who have beaten Lewis Hamilton in equal machinery
He won 6 in Mercedes, not in a row.
he said "team"
skill issue for hamilton
Loved this. Toto has the best partnerships; his wife, his team and Hamilton. I think he's probably the best team principal on the grid.
A Formula 1 documentary on Bloomberg waoooh Congratulations to the producers.
Wow! The title screamed cliché but it turned out there's something else to it. Bravo!
Factual error : Lewis Hamilton didn't win 7 straight drivers championships. He won 2008,2014,2015 ,2017-2020
Really interesting document.
That question has many answers like * Losing forces you to reexamine*.
Great piece
Wow Susie has a Toto Austrian accent now 😂
am literally shivering to have to relive Abu Dhabi 2021...
One my heros in F1,TOTO
Nice one Bloomberg
19:42 Another infinitely flawless insight from a man named Wolff: "We will not take it for granted.. that winning a championship is easy. So I believe there is always something good in getting it wrong, even though it feels difficult..."
Imagine that, the top drivers from around the world, using companies like Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc to race vs their own versions of immaculate as well as amazing tippidy top super cars(that are forced to use only certain parts due to trying to make races more about the drivers and less about the machines) might be a challenge at some point. Who woulda guessed. I'm starting to like this guy Wolff, I am.
The best video! We love you Susie 😂🖤
Redbull has been trying to slow down Mercedes since 2014, Christian Horner literally asked the FIA to just slow down Mercedes in 2015 because redbull could not compete with their engine. After so much lobbying from redbull the FIA eventually banned most advantageous innovations that Mercedes had, such as DAS and party mode...and even that wasn't enough and Mercedes still beat redbull in 2021 and now they lost their engine advantage redbull are the best team again because they have the best aerodynamic team. As Ferrari said aerodynamics are for those who can't build engines and that is why redbull lobbied to freeze engine upgrades a year earlier than it was supposed to freeze.
wrong info around 6:55 but great video nonetheless
They all live in Monaco, the drivers and bosses.
Toto Wolff reminds me of Martin Bryde from Ozarks
Do a Bloomberg Quicktake on how you failed to put out a story months ago about FTX's fraud even though you were alerted to it, in detail, but didn't want to spook your advertisers.
I think a lot of us would find that interesting.
Wow! Suzie now talks like the Terminator, just like Toto.
Bloomberg quick takes kick ass
Hammertime
They changed the title - toto must have called them and cursed
What was the previous title?
No Mikey no.... I got it wrong
At 6:47 you say lewis hamilton would win 7 straight driver championships but Nico Rosberg won in 2016. How can you say such a thing?
10 is a good number...
And so is 44
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Famous last words.
No seat belts at 3:50.
Love Toto! Hope mercedes bounces back next year and win again 🏆🥇
Mercedes knew their concept failed and choose to sit around; zero pod concept failed...
Monaco has a road without a speed limit. It is where drivers go as fast as the max! NO ENTRANCE FOR POLICE TO GRANT DRIVERS A TICKET.👑
Toto was given, a well built team, by Ross Brawn. Ross is the true creator of this team.
Keeping said well built team is a talent in itself. Don't take that ways from him. Let's not forget that he's also responsible for Williams last win in Spain 2012.
As a big Formula 1 fan - Lewis Hamilton would win 7 straight WDC is just plain wrong at 6:45
Lewis won WDC in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. That is 6 WDC = 2 WDC + 4WDC, with Nico Rosberg's 2016 WDC sandwiched in between.
Lewis won 7 consecutive driver's titles? Really?... The one that made the script doesn't know about the sport. Sure there were many successive championships, but Nico Rosberg got one in the middle, and Lewis's first championship was in 2008 with Mclaren.
That woman was dead wrong about the “FIA set up to not have anyone win 8 times in a row”. When teams who win the the year prior receive more funding than those who don’t.
Although, this came from someone who said that a win is made up of thousands of seconds...
Not sure who’s paying this woman for classes, but I would do it just to meet Toto.
Hamilton did not win 7 championships with Mercedes, he won 6 (2014, 2015, 2017-2020) and lost to Nico Rosberg in 2016 in equal machinery.
That marriage 🤐
wow so impressive using the best car by far wow
Close the doors and put on your seatbelts😆
How can Bloomberg forgot about the Monaco based CZcamsr who has more subscribers than Lewis Hamilton on the same platform, and also beat him for a WDC in EQUAL MACHINERY?????
Merc team should've gone out that moment at Yas and strick the whole governing body and that decision. Politics doesn't work every day.
So in short: F1 is now Facebook and Facebook is now Meta and Google is still unable to properly index them 😂😂😂
Hes a Bond villain.
Sorry to be that guy, but we don’t call it the F1 circuit we call it the calendar bc the tracks are called circuits. Also didn’t win 7 consecutive titles (7 non the less, still remarkable). Otherwise great video, it’s cool to see the business side of the sport.
Actually Lewis did not win straight championships, he won 1 in 2008 with McLaren then 3 from 2014-2016 then again from 2019-2020 with merc
No Mikey no no no..
Toto Wolff...every man wants to be him and every woman wants to be with him.
22:25 bet he was racing Lewis at that point
he should say "8 constructors in a row". F1 on cares about the drivers, which is now max 2 in a row bud
Toto, "we have 3 in the usa, 1 in mexico, and 1 in brazil so we have 5 in the americas now" I guess he never heard about Montreal....lol
This year Merc really show why they are able to be the only team to win 8 constructor championship in a row! And I truly believe that the 9th will coming really soon
6:45 Lewis won 6, not straight, Nico Roseberg won in 2016.
Sir Lewis Hamilton won with McLaren in 2008, then with Mercedes in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. It wasn't 7 championships in a row. Nico Rosberg won with Mercedes in 2016.
It was McLaren-Mercedes at the time
@@BarstucksCoffee yes but Mercedes was the engine supplier and the title sponsor. McLaren was the actual team.
No Michael that’s so not right
Nico Rosberg, his friends, Fans and family all dislike this video
NO MIKEY THAT IS SO NOT RIGHT
lol nice FTX logo
Maybe it was the FTX sponsorship. All jokes aside, they’ll be back next year.
the only reason an F1 fan is gonna hate toto wolff is bcs he keeps winning every season including last season (constructor's championship)
Toto isnt the owner tho.. so why the comparison with kraft.. nvm he owns 33% of the team 🤣
They just put every American power couple to shame.
Driving with doors open... Totally average person type thing to do. Nothing to see here folks. Keep walkin'
Totooooo
Hamilton won 6 titles with Mercedes not 7. He won 1 with Mclaren in 2008. He moved to Mercedes in 2013 and everyone was laughing at his decision to leave Mclaren for midfield team like Mercedes hilariously Hamilton broke most records with Mercedes lol
cant wait for the rocketship mercs are building for next year!!!
Anyone who knows shit about shit when racing the worlds most bad ass vehicles is concerned was already a fan of F1 here in America. To act like Wolff didn't know that out of 330+ million people and potential viewers of F1 that there's an obvious fuckload of people here in the US that absolutely love F1 but probably don't subscribe to "The Racing Channel" or whatever the fuck it was ever on...
But I'm pretty sure I can speak for a large quantity of Americans when I say that CZcams has filled in for whatever reasons F1 isn't more "spammed" across our available stations. Because there's little to no reasons why someone can't point out how incredible the sport is, the driver skill levels, the absolute amazing amount of nonstop concentration one would have to engage with during any event, never mind the endurance ones...
Anyways, in short. F1, Yes please. Sincerely,
American audiences
Lewis, the GOAT of drivers.
Toto, the GOAT of team principals.
Colin Chapman. Principal and technical director through his entire career.
Sorry, but Max is the best
Music……the CURSE of You Tube
can someone tell me what glasses is Toto Wearing?
Lewis Hamilton did not win 7 straight drivers titles, Nico Rosberg won in 2016
