Betty lived another 30+ years after Lucille’s passing, she kept speaking so fondly of Lucille always
Well that's because Lucille ball was born in the 1910's
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar She was born 1911
@@jaymcfadyen942 do you know what the s in 1910s means?
@@goodboi1725 Do you know people often contribute to a conversation by providing additional information without having any negative intentions? Jay was simply providing the actual year she was born. He wasn't disagreeing or correcting anyone.
I need to be right and prove you wrong and prove that I'm better because I know more..... What's that called? Um um um oh oh oh it's at the top of my tongue....... Ego. Duh
Betty White has been 70 for 400 years...
Her hair right there is literally dyed Platinum Blonde. She was only 50 something here

What a loss. And at the same time what a triumph her life was

A legend calls another legend a legend!
Which is why everyone loves Betty White.
And they would both be correct!
It was Legendary!
What is a legend? I believe it means a story from the distant past, or a great person who is no longer living.
@@moonbeamskies3346 In rare cases like Lucy's a person can be a legend in their own time. Lucy was tremendously talented as a comedianne (spelling unsure lol) and reached the height of television fame for that reason. She became a legend. I loved to watch her😊
Oh my god Betty White Lucille Ball AND CAROL CHANNING?!! SQUAD ROLLED UP
How did the room not explode from all that awesome?!
You forgot Dick Martin?!

AMAZING
Lucille Ball died about 6 months after this show was filmed. She's 77 years old here, about 11 years older than Betty and Carol. Betty and Lucy had been friends for 30 years since their TV shows were being filmed in the same studio. Carol Channing and Lucy had been friends since the mid-70's when both had had successful Broadway shows. They commonly supported each other at public events and they are clearly on this show just to look out for Lucy. The person ringing the buzzer didn't stand a chance!
I started reading an autobiography and I can't remember whose it was but Lucy was in it. I think it was Carmen McCrae's. The book had stories of how Lucy and her, "crew" of boss lady's played poker, smoked, cussed & drank like sailors. These were "broads," and proud of it. My today's ecclectic dream girlfriend group starts w/Laura Bush(don't sleep on her- her own career, married a pres, raised them girls proper as she could, helped hubby straighten up & hung in there for the fun...grandkids😍 props regardless of pol) bc Lucy's gone. Then🤔🤷
Both Lucy and Carol Channing played “Mame”.
@@SWLinPHX I😍Mame!
I’ve never seen Betty be this serious about anything irl, that just shows how iconic and legendary Lucille Ball is
I'm at an age where I'm starting to think about the world me and my generation are going to leave behind for Betty white.
LOL
The Kardashians lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
cute.
Betty is just so pure
The look in Betty's eyes and the eye roll just all of it! She was absolutely dead serious. I don't think I've ever seen that look on her face ever in an unscripted roll. I dearly love Betty and Lucy, both incredible women, and legends.
No, she wasn't serious. She was acting angry to be funny. She and Lucy knew very well how the game worked.
I have feigned anger many times because it was funny to do so. It's funnier if you really commit to it for a while.
Betty was a great actress and a great improvisationalist.
@@danieldougan269 I honestly think Betty felt bad for Lucy because she really looked like she was having a major "senior moment".
Lucy loved Betty’s kindness.
She sold the ad lib to perfection.
only Lucy is a legend, Betty was funny but really a supporting player
Betty White just looks at the camera with the most badass expression I've ever seen- "Don't Buzz a legend."
She's such a badass. A perfect example of when 2 show your nerve. Go Betty! A tru3 friend
Betty became legendary too. Rest peacefully Betty White, you'll be missed.

@@jorgepadilla8392 She actually is. Apparently she had so much character The U.S Secret Service had her permission to digitise her personality before she passed away physically as part of a future network of holograms of dead celebrities who were universally loved to deliver bad news to ordinary people to soften the blow and distract from any government incompetence.
Tom Hanks has an implant in him right now compiling data and one of the perks of this programme is you have a top secret A.I app being designed that means it gives that programme consciousness enough to freely surf the Internet forever as a digital being.
So one day when that app is finished she will log into her CZcams account and read your comment and I would say she would insult you but she's overwhelmingly positive so she'd probably just ignore you as I'm guessing most people do
Betty White has been old my whole life..and she’ll be old after I die too.
But Betty doesn't seem as old here. What are you 5. Lol
I totally agree! I am 39 and grew up watching the Golden Girls, which she plays an old woman. So to me, she’s always been an old woman.
@@danielrobinson9270 She was nearly 67 here lol
Daniel Robinson Yes, I’m 5 years old🙄 how’d you guess? She’s in her late 60’s in this video so wtf are you talking about? 😒
Katie Dawson Yep lol I’m 31, so I know exactly what you mean.
What strikes me so much is how you may not hear it in her voice but you can see it all over her face how angry Betty was when that happened. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. That’s a true friend right there.
Yeah. We all know Betty is one of the greatest artists still here. But also what an amazing Human Being. Such a Lady. Big mouth and all though :V Love Her and Lucille Ball. I was born the year she died. God bless her soul were she is and may she rest in peace.
She was LIVID!
You must have your own plot in your head. She made a joke that's all..she is a comedian. They cant help it
Also I think lucille may have been showing signs of mental confusion and slow thinking due to old age. Betry's comment would take the focus out of it. THAT IS THE TRUE KIND GESTURE.
I saw it in her face and Betty was bloody serious too, you don’t buzz a legend. Rip.
@@sitcomsTV Lucy was showing the after affects of a recent stroke. She had to re-learn how to speak properly, as well.

Working for Lucille Ball, would certainly be an amazing experience. Living in northern Canada, my most exciting experience was catching large Jack fish, while fishing with my Dad. 😊 And watching shows with these legends of comedy and entertainment was also a great part of my youth.
Stay well...🤓
As hard as it obviously was for Ms Lucille Ball at this point, she was a trooper and hung in there! Ms Betty White's defending her is GOLDEN - no pun intended!
Thank you for the memories of these great Ladies!
I love how she even made Lucy laugh if you make Lucy laugh you know you are funny.
No one commented this but it seems like she was trying to give the clue with physical comedy she went to totally sitting there stiff and then realize you had to use words and that's why it took so long...I saw it
Sherry S I’m glad you commented this! I thought the same thing! Lucy knows what she’s doing
That's what I thought too.
It's not charades. She just had a huge brain fart.
Betty's right you don't buzz a Legend
I agree
that immediate reaction of betty after the buzz and lucy's reaction to that. treasure.
Now they can play again together. Rest in Peace Betty
Keep in mind that Betty White is the legend of Password. She had every right to call anyone out.
1:32 “You don’t buzz a legend!” Betty White about her friend Lucille Ball.
It takes one to know one!
No lies defected

She was PISSED.
Thanks for the OBVIOUS Heather.
All the legends are reunited
The buzzer guy went home that night, told his family he had to buzz Lucille Ball, and got put in his place by Betty White. No one in the history of buzzers had a more eventful day than he did.
One legend sticking up for another, how legendary.
I hope Betty White lives forever
She didn't 😭😭
She will in our hearts
Legends never really die😇🕊
1:32 the smile lucy has, reminds me of the last smile my grandma had when she had lung cancer. It was hard for her to laugh and breathe. I miss her.
💔 Lucy reminds me of my grandma, too. That last smile 💔
I think that really why Betty said something. She saw her friend struggling to breath and felt wrongly buzz. It very painful to see after losing an uncle to cancer. They share a lot of the same mannerisms overall
Hope you find closure and peace.
@@reneelagrandeur7220 Lucy wasn't struggling to breathe and she did not have cancer. Yes, she would be dead in less than a year, but it was from a ruptured aorta.
Notice how after Betty's remark how laughing so heartily makes Lucy look instantly younger!
Damn right Betty. They better put respect on Lucy’s name!!! The same way we presently and will continue to put it on yours. R.I.P. and eternal love to you both.
There will never be another Lucy. It was sad to see this, because this was practically the beginning of the end for her. The health problems she had towards the end of her life contributed to her being a recluse. The cancellation of her show Life with Lucy and the death of Desi did much to hurt her.
One of the best talents Hollywood ever had. I'm happy to see Betty White is still alive. I wish her the best that she will reach age 100 and beyond.
R.I.P. Betty White who came up short 17 days
Glad Betty White called them out. She was rightfully pissed off.
She knew she was struggling and tried to cover for the awkward moment. Very sweet of her.
The talent on that panel is astounding! Those women are all legends.

Its how serious she is while everyone jokes. Betty's a real one ♡
They're together right now, having a drink. Xo Rest with love Betty.
The love of my life defending the other love of my life
You wouldn't call them your lives I'd you knew what they truly are/were.
This is Betty paying it forward for the legendary status she’s got today
I love these old game show episodes. It really showcases how clever these "women of television" were. They may have played ditzes and housewives because those were the times but they were smart, clever, astute women who helped make radio, television, film and theatre what it was. Trailblazers all of them. Carol Channing included.
I just found out on a channel that Ida Lupino was Hollywood's first female director. Apparently her workers called her Mother. She got them to give respect and work for her acting as such. Honey, can you do this for mother? I only knew of her from the Lucy and Desi Comedy Hour episode where she was too funny with her deep cute yet cracking voice
R.I.P Betty White... You'll forever be missed 😭
Oh my heart, RIP Betty 💜💙
She wasn’t playing when it came to buzzing Lucy. True friendship right there. Rip Betty, I hope you all are catching up right now.
Wow! Betty White, Dan Rowan, Lucille Ball and Caroll Channing! It's like I'm 13 all over again! They were all legends.

“It’s her eyesight, not her brain.”
And, this underscores how gracious, quick-witted, and smart, Betty White was.

RIP Legend Betty White
Lucy WAS and IS a legend...forever immortal
It seemed to me that Lucy was just trying to decide what clue to give for "Stiff" rather than struggling with memory loss as is stated in the description. Either way, Betty was a loyal defender of her friend in this segment.
I noticed she was sweating too. She was not feeling well at all, but still handled herself like a pro.
I took it as she was acting out the word. She couldn't think of a synonym so she used her body language
She had that searching attitude that those with memory loss have, whether due to stroke or other causes. I’ve seen it many times.
I don't think Betty would have had that reaction if that's all it was. She didn't smile or play it off after, and she rolled her eyes.
There are many synonyms you could use for "stiff," but then it becomes The Match Game, and nobody wants that!
Rest in paradise Betty ✨💛
Rip Golden Legend!
Rip Betty White!!!!
Lucille didn’t make it three more months after this aired… she was indeed a legend!!!
On the other hand Betty White is being modest, she has every right to be a legend
Really didn't know that she look so good there
She looks in poor health there....
May they both rest easy, they were incredible people!
She played Rose so well, it still catches me off guard sometimes how clever and witty she really is.
It's shouldn't be a surprise. She was a great actor and the funniest to come from this era.
Betty and Rue McClanahan were originally supposed to play the opposite roles on "The Golden Girls" based on roles each had previously played on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Maude" respectively. Betty's character on TMTMS was man-crazed, and Rue's character on "Maude" was an airhead.
They didn't want to be typecast, so they swapped roles at the last moment.
Both Betty and Lucy are legends. I am glad that we still have Betty still going past 90!
Betty White is so witty and smart! Probably why she’s lived so long! Doesn’t do anything stupid. Always wearing a smile! Her timing here is impeccable too!
Thank you for being a friend, Betty! May you rest in eternal peace!
Words said by a legend to another legend. There's A LOT of talent on that stage!!
Also the best Password player ever. Love you Betty. I loved the tweeter who figured out she did live to be 100--count the leap years she lived thru--you get 24 extra days which more than add up to the less than 3 wks. till her 100th b'day.
She still technically existed and was basically full-term in her mom's womb 100 years ago today as well. Think of all the people who were born prematurely, and whose actual birthdays should have been weeks later.
I love how the guy backstage was just like "fuck it" and draped the poster over the backdrop lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As the kids say, 'Game respecting game'. Betty, you are just as much of a legend. National treasure :)
My great grandmother was Lucille's teacher in high school. According to her, Lucille was true to her brand in class, and there were little quirky/goofy moments that seemed like they'd be part of an I Love Lucy episode long before Lucille ever hit the spotlight. For example, Lucille dropped her pencil and it rolled a small distance from her desk. Rather than disrupt class by getting up from her seat to fetch it, she tried to discreetly get it by hooking her ankles and keeping her knees on her seat while stretching herself downward to the floor and as far as she could extend her reach to try and get it. Of course, this spectacle was NOT the discreet move she'd hoped it would be, and my great grandmother described turning around from the blackboard and looking at her students and seeing Lucille contorting herself nearly out of her desk and she said she'd never forget the expression on Lucille's face when she said "Lucille, are you alright?" because it was literally that trademark wide eyed look with the "o" mouth. Lucille Ball was never less than 100% genuine.
MS White tell it like it is!!!! Once upon a time you actually had to have talent to be immortalized in Hollywood. I am lucky enough to have been around when these Actors and Actresses where killing it.
No actually Betty White is Lucille ball actually killing it right now more than any other females in Hollywood. By a mile
"Scared the hell outta me!" LOL
It's funny hearing a legend like that cuss. LOL!
The technology of 1988, a giant cardboard card operated by poor old Tom in the back! LOL!
Those were the days.. people actually engaging with each other , eye to eye.. whether you liked it or not .. the only screen you had was at home and weighed 60 lbs.
This was the age when Diana still had to spin the letters. She didn't just tap them on the side.
It's more charming than the way game shows are done now. Think of all the jobs computers have stolen because of stuff like this! :p
@@mercurydude Not true. The computers must be programmed and operated by someone... they also need upkeep, service, upgrades and maintenance.
