The biggest impact is that amazing color drenching! The green has transformed it. It's brave and bold! Which, unfortunately I am not. With the butcher block counters ,its incredible! I like the white ceiling and window trim and farmhouse sink for contrast. The brass is gorgeous with that color. The color drench curtains are genius. There ,but not there. The view out the windows of walls of green trees is beautiful! Love the bold print color of the living room rug, with the leather chairs!!!!! Kind of a RL feel. But ,oh my goodness... my favorite is the little kitchen desk with that amazing stag head on the wall!!!!! Love, love , love!!!!

One thing is very obvious. The women in your family have great design sense...all different but all well done. One thing I love about this sister's home is all the real plants. Fake greenery just doesn't cut it for me. Other than the great look, it is calming to nurture plants and watch them grow.

I love fresh flowers and have real potted plants but most of us can not afford real bouquets very often,especially if we want them in several rooms
It is nice that Jessica kept the solid oak cabinets and was not afraid to paint them. They are beautiful!

Her home is beautiful, I do love the green color, and painting it all the same color is very soothing. I would love chairs around her dining room table that match the ones at the bar. The leather looks beautiful with the green.

Oh I love the green. Re-did my bedroom green and doing my kitchen green too. With butcher block as well. Looks beautiful. It's helping me with my own decorating to see what it would look like. Your sister has an eye for decorating, like you. Thanks for sharing. ❤🎉

I have a 90 yr. old farmhouse on 80 acres. We've actually added leaded & stained glass windows into the walls, and added 2 built-in leaded glass cabinets in the dinning room.(They came from a 110 yr. house0 I found a old wavy glass door w/a window w/ a beautiful sunburst carvings that I use for a pantry door, I got a pantry decal from E-bay and it looks so charming. We re-vamped our kitchen fireplace and used a old pump organ for a top and it's beautiful & eye-catching, one of a kind. We installed a old claw foot bathtub, and used old bead board from a 150 yr. old church.
Good for you! I love it when people restore an old house, rather than trying to modernize it. My house is 116 years old and I adore every nook, cranny, quirk and character it gives us.

I absolutely love your sister's home! Green is one of my favorite colors and I recently painted my entire downstairs a sage green and just love it! Her artwork is amazing and her painting her kitchen cabinets has given me such inspiration for my tired old cabinets. I love her fireplace and the green couches are gorgeous! Beautiful home!!

Thank you for sharing your sister’s lovely home. This video has answered a HUGE decorating Problem for me. I’ve struggled with the privacy curtains over my sliding doors for almost 4 years now. When I saw her curtains that simply blended in with her walls…It hit me, That’s what I’ve been wanting. My home is very eclectic as well and always a work in progress. I decided to paint my ceilings with the same dark color of my walls. It’s amazing! Makes it feel bigger instead on a stark contrast of white.
She did this in her master bedroom, it's black too! She couldn't fit it into this video, but maybe I will share it sometime. She loves it!

I just love how she placed 3 different styles of brass lamps and incorporated them as a group in the living room, also the green color is amazing and gave the house and awesome look altogether. That color green was extremely popular in the 90's. This house is very much like the homes I remember growing up.

I love that green. I had the same green in the 90's in my 90's home! It gives a nice restful feel. Pops well with the backsplash and the wood countercops.
Yes! Funny her shutters and front door haven't been painted since the house was built and are that classic hunter green! It's so pretty and definitely calming!

My sister's have no interest in home decor and I always felt like the odd ball because I love it and when you talked about your sister's, I thought mine and myself have nothing in common!
My sister and I are total opposites as well. That's shocking to me that so many are!

I am planning to move to a new apartment in a year and have planned to paint some of the walls some darker green like Hunter or Shamrock Green. I planned to do accent walls in that color, but now I have seen what your sister did, I am rethinking to at least the living room fully painted. I have a Dark Academia decor and that shade of green would fit perfectly.

I really like the green walls and her rug in the living room. Thanks for sharing. My sisters and I have different styles, too. My oldest sister calls me a minimalist, which I am not, because I have just gotten rid of a lot of "clutter type" collections and furniture that just didn't fit. I always know when it is time to go thru things and declutter is when my kitchen table or my office start getting full of thrifted items that haven't found their place yet, lol!
That's a good gift to have! I have been learning to let go, but it's a slow process sometimes haha
How fun and I think unique that you all enjoy design and have very different styles. Her style is very bold makes a style statement that is true to her taste. I see so many homes that are a copy of studio McGee or some other designer. I love her style as well but I love to see people get creative and make their own style. It takes more work and skill to do something that is not copied. Now we all want to see your sister Catherine’s home. She is the only one we haven’t seen! 😊

Isn't it? She spent so much time finding the perfect green - but it's such a bold and beautiful statement. I love it!
I liked that the main entry was the laundry room. It is the same at our house, as only strangers, people who have not visited us before or sales people use the front door! We are also on a very limited budget as we are a single lower income family... I eventually want to transform our laundry/mud room to an attractive entry space, It is fairly long and fairly narrow. house 2 standing double door pantry cabinets, a small storage cabinet, washer and dryer and a laundry sink that we plan to eventually remove,,,,

Thats a bold color for sure. Its not my style but i can appreciate it. The paint job looks so smooth and professional. It all tirs in so nicely. I love the butcher block counters. They did a great job of updating the house.

I painted the ceiling of my dining room a dark blue, and I keep considering whether or not I should do the "color drenching" in that room. I'm definitely heavily leaning toward it after watching this video!

Very nice. Both husband and wife need to be on the same page for the dark paint. We had gree stain on cupboards that went to the ceiling in our first California home. I loved it. It was a stain I should say and not a paint.. .it made me feel as if I was outdoors and my kitchen was at front of the house and the foothills of SLO, CA. We're our sunset extravaganza every evening❤
