Hans, fetch me the towed Schwerefeld Projektor.........
I already play Space Soviets (Valhallans, not Tau)
I’ve thought about buying the IS-2 kit and trying to kitbash it with a Rogal Dorn for my Imperial Guard…
But I know as soon as I buy my first bolt action kit, I’m gonna get completely sucked into the better game.
Come to the dark side!
Do it, a full army for standard size games is only 150 bucks, and is often cheaper.
Search up Grim IS 2 on cults 3d, its perfect
Join us. We have starter boxes that are full armies.
I play Soviets myself. While I own a IS-2, My Tourney Army fields the T-34/W haul mounted Flamethrower. Mount a Squad of Tank Riders of your choice on that iconic tank and you have an assault pairing that will make someone not to get in its way.
The IS-2 is my favourite WW2 tank, considering it seems decent enough, I think I'll start a soviet army in Bolt Action.
Thank you very much Mr. Mordian
Crazy how the IS-2 with a 122mm used to destroy bunkers has the same HE shell as the firefly with a 17pdr, a notoriously bad HE shell.
*cue the choir* Greetings, comrade! The Day of Victory is nigh!
Started watching these recently, Wednesdays are better now
I dont really get how the is2 gets only a heavy at gun with a penetration value of 200mm?
heck is more than the tiger 160mm of penetration
the authors of bolt action clearly don’t like the Soviet army…
I think it’s maybe to reflect the fact that as IS2’s were mostly used as spearhead/breakthrough units, their main opponents would be infantry strongpoints and dug in AT guns rather than Panzers. Therefore the 122mm D25 would be mainly firing HE rounds. As it was adapted from a naval gun it fired 2 piece ammunition which wasn’t ideal for rapid firing so it made sense for IS2’s to go into action with a HE round in the chamber as even if a tank was encountered the 122’s huge blast effect was more than capable of battering most German tanks to bits.
I could be totally wrong but that’s my guess…
@@BrbWifeYelling despite games and movies all tanks main target was infantry
Of course there are exceptions to this but mostly in specific battles like kursk
Also the two piece ammunition is alrredy represented in the slow load and that doesnt change that its pen value would more than justify it as being a superheavy at gun
@@blecao yeah fair point 👍

Nice I’ve been waiting on this as I wanted to know about this tank. Oh and Simon doesn’t seem that salty to me , maybe I’ve just not seen him at his saltiest .
