South Africa clinched a landmark victory in India, thrashing them by an innings in the second Test in Bangalore, thus becoming the first visiting side to win a Test series in India for 13 years. It was an outstanding achievement and at the time the stock of their captain, Hansie Cronje, could not have been higher. Little did anyone know that Cronje had played his last Test for South Africa and within a month would be exposed as a charlatan and a cheat. - Sport
Anil Kumble played excellently in the first innings scoring 36 runs, stood there in the middle and tackled the powerful South African bowling attack... A true fighter.
He was the Top scorer for India in the first innings.
After that, Anil Kumble took 5 wickets & none of the other bowlers supported him.

Tendulkar captain days are dark chapters in indian Cricket..you may argue fixers reason...but even Tendulkar played worst than fixers in this time.. still clearly remeber this matchs in DD ,and reading in score line in old sports line magazine ...single win is a wild celebration for 6 months

What about 1999 2-1 loss against Pakistan. I find it strange that Indians after losing 2 out of three tests somehow show that as drawn series. It does not matter third test was part of Asian test championship or world test championship. Three tests were played in a row and Pakistan won 2 out of three. So Pakistan is clear winner.

That's not how "series" work. I clearly mentioned 'series'. There's a reason words have definitions. Weird how Pakistanis always mess up basics despite clear nomenclature.
@@AxeDharme, india is a delusional quom who after losing 2 out of three tests label themselves as winner. Also after Pakistan defeated india in 1987 series onus was on india to beat Pakistan otherwise even a drawn series would put Pakistan as unbeaten not india. Even the next series in 2005 Pakistan drew 1-1 and remained unbeaten. So from 1987 till 2006 Pakistan was unbeaten on Indian soil so that makes it 19 years. I don’t understand how Indians do victory lap for outstanding home record is beyond me 😂😂😂😂😂.
