- I want to give a huge thanks to David at Figboot on Pens: / figboot11
It was very kind and generous of him to take the time and energy to come and show me these pens, and to let me hold them and try them out, some of which are not only very expensive, but also valuable to him for personal reasons. I was glad to partake in some of his fountain pen experience and expertise here today, and I hope you all find it interesting as well.

Thanks for having me, Peter. It was fun to hang out and share some cool toys. If anyone has questions about the fountain pens covered in this video, or about fountain pens in general, feel free to leave a comment. I'd like to hear what everyone's favorite was...
They were all awesome! :)
What an awesome surprise ! Two of my favourite channels all in one!
I loved them all. I don’t own a fountain pen. I went over to wanchers website and picked one up. Great video. Thanks
I thought I would prefer the urushi lacquer pens over anything else, but that second Jonathan Brooks pen you showed off with the matte finish was mesmerizing. I can see why you wrote in to get your hands on one! Thank you for taking the time to show off so many beautiful pens and thank you for teaching your audience about them :)
Are you the public persona of just some Bigfoot with internet access?
It's like peter's trying his best to act normal.
I held it together for over an hour! Are you proud of me
@@peter_draws :^)
Peter Draws We're all proud of you, Peter. :)
@@peter_draws I'm pretty disappointed.... I was hoping you would freak him out to the point where he broke down and renounced his faith in pens.
What is considered normal?
This is the most normal ive ever seen peter act
Lol yeah
I don't think he once licked or tasted any of the pens or inks!!! LOL!!
hella npc
Yeah it looks like it was hard for him
My first reaction was "is Peter a morning talk show host now?"
"they only made 15 of this pen" "do you & the other 14 ever get together"
me: i guess the pen15 club is REAL !!!
😎
Greatest comment of 2020
Underrated comment
Alternative title: Peter tries to act normal for 1 hour and ten minutes straight
Love you Peter!!
6:02 he was losing it here :D
@@10418 YES!! :D
Two gentlemen discussing Pens like they’re cars is my favorite thing ever
Over an hour and ten minutes of Peter? Yes, please.
That's an hour and ten minutes more of content to force family and friends to uncomfortably watch in my living room!
Big mood
What is a minute
Edit: nvmd i guess youre a metric system user
@@donosvan3623 Uh...what? I only deal in units of freedom.
Donovan The Go what else is used other than minutes ? I feel I am ignorant and that it needs to be rectified
@@et6521 They could take the quote by Jawaharlal Nehru quite literally?
"Time is not measured by the passing of years but by what one does, what one feels, and what one achieves." 🤣🤣
I watched a Japanese video about how to select a pen. The salesman recommended writing something you write often to get the feel of the pen, your signature, the name of a friend, your city. I found this to be good advice as well as comforting.
Could you demonstrate? I also recommend writing down your social as that is something you might need to write on official documents.
the rare sighting of peter with another human!
Right he actually talks to other people besides his guitar teacher
There's a chic that body paints herself to look like marvel characters. Now if he had her on, his channel would level up so hard. ( . )( . ) 👀
how brazen of you to assume that the great peter is a mere human
Yes, he exibits more shyness yet seems to maintain his curious nature.
'Is it wrong to use the word... Juicy when it comes to a pen?' *smile intensifies*
The word I usually hear associated with a "juicy" pen is actually "wet". And honestly, I'm not sure if that's better or worse. It's referring to a pen whose nib and feed produce a.... "heavy flow" of ink.... oh, my...
@@Dosbomber Nice, I pref 'overly moist'... 😫
This guy makes me realize that I'm a fountain pen casual
That's no problem...you can enjoy fountain pens at any level! :-)
@@FigbootonPens aw thanks! Whatever the case, I learned a lot about pens I'll never be able to afford 😅
"Is that a pen word?!" I'm crying rn
Nobody gonna talk about how Peter is a very talented interviewer? Really makes me wonder what he did in the past for a living... but not enough to find out! Like Peter always says “I’d rather wonder” 😆
Domo Yes he managed to make an interview about pens for and hour and ten minutes interesting. He is amazing.
Was looking for this comment. Pure pleasure to see an interview like that! Unfortunately a rarity in the media as well.
Peter: *playing with the pen*
David: "this pen is probably around $1.200."
Peter: *immediately lets go of the pen*
sarah 😂😂
I had an unfortunate Pretty Woman flashback there. If only it had been boxed.
There was some definite Mr Bean mannerisms when that happened.
Every time Peter randomly looks up you take a shot
This could be a viral drinking game!
I would pass out before the end of the video LOL!!
17:10 - 17:32 man, I always feel a bit nerdy talking about my interest in fountain pens. But keeping a spreadsheet of all the pens you own and tracking when and how long you've used them for is taking the hobby to a whole other level of nerdiness. This man has ascended to the 5th dimension of collecting fountain pens.
This is one of the best and most natural collabs I've ever seen. Didn't know I needed it, but now I want more..
I love how genuinely excited Peter is. I have no interest in pens but I watched this whole video because I enjoy their enjoyment
3:47 Casual pen sniff.
Minnesota Acoustic just watched that part hahahahah
I was also hoping for a casual ink taste as well... but the sniff will suffice.
Lol the person above you in the comments would like this
@@tbone2885 the ink sniff is a basic requirement, but I've gotta say... Ink taste tests might be a little too radical for most viewers.
Like a fine cigar
Peter gets ink on his hands from the first pen, directly before handling the $1200 pilot
Cabbage Man most pens are made from material that the ink will not stick to. Acrylic, ebonite, urushi. A pen made from wood or celluloid may be of more concern for absorbing ink. There are also pens made from lava.
“I’m a data analyst in my “real” life” 17:10 So, still no proof that Peter exists in this dimension.
I just listened to over an hour of two guys talking about pens... and I find myself mad that there aren’t any more pens to be talked about.
You can hear it in Figboots voice whenever Peter pushes a nib just a tiny bit too far or too fast.
Peter goes like: Ceiling camera's working? Oh, David's talking! Smile and nod, act normal... uh... notebook a little to the left... Oh, here's a pen! That's cool... wait... is the ceiling camera getting this? Oh, Smile to David!
David had an interview with Neil deGrasse too, and he was something like that with the camera and setting. Love the parallelism here...
I noticed that Peter didn't draw with the pens like he does when he's home alone. He seemed a bit "shy" to really draw his usual masterpieces... 😳
Probably also a time thing
David seems like a really nice and passionate guy! I love all the details he gives and he seems to be a great reviewer!
yeah he's really good, he has an entire channel where he does reviews like this.
How do I find his channel, please
@@marymullins2634 It's called Figboot on Pens
Peter keeps looking at the tengu demons in the ceiling..
At 1:03:17, David said "S***s on a shelf." Great video from you both.
It’s weird seeing Peter interact with another human, but the video is still very enjoyable.
P.S. That was my comment. This is a part of my comment. And now this is the end of my comment.
This is a reply to your comment.

smells.... interesting
This is my comment to your comment. And this is where my unnecessary comment will end.
I’m glad you don’t have intro and extro music/graphics. I appreciate that. You go straight into the vid; this one being particularly delicious and interesting. Great job:) Cheers.
*This was a great video - seeing David in a different element and seeing Peter in a different element, seeing the two 'cultures', so to speak, of drawing and writing, shared between to experts- very nice!! I have been into fountain pens for many years, but am fairly new to seeing Peter's amazing artwork, so this was really special to me. THANKS to both of you gentlemen!!*
Holy mother of, woke up to this suprise. Peter with David! My favourite art youtuber and my favourite fountain pen reviewer. This is a cross over that only would happen in dreams.
"Sees David in Peter Draws thumbnail!" inner pen-enthusiast squeals in delight 😍 😍
Your chance to call yourself a penthusiast!
Yes!! I was also so excited to see a Figboot/Peter Draws collab!! I’ve followed Figboot for ages as his reviews are the best (as well as SBRE Brown!!) and Peter is addictive!
Peter- does it post?
Figboot- no I wouldn't post.
Peter- let me post!
Nooo way I can't believe this is happening 😍 this will be the best 70 minutes ever
I don't know exactly why, but this is just so wholesome to me :) I actually found David through your fountain pen reviews, so it's really cool to see you guys together!
9:33 after decades Peter found out how to pronounce kaweco
Hes mentioned in a previous video he pronounces it wrong he probably doesn't wanna sound like a pretentious nerd and say it in German English every time
Did I just watch an hour and ten minute video about pens out of my price range? Absolutely
And then there’s me where whenever I make art I go to the dollar store for the smelly markers
mmm... smelly markers
Is someone shining a light on the ceiling....you know Peter wants to chase it.
"And a notch in the middle, like a little hole, yeah" "Well that's the breather hole..." "Do all pens have that???" "Yes..." ---- Oh Peter....
People keep giving him these flex nibs with no breather hole
I can't believe that I just watch an hour and a half of pen footage love you Peter draws
Chatoyance is an optical phenomenon in which a band of reflected light, known as a "cat's-eye," moves just beneath the surface of a cabochon-cut gemstone.
I think when Peter is looking up he is actually looking at the footage from the camera.
Yağmur Alankuş i concur, the top-down camera
Genius
A common misconception. He is checking to see if the angels are behaving while he's on Earth for an hour.
Yağmur Alankuş Really? Would never have guessed!! :D
@@jessejamesaims8430 highly underrated reply
When he unscrewed the bottom of the pen at 58:55 I thought it was nothing more than pure magic. LITERALLY came out of nowhere 😂😂
i wanted to skip through this but it´s so intriguing. My last fountain pen was one of those wooden Lamys back in elementary school. This channel is just too good.
"Dear viewers,
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"
this is a highly underrated comment
+OOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL
Two of my favorite people! Peter, I've been digging your work.. and began ironing my pillows in the morning.. seriously, saving up to buy on r of your pieces.. David does some of the best reviews out there. This was fun! Thanks guys!
Frank from Boulder, Colorado
I loved this
This is one of my favourite fountain pen videos! I learned so much about your collection, David. I loved Peter's reactions. I felt like I was trying out the pens through Peter. Thanks to you both!
What a beautiful collab. I love David's reviews and it was super interesting to see two personalities so different share their passion for fountain pens. I'm so happy you two worked together, Peter you are amazing.
Thank you both, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And of course loved seeing stunning pens.
This is like when my dad showing off his fountain pen collection to me when I was 18. I am now having my own collection and some of them are at the $200~ range.
I’ve been subscribed to both of you for a while, love this! Thanks :)
I loved every minute! It's nice to see David out from behind the camera and 'ad libbing' his love of pens!
This was awesome Peter and David. What a wonderful and unexpected mashup of two of my favorite CZcams folks.
I can't believe what I'm seeing.... two of my favorite youtubers in a collaboration video! Great idea!
Totally!!! :D
As a subscriber and fan of both channels, this is like a dream come true and love it when this sort of collaboration happens!! Thank you both so much.
This is a most unexpected and wonderful crossover.
Wonderful video, thank you both for taking the time to share thoughts and pens.
What's up there Peter? Is it an inaudible cry to God for an an answer to the cruel joke called existence? What answer are you searching for in those rafters?
Hahaha I was noticing that too lol
He was probably making sure everything was in frame on the camera above them :)
Yeah it’s his camera lul
@@JugsKise Would have been more practical to draw the borders on the desk.
This was awesome! Fascinating to hear so much about pens, it's more than I ever knew. An irresistable urge to get myself at least one pen has awoken... Keep it up, was not expecting this kind of video but it turned out great :)
This was fascinating! I would love to see more videos where you collab or interview artists, pen collectors, etc.
I just finished this amazing video and loved every minute of it...Thanks for sharing this Peter...I learned so much!
I just discovered your channel and I was driven to do an epic amount of binge watching. I was helplessly but joyfully attached to my screen for several hours. You inspire me so much! In addition to that you are also a very nice man and a perfect specimen of genuine creativity and humanity. Again, thank you! I am subscribed ad infinitum. Fantastic!
So excited to see two of my favorite you tubers collaborating!
I enjoyed every second thanks to both of you
I love it when two separate individuals, both of whom I follow, come together and make something special.
I know it's an older video but I've recently stumbled upon you and I really like your interaction and commentary while producing some great pieces of work. Just wanted to say thanks.
I just stumbled across your channel, it has ignited my curiousity to draw!!
Thanks for having David on!
Thank you Peter we enjoyed this greatly. You Rock Sir !!!!!!!!
Collaborations are some of the best things about CZcams. Keep up the good work and thanks for doing this.
Superb... Mr David is very clear and informative...one of the best reviews I have seen
I watched the whole video. Really wonderful! I love seeing people talking about stuff their passionate about. :D
Such a great episode, I really enjoy it!
A wonderful piece of video. Thank you both.
wow! I love these two channels, I never thought they will collab!
and once again, SNIFFING THE PEN in first 5 minutes
That Montblanc pen. Amazing. The Sakura pens, and the turquoise pen. My favorites. Glad Peter mentioned matching the ink to the pen. Great video, amazing pen collection. Can you imagine what didn’t show us? Nice to hear about the inks also.
figboot was one of the first vids I saw before finding "Peter Draws"
this is great. and what a good idea!
Oh Peter, I was waiting for you to draw a Fig Boot (:
Kidding aside I love both of your channels, and was happy to see you together Awesome video guys 🏆
Not even two minutes in I love the video. I can feel your excitement Peter!
This is such an awesome video! Thank you both!
2 great people I watch on CZcams. So different yet alike. Awesome collaboration
Yay! 2 of my favorite channels!
A very pleasing video that I watched from start to finish. It is fantastic to see David's incredible pens. A video version of Comfort Food for a pen aficionado.
Two great guys. Thank you for taking the time.
Great video. When I saw the length I was immediately put off. But this was excellent and didn't feel long at all - so interesting. Such beautiful pens!
WoW! I enjoyed watching your video and appreciate all of the pens you were able to feature. I am still happy with my dip style pens and nibs. I am still primarily an Artist that creates line art for my paintings or drawings. I might buy a fountain pen in the future, it is nice to live vicariously through your experiences, thanks to you both for sharing this with us!
You guys are amazing; I enjoy your stuff regarding this fun hobby.
An hour long video of pens???
*THANK YOU!*
What an excellent video, I love pens, for writing drawing and just to look at thoroughly enjoyed this, love your art also .
Two of my favorite guys. Thanks.

I love this colab so much! The unexpected combination of two CZcamsrs I love 🖋🖊
OMG when I saw the Nakaya! It is so beautiful!
I recently became obsessed with fountain pens because of you Peter. David has a really awesome collection, I think my favorite is the blues pen with the harpoon nib.
Wonderful adventure watching both of you exploring the world of fountain pens. As Figboot described them, they are a form of functional art, and they each have a story. They are meant to be used!
I'm surprised how interested I was in this, I watched the whole thing
My favorite fountain pen video ever! Love you both! I have to collect that last one! Wow!
