  • If you’re in the embroidery biz you’ll agree that producing finished caps can be one of the most profitable items in your product arsenal. Embroidering on a finished product allows you to make a decent margin and because specific equipment is needed it gives you an edge within the decorative garment industry.
At the same time, getting past the learning curve can be costly as the only way to "proof" your design is to test it on finished caps. While in the “learning curve” this can quickly become a costly endeavor.
The keys to finished cap profits are twofold, speed and quality. Speed is more so relevant to the equipment you own, some machine simple embroider caps faster and with less limitation with regards to design size and design positioning. Quality is mainly reflective of the embroidery design itself, not only following the bottom-up, inside-out rule. Of equal importance is how the design is mapped in relation to the sequence of objects being embroidered.
If digitized properly, a design can consistently produce the same result on both a curved and flat surface. In this video, we'll learn how some logical resequencing, editing, and a quick digitizing fix can be the difference from cap mishaps to consistent output.
Be sure to follow along so you can learn some useful tips and tricks for digitizing caps on your embroidery machine.

Learned a lot from this video and also your digitizing course. Please do a video or a course on how to do running stitch outline around satin stitches or fill stitches. I’m Having a lot of trouble with that and it never aligns perfectly

Thank you, some really helpful tips. I am trying to digitise a logo for my partners polo shirt; I think that I am making it too complicated by following the rules and getting them confused. My first trial looked okay , but it was bullet proof!!! ugh. Too much knowledge is a dangerous thing, so back to the drawing board to have another go. This lesson was really helpful though and has given me 'some food for thought', thank you John.
