As long as you are enjoying your garden and your plants are happy - then design like art or opinion is in the eye of the beholder. Im an accomplished painter and designer and all these opinions about what works "visually" is just that. (Circles relating to each other indeed.) - and opinions are like As........oles. everyone has one. remember many of these people with opinions about design make money off of their "say so". I say if it looks good to you be available to learn and be wary of taking opinions too seriously. you may be more talented than you realize and its your garden. Posh opinions aren't needed.
Mondy, I am so envy (in a god way) of your lifestyle. I watched "Around the world in 80 gardens" over and over again for years. It was a feel good show.
