Udaaya Samaj Traditional Music Festival | Ngata Tuladhar Gunla Bajan 2080

Udaaya Samaj was formed in 1997 for the purpose of upliftment and preservation of Newar culture, tradition and heritage especially of Udaaya community.
Ten distinctive occupational group of Newars namely Ason Tuladhar, Nyeta Tuladhar, Kansakar, Sthapit, Tamrakar, Bania, Sindurakar, Sikhrakar, Selalik, and Silakar are members of this association.
Gunla Bajan is one the traditions, which has been preserved and carried on for hundreds of years by Udaaya Community.
Some instruments used un Gunla Bajan are
1. Double sided drum known as "DHAA"
2. Trumpet and clarinets are used to play tune. Originally, local wind "MWAHALI"
3. "TAA" and "BHUSYA"
4. "PAYENTAH" is a long trumpet
