I have the soft cover version on the book and it's very good quality with the same illustrations, also it like 22$ or something

Does the deluxe version have more pictures compared to the regular Jim Kay illustrated ones? Or is the format still the same? Thanks! (Sorry if you mentioned it and I missed)
I don’t own the standard illustrated versions yet, but I believe that the actual book illustrations are the same. The deluxe editions come with the fabric cover and slipcase, and also the extra prints that came inside of the books (like the Diagon alley prints in the first two). I hope that helps!

Maybe a stupid question, but: Do those Bloomsbury Slipcase editions contain the same text as "regular" editions? Or are they somehow shortened because of all the illustrations?

Hey Ali :) Can I ask what the dimensions are for the deluxe edition (some sites are quoting different dimensions which has me all confused!).
Hi there, and thank you so much for watching! I would go off of the dimensions listed on the Bloomsbury website. Those should be the correct dimensions since they are coming directly from the publisher. Hi Kevin! The story itself is the same as the standard editions, the only difference is the artwork and presentation of these. 🤩✨
I'm pretty sure that on prisoner of Azkaban its the gates to Hogwarts for the front cover.

Yes, the illustrations are the same so the standard editions are great options as well!
Is it my imagination or are the books outside of the main series (The Tales of Beedle and Bard and Fantastic Beasts) slightly smaller in height next to the main story books? Or do they all look uniform next to each other on the shelf inside of their slipcases? I'm a bit OCD!
Oh my goodness... I just looked at my bookshelf and now my OCD is kicking in too! They are just the tiniest bit shorter 😬😬😬

how did you order them? It currently says due to territorial restrictions, they do not sell to residents of the united states.
We were not able to get them directly from the website either, we had to order them on eBay. The seller grandeagleretail had all of them available to order, and all of ours came in perfect condition 🤩

tbh Goblet of Fire has way _less_ illustrations than I expected...
yea that one does have less. I would love to have seen more as its one of my top books of them all. Maybe it was because the book was so large. We also have the minalima one coming in the future as well though. I still cant wait to see where jim kay takes his art with the last 3 getting alot darker in the story. Very Excited for the next few years!
They're like $225 dollars each :(
They are definitely a little more pricey for these collectible editions. If you would like a more affordable option for these, the standard Illustrated editions have the same artwork, they just don’t come with the cloth cover and sleeve!

I do love the illustrations inside, but the art style is definitely up to personal preference! The covers are just beautiful though, definitely my favorite part of these books.

@@anant0089 Yes, well it's quite a paradox. Being an illustrated edition one would think that this is targeted toward the young potterheads when it actually is addressed to the older ones that grew up with the books. At least this is my take on why the illustrations are darker, even scarier sometimes, but truer to the books than the films. ☺️
