@Matrix RC Took it out on the first run, can't hang with the Rally in stock form. Going to need a little bit of tuning but my Rally is far from stock too😊

@@ReadySetRC Vas was being over dramatic lol..He was goosing the throttle on a loose surface covered in dirt and dust all the while saying how the ZD got so much better grip..But go back and watch the ZD video..It was all over the place also and he even says it has zero grip lol..Trust me it's not bad at all..A lil diff tuning and tires are needed if you want to race the thing but it's a drifting truck not a racing truck..Oh I put on a 20t pinion..It will fit a 21t with stock spur but that's max..Ill let you know what diif fluid I end up running this week..I'm headed out on stock diffs and slicks in the morning then diff tuning this week
@@philthyco1 not over dramatic at all. Both cars were driving on the same surface and the Quantum R just doesn't drive as well as the ZD Racing EX-07 or as well as I'd hoped.
I did test it again on the street at the front of my house and changed to GRP tyres which made it worse, even after 5min of trying to heat them up. Then used Louise tyres and the difference was night and day. I went from oversteer to understeer just from the tyres.
As soon as weather allows, I'll run it again and on 4S, because this car is a little rocketship on 4S. 🙂
@@AussieRCPlayground Yea GRP's are for straight line speed runs ..I watched the ZD video and it was all over the place also lol..Both were fun videos for sure..Louise huh? Those are sold as Duratrax in the states yea? I might need to buy some..Looking forward to your next video as always brother
@@ReadySetRC Jaytee put thick diff fluid in the rear and left the other diffs alone..It should be thicker in the front not the rear of course lol..He made it handle worse lol..*Edit* He put 50wt in the rear..I thought he said 500wt at first lol..50-60 should be good for the rear.. The front needs much more heavy fluid..Ima try heavy in the front,medium in the center and light in the rear..See how that goes

Nice overview and comparison to the Traxxas Rally 🤩 Will be watching your first run 👍 From all the videos I have seen this truck is a bit underwhelming. But, I'm sure you can tune it up!
@Great Lakes RC Thank you! Took it out for the first time today and had the same characteristics as the other videos but not as extreme. I turned up my D/R and it sort of compensated for it but the issue now the controller movements are so extreme. I'm going to swap out the controller and see what happens. Hopefully it's something as basic as that.
I've pre ordered the red one as the grey looks to bland and the blue looks to hectic,

@Lee G What?! I thought the Maverick brand was easier to get in the UK than here in the US. Some of theirs and the HPI kits very hard to find in the US.

@William Perri Took the Quantum out for the first time and yeah the Rally would drive better than it. At least mine would😊 I'm going to tune this up and see how it holds up to it.
