Fire Safety - Grease Fires

If you ever have an oil fire in your kitchen or in your home, do not throw water on it. Water causes the oil to splatter, spreading the fire.
Instead, lay a wet cloth over the fire to smother it. If the fire is in a pot or a pan, you can also use a pot lid to extinguish the fire.
