Olive Tomlinson | Green Book

In 1961 Olive Bowles Tomlinson and her two good friends, Morty Breier and Joe Tomlinson decided to drive from their homes in New York City to Mexico on an adventure and as a break from their working lives. In this excerpt from a 2019 interview Olive recounts, in her always engaging way, the adventure they had and what they learned of the state of race relations in much of the United States. Joe Tomlinson later became Olive’s husband.
