picked mine up a few weeks back, great machine, looks good in the twisted cherry, cant get out on this bike enough it really is awesome, if your not sure take the sport glide out for test ride you wont be dissapointed,
Was about to buy the new Fat Bob 114, but just one ride and look at the Sport Glide had me hooked. The dealer delivered it that night. My first Harley and I love it!
As a 2016 Switchback owner, I really like this bike's style. Not surprised they brought a Switchback iteration back. It makes sense, given what you get for the price.
took delivery of one 10 weeks ago with stage 1 a heavy breather and bassani pipes. 9000 kms almost 5600 miles in that time. It's my daily ride and handles nicely. I like the 2 bikes for the price of one concept. Works for me.
I actually went out and bought one I love mine, the lean angle is super impressive I personally like it over my old Dyna and she has great get up. Side note the bike feels super light, weighs 690 wet but feels like it is way lighter!
I got one in November of 2017 I have loved the bike and I am still waiting for harley to come out with some good accessories to actually make it feel like mine. Oh and another thing this bike is impossible to scrap a peg I've tried my best in many curves. Rides wonderful
Bought one, Mines "Wicked Red". Love the looks and it is very nimble. You can strip it down and ride commando if you wish. I like it the way it comes. Did purchase a 10'' smoked windscreen. I love this Bike.
@@amacro11 Got mine at "Dennis Kirk" for about 80 bucks delivered.A few other places on-line had them. I've always had a good buying experience with DK.
Rode one a few weeks back and my Sportster felt like a toy bike afterwards. I was impressed with how light it felt however and comfortable. A bigger detachable wind screen and I'm sold, later. When they're cheaper.
Love the looks with or without fairing and saddlebags. After throwing a leg over one at a local dealer, i can say they are super comfortable for taller riders. Im interested to learn more about the new softail suspension and how it differs from the old softail suspension i am currently riding.
I think i found my new favorite Harley. I think it looks sharp. Being able to drop the bags and fairing make's it great for all kinds of riding. It's out of my price range but i would own one if i could.
I like to think of myself as a DYNAHOLIC, and I hated the new SOFTAIL line up until someone talked me into a demo ride. They ride amazing, and the power is awesome!! 500 miles a day is like going to the paint store and sitting on the paint shaker for 8 hours. New softails are a totally different experience, embrace change people it will be ok!!! I now own a Milwaukee 8 and don't miss burning up my legs straddling a 96, or 103... RIP DYNA!!!
Bought my 2018 used in 11-2022. I think HD hit this bike out of the park. No idea why USA market discontinued it in 2022. 1 test ride on this bike sold me.
I have owned a 91 FXR and a 05 Road King Classic (both bought new) and I must say my new Sport Glide is my favorite. I just came back from a trip to the Dragon and all the various rides in that neck of the woods Moonshiner etc. The ability to load up the bike for a 2wk trip (note I did add removable sissy bar to secure luggage) then easily strip to bike down to go play in the twisties was super. I was easily able to leave my big touring bike companions in my wake. It really fits that niche (2 in 1 bike) perfectly. All was not perfect though as my voltage regulator crapped out on the way home to Canada. Apparently this is an issue with some early build regulators. Had a new one installed under warranty but will be searching for higher quality aftermarket part in the future. All in all, after a 4000km trip was quite happy with way bike performed.
just brought one here in new zealand....not that the demos have arrived yet. but your video and few others was enough to know its my next bike. we believe im the first in new zealand to buy one, although i cant fact check that. cheers mate
we have 5 now as of last month. 4 prior to that....im lucky as i have Road and Sport Harley just up the road (25 minute drive/15minute ride) and the brand new Dealer in Tauranga an hour away. Havent been there yet, but im sure my sport glide will love the ride there through the kaimai ranges... if you ever feel like a riding holiday, make sure u check us out, hit me up and me and the boys will give you a guided tour
And expect my sport glide early to mid january :) 3 weeks without a bikes going to be torture....for my wife especially, shes the one that has to put up with me and my boredom/bikeless insanity. lol
Haha, I poor wife! With only 5 dealers, I’m sure you’ll be he first to have one, and it will be relatively easy to confirm! Once all of these rugrats are grown I might can travel! Until then I’m just glad I enjoy my job, since that’s all I do! I bet you get some awesome backdrops for pics over there, feel free to post up some sport glide pics on my fb page! I’d love to get to see it and where you get to ride!
have they arrived in aussie yet? i just brought one today here in new zealand. the demo arrives next week but i couldnt wait that long. we are pretty sure im the first in new zealand to own one
Hey John, you got my big Ol' Dirty thumbs up man that looks like fun , I did like on the other hand the SSG.Thought it looked pretty nice, but unbuttoning a New bike every couple of weeks. You got a cool gig my friend.
This bike is pretty much the only one I like from the new lineup. With aftermarket pipes and a blacked out primary cover it would look pretty dope. Too bad one thing didn't change - Softails are super expensive bikes.
This bike with laced wheels would be the perfect mix of new and old styling... the inverted forks surely perform better but they will have to grow on me aesthetically. All around, great looking rig.
I know this vid is a bit older but yes I do like the Sport glide a lot. And it comes with everything I'd want right away. Now if it came in the 114...it would be a no brainer.
Yeah, I think this is Harleys most interesting soft tail right now. Maybe a slightly taller wind screen would be nice. But it had my attention because it can quickly be stripped down. I don’t want permanent bags and fairing.
Every complained that it is over priced.. I did as well. Then i started comparing it to the other softails. And this is easily a fair price. If comparing to say, Triumph or Indian... then I ask. What bike from them are you comparing it to...
This is more than likely my next Harley. Great video! Keep up the good work. Was thinkin of getting a slim. But this video has definitely made the choice more complicated. 😆
For the longest time, I have written off this bike but now I'm kind of digging it in that Orange and the Red isn't bad, The only thing i kind of this is jinky is the none color matched bags
That is my only real complaint as well. I truly love mine. Have put 2k in the two months I have owned it. And by years end I suspect I'll have... LOL ALOT!
I loved and always wanted a convertible in the 90's but had a sporty like you was on low money back in the day. However now owning 14 bikes an loving my old softail more than anything I keep looking at HD to give me a new choice and I think I could live with this one looks nice sleek with bags very useful going for an older Bagger but may just look into one of these 🇦🇺✌️
Best Harley they've ever produced. No stupid handlebars, seats, tire sizes, or peg placement. Needs the longer Fat Bob shock for that plush ride. LED front turn signals would have been nice. Obviously, if anything, the "Sport" should have a 114 and dual discs. I can't wait for this drab color trend to end. Enough with the blacks and greys already. Guess there's always next year... One thing they all seem to need is a front fender extender. Around here, the gravel they throw on the roads would pound that low mounted oil cooler to a pulp in no time. The fender on this one is better than most, but could still use at least a couple inch extension. I kinda like the two tone exhaust. Wish the valve covers had been chrome too though. I think if this keeps up, they make take a few of us "never Harley" folks over to the dark side. Well done HD!
Having had Fat boy Lo, Softail Slim, Street Glide Special and now a Roadglide Special over the course of several years I can say this is definitely an in between type bike. If you are tired of cruisers (literally because they are tiring for long distance) but don't want a full size bagger like a Roadglide this will be perfect. But this is not meant to cut into HD's bagger market. Those Who love baggers will not own this night and day comparison
I bought one this summer and love it! Well, except for the windshield. I bought the 5 1/2" optional windshield and it's still too short. I don't like having to keep cleaning bugs off of my helmet face shield.
Not exactly new, but better looking than the earlier FXRT Sport Glide. Looks like the softail chassis is going to be it, next to touring and sportster families. Times are changing, and it looks like for the better.
I love my 2020 SG, it's the bike I have been looking for. Tahitian Teal (fancy work for blue..) is the must have color. It's also a popular color on the trikes. First thing was a taller shield, but HD doesn't make one tall enough, so aftermarket is the only way. The mini fairing is not that practical to begin with, but I like it being there. The next upgrade is the handlebars.. Tough to find replacements for this bike since the clamping area is 1 1/4". I found and ordered a set from Revzilla, LA Choppers LA-7362-10. All in all, wonderful machine. And, it FITS ME! Seat height is perfect. As usual, thanks for the video John. keep them coming.
I bought my Street Bob like 4 days before this bike was announced... such a bummer. I dig my bike, but this hits a few more of my check boxes, like a bigger tank at a price in my budget. That exhaust has got to go though. Cool vid!
Really like it, maybe my fave of 18 models, as said by other comments here, two bikes in one , I would really like the red color version, but yea it's sweet azz ride
Hi John I first saw it on CZcams yesterday, very reminiscent of the Switchback, especially the horrible pipes, I would have it minus the bags & mini (useless ) fairing, & a single seat like my Fatboy lo Special, . Price wise it's god, all these people are moaning about the new range, but for a small increase you're getting a lot of stuff, bigger engine, led lighting, better suspension etc.. I waited till I was 60 (last Feb ) to own one, & it sure puts a smile on the dial. Keep up the vlogs, you're doing a great job, enjoying them, all the best 👍 😎
Awesome!! Fist seen in your channel! Man i recently found out about your videos and still going through them... cheers from Australia. Keep up the awesome content!
got a 19 love it ,,, been doing the mods SE2 cam plus fuel and bassani pipes also got a 31 tooth pulley ,,,,, this thing pulls hard plus brakes are so much better than 2004 dxdl its just a good machine
I just bought the new sport glide. Reminded me of my dyna glide convertible. The new motor has plenty of power. The trouble is it's so new there are no after market accessories. Once I fix the wind noise issue, even with the new 5" windscreen, I'll be one happy camper. Would love to see a video with air cleaner, exhaust, and tune to see what it does. Keep the videos coming, great job!
I just picked mine up today. Vivid black. Very (currently) rare in Australia, but have already got a Heap of questions about it by old school H-D types. All positive comments about the bike in person currently. Had a short ride, pulled reflectors off (as I always do!) Then it started raining.. :-(
People recommend using fishing line. But I couldn't find mine at the time. I used a plastic "razor" blade, and worked it down and around all the reflectors then twisted them off. They had a little adhesive left in the middle, but it put up minimal resistance. The bag reflectors I just pulled off, but you could do them the same way. I just used a bit of wax and grease remover afterwards to remove any remaining glue off all the parts. If you are on Instagram and curious how the bike looks minus reflectors and a few small mods, my name on there is Darren.a.smith.74
me too. and I wish it was just a bit bigger, had just some room to carry some things, was just a bit more useful for longer rides, but still small enough to rip around on.. and then HD dropped this lil puppy on us.. now im in a constant state of trying to figure out how to make the numbers work.. but i will have one soon
yeah, im a 2018 48 owner who is thinking about this bike. the only non sportster I like. hoping they can harley promise me into it for a good deal. love the sporty, but it sucks for long distance, and it looks like my wife wants to ride distance....
I want one for sure, but it'd be cool if there was more to the fairing. Not "more" as in "bigger", but just more to it...like some gauges/displays or a gps, or some sort of mount for a cell phone, or a little storage compartment, or SOMETHING.
Great vid thanks for sharing. I have a Fat Bob & really enjoy riding it. Was looking at a Heritage Classic but this looks clean & sharp, where the classic looks like its trying to have feet in old school and new school. This is definitely new school and I love it. Just one question for ya, if you've time to come back, my Fat Bob has twin from disks and this is a single, have they improved the braking to match the previous twin disks? If they have I'll buy one.
+sumners1 the softail brakes were revamped in 2015 with a better caliper (bigger pistons), and a bigger rotor, and a new master cylinder. Those changes increased the stopping power significantly over single disc. To say it’s as good or better than a dual disc, I️ don’t know. I️ suggest a test ride!
If you have any suggestions on what you would want to know in the comparison, let me know. Other than feel, I'm drawing a blank on what to mention. you can also post thoughts/comments here facebook.com/TheHarleyTech
i like it could you take a picture inside the fairing??? and could you find out if there is an option for a pocket/bag inside the fairing??? i do know there is a talle screen 5,5 regards Sören
First the positive, Beautiful bike! Now the negative, terrible looking bags!, and now just a little observation commenting. Nice tip-of-the -hat to the now defunct Victory Motorcycles with the Oil Coolers coming on the newer models. Harley should have done that years ago. Now, if only Harley can only do away with the Cam Chain Tensioner and go to Gear Drive as a standard feature they will have and even higher quality product. Kudos to you Mr. Maxwell for producing such great videos. Keep up the great work Sir.
The issue with gear drive is and always has been noise. The EPA monitors noise levels, with only one chain tensioner (hydraulic) it’s not much of an issue anymore. Hell, it hasn’t been much of an issue at all since 07 with the intro of hydraulic tensioners. Thanks for checking out the video!
The Sport Glide is the coolest, most practical and beautiful bike Harley-Davidson had ever made. I love it.
Faxxx!!!!! It reminds me of the yamaha road star warrior from back in the days but the harley is even better
picked mine up a few weeks back, great machine, looks good in the twisted cherry, cant get out on this bike enough
it really is awesome, if your not sure take the sport glide out for test ride you wont be dissapointed,
How does it do on the curves and turns and power
This bike is growing on me. You did a great job showing this bike John.
Was a diehard FXR/DYNA guy but I’ve gotta admit this bike is light years ahead in comfort/handling/overall performance. Never going back.😎
Was about to buy the new Fat Bob 114, but just one ride and look at the Sport Glide had me hooked. The dealer delivered it that night. My first Harley and I love it!
As a 2016 Switchback owner, I really like this bike's style. Not surprised they brought a Switchback iteration back. It makes sense, given what you get for the price.
Nice bike. I have not been too impressed with the looks of the 2018 Harleys, but I do like this one. Reminds me of my 2012 Super Glide Custom

Wasn’t feeling it before this review. Great shots of it in this video. Looks well crafted. Quality. Now, I DIG it!
Great vid man. Keep it up!

I just bought one (traded my FXDWG). Guess that means I like it ;-)
I like it. Taking off the bags and mini fairing makes it look much better in my opinion but throw them on for a weekend trip
For sure!

Traded my 18 Fat Bob on the 20 Sport Glide Performance Orange and absolutely love it😎
HD is King when it comes to cruisers/baggers!

Awesome!

I think this motorcycle will be my next one I think it’s very cool I have been riding Harley Davison’s for 46 years
This and the fat bob are both amazing and a step in the right direction
Like it. This model just edged out the Low Rider as my new favorite softail.
This bike with laced wheels would be the perfect mix of new and old styling... the inverted forks surely perform better but they will have to grow on me aesthetically. All around, great looking rig.
got test ride today, out for 1 hour great machine. just ordered one only problem having to wait till end of may before dekivery,
There are worse problems to have!

Bought one in March. Absolutely love it!
Hallelujah 5 gallons and inverted forks... knock me down with a feather.
"knock me down with a feather" haha. So you're a fan? It's getting a fair amount of hate, but I like it!
Only HD model that speaks to me, says the gray haired man. Wonder what the sag is two up..
Awesome ride !! now i want one!

Yes another Winner for HD !! 👍👍
it's just beautiful. Actually it is the first one I really like from 2018 lineup.

Very true. It should sit very well for someone that wants a bagger, but can’t handle the weight or seat height, too.
I'd love to see you talk about this bike again. Maybe a ride too with your thoughts.
I bought one this summer and love it! Well, except for the windshield. I bought the 5 1/2" optional windshield and it's still too short. I don't like having to keep cleaning bugs off of my helmet face shield.

I like it alot. I saw it on website just the other day. I'm anxious to see ride review!!
I'm anxious to get a GoPro so I can start doing ride reviews! There are a lot of motovloggers out there that will have their videos up soon!

Not gonna lie, I think it's the most "Softail" looking of the new Softails when it's naked. Looks mean as shit with the accessories off.
Wartooth 6 it does! I thought it was kinda lame till he stripped it down and I was like “that’s mean as hell!!”
This is the bike you should get! More modern style than the one you got.
I think it is the perfect bike. Love it
I like the sport glide good looking bike..
Nice, great looking bikes coming out..
i really like this model - - i also liked the Switchback a lot
I bought my Street Bob like 4 days before this bike was announced... such a bummer. I dig my bike, but this hits a few more of my check boxes, like a bigger tank at a price in my budget. That exhaust has got to go though.
Cool vid!
Just got mine! Love it!
My next bike in 2018. This is love.
John have you ridden the sport glide? im digging the look.
I like it!!! But I still will keep my Sportster low,t my next bike will either a Fatboy or sportglide..good job John
it´s a dream come true... my target. I'll be this bike!
Test rode the low rider, softail slim, fatbob, fatboy, and the sportglide was the best ride for me
I had to buy one....2019 orange and black...love it
Really like it, maybe my fave of 18 models, as said by other comments here, two bikes in one , I would really like the red color version, but yea it's sweet azz ride

I thinking bad ass. I like how you can go from a faring to none. I would use that for my commute then take it off when am around town really cool.
It's easily my favorite out of the 18 softails!
I really do like this bike, I hope it works out well for HD. I would definitely consider picking one up if it came in a 114ci.
+Derek Corporon I’m betting next years model will be offered in a 114.
@@TheHarleyTechToo bad they never did.
I've seen this hope this year will buy. I like it.

I just picked mine up today. Vivid black. Very (currently) rare in Australia, but have already got a Heap of questions about it by old school H-D types. All positive comments about the bike in person currently. Had a short ride, pulled reflectors off (as I always do!) Then it started raining.. :-(
What is the best way to get those reflectors off?
People recommend using fishing line. But I couldn't find mine at the time. I used a plastic "razor" blade, and worked it down and around all the reflectors then twisted them off. They had a little adhesive left in the middle, but it put up minimal resistance. The bag reflectors I just pulled off, but you could do them the same way. I just used a bit of wax and grease remover afterwards to remove any remaining glue off all the parts. If you are on Instagram and curious how the bike looks minus reflectors and a few small mods, my name on there is Darren.a.smith.74
Thanks
tried to talk myself into a softail standard. Couldn't do it. off to check one of these out this Friday.
front wheel is sick!!!!!
The Sport Glide will be my next motorcycle!👍🏻👍🏻
Nice! I just got myself a Forty Eight
me too. and I wish it was just a bit bigger, had just some room to carry some things, was just a bit more useful for longer rides, but still small enough to rip around on.. and then HD dropped this lil puppy on us.. now im in a constant state of trying to figure out how to make the numbers work.. but i will have one soon
yeah, im a 2018 48 owner who is thinking about this bike. the only non sportster I like. hoping they can harley promise me into it for a good deal. love the sporty, but it sucks for long distance, and it looks like my wife wants to ride distance....
I want one for sure, but it'd be cool if there was more to the fairing. Not "more" as in "bigger", but just more to it...like some gauges/displays or a gps, or some sort of mount for a cell phone, or a little storage compartment, or SOMETHING.
I like it I bought one. Super fun bike.
Hell yea!
Love my sport glide
Pretty Sweet !!!! Great video of the bike !!
+Chris Fernandez thanks man!
Thanks for your reply. Would be interesting to do a real world test of both you get a chance.
If you have any suggestions on what you would want to know in the comparison, let me know. Other than feel, I'm drawing a blank on what to mention. you can also post thoughts/comments here facebook.com/TheHarleyTech
Very cool, I like it.....
Great vid! you guys have fun and provide all the right info. Its the touring bike for the rest of us.
I'm interested to see how it sells. Thanks for watching!
That's one sick bike..soo want one! :0)
i like it could you take a picture inside the fairing??? and could you find out if there is an option for a pocket/bag inside the fairing??? i do know there is a talle screen 5,5
regards
Sören
I love it! Think I'll be trading in my old bike... ;-)
nice bike wish i could afford one dude
Beautiful bike, I love the weight too.
This is my next bike
Given a little time for it to slnk in, I have decided I like it a lot. But not enough to swap it early for my FXLR until the planned change anyway.
