    • @leovolont
      @leovolont Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, it probably would be a great idea not to break out the pitch forks and the torches. You see, the Business World always pauses and reflects in times of recession. What is really obvious now and has been noticeable since 2008 is that advances with automated technologies has put supply side productivity on a rising exponential curve, but that undercuts labor which collapses demand side consumerism. Prices fall, but Demand drops in front of the fall prices. smart phone might cost two cents, but consumers only have a penny. that is what Marx would call a 'contradiction'. The Capitalists will see it too, that in order to compete businesses must maximize efficiency but consumerism only flourishes in inefficient economies. SO, changes must be made. The Rich could go with the Japanese No Growth Model of 'flying high but straight and level'. And they are transitioning off labor while they are retiring an aging population into their pensions. In the West, where the starving Consumer Class is harboring thoughts of violent revoltution, the Rich could do a production run of Killer Robots to kill us all before we can kll them. Or, if everybody is smiling and we all stay cool, we can also go to a Reduced Hours Early Retirement Pension System like the Japanese. Nobody needs to get hurt.

      Roberto Acuna Exactly. Our leaders decided that pandemic preparedness and CDC research programs weren't as important as a wall or some new planes or hunting even legal immigrants because they got busted for a nickel bag when they were 18. The CDC budget is continually cut and public education is also cut repeatedly. For almost 50 years, the social side of our democracy has been under attack, and now we pay the price for these attitudes. Perhaps, now people will care more about voting for responsible leadership.
