Giliw - term of endearment for a lover. It's poetic, and used mainly in poems or lyrics. Nobody really uses it in normal everyday speech, except deliberately as to sound cute, or for some effect. You'd rather hear romantic couples address each other as Love, Mahal, Hon, Babe, Bae, etc. But never Giliw, except for some desired effect.

For me, the song accurately captures that feeling you have when you begin to fall in love with someone and also find out they feel the same way. The lyrics itself tells the story of 2 people realizing they like each other like, a lot, and not really knowing where it came from. I was trying to find a direct English translation in the context of it being used as an endearment but all I came up with is “my happiness” or “my joy”.. kinda corny though.
“Dear” and “My Love” is more like “Sinta” in Tagalog...
Magiliw is like “joyfyl” as an adjective and adverb, giliw is “happiness” “happy” or “joy”. Hmm.......

It's always good to know that you make someone happy, and that would probably inspire me to make him happy. Anyway, it's just semantics. TNT is the most difficult singing competition in the country, which is a segment in a daily noontime show of ABS-CBN, Showtime. Elaine Duran whom you made an rv previously was also a grand champion before Janine. The 2nd placer was John Mark Saga while third placer was John dela Cerna who are also good singers which you might find making song covers as their own. Gigi de Lana was a contestant in one of its seasons and look at where she is now. Most of our popular singers are products of singing competitions from ABS-CBN like Marcelito Pomoy, grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent season 1, KZ Tandingan grand winner of The Voice, Darren Espanto -2nd placer from The Voice Kids season 1, Khimo Gumatay from The Idol Philippines latest season, etc....Jason Dy and Darryl Ong are products also of a singing competition and there are more of them which you have yet to discover.
