    "Bestowal" was composed by bassist extraordinaire Damian Erskine (Peter Erskine New Trio, Gino Vannelli, Tony Furtado), performed here with Jazz/Funk master David Dyson (Pieces of a Dream, Lalah Hathaway, Jonathan Butler, New Kids On The Block, George Duke) and drumming legend Ricky Lawson (The Yellowjackets, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson).
    Credits and special thanks:
    Skjold Design Guitars -- Huge thanks to Pete Skjold for creating phenomenal basses used and endorsed by both Damian and David. Both artists have signature basses available on the Skjold website at www.skjolddesign.com

    Produced and edited by Gruv Gear and recorded in Anaheim, CA. Special thanks to Josh Pumphrey, our ninja sound and post-production engineer!

    Damien plays some of the sweetest melodic statements I've ever heard. Definitely one of my favorite bass players.

    odd how D.Dyson pins his thumbs under the strings (right hand) during the finger style part of his solo. His technique, of course everyone has their own style.

    • @LohandfunkTube
      @LohandfunkTube Před 3 lety

      Yep, Personal comfort. I use them as anchors and to deaden the strings not played.

  • @jaysauerbass
    @jaysauerbass Před 11 lety +1

    Ya 15/8. Ya Dyson's thumb thing is really weird. I've never seen a player do that. Must be for stabilization.
