I was in Barcelona again in October/November…had a whole morning that I was going to spend at La Boqueria…but it turned out to be All Saints Day so it was closed :( I still managed to eat my weight in jamón and other spectacular dishes during the couple of weeks I was in Catalunya. I noticed that in the Basque Country pintxos are often served on top of a small piece of bread. Oh, and welcome back…Spain is a great way to debut a new series…a spectacular country (one of my favorites).

Coming from the states, specifically Vegas, it will obviously be a long flight, including an almost as long layover before finally arriving at our hotel in the afternoon of the following day. So after settling in and resting up, we'll undoubtedly hit the streets that evening. But to begin our first full day, we're gonna head straight over to La Boqueria. Heck, we might head over there that initial afternoon for that matter!!!!

How do you go to Boqueria Market and choose what to eat? I want everything! So good. If I lived in Barcelona I would shop there everyday for all that delicious food.

Empanadas seems to be the universal term for anything encased in dough and baked/fried. Ibérico is pronounced with an “Ee” sound at the beginning, not the English “aye”
English has two sounds for vowels. Long and short. He's using the Long "eye' sound which in this case and this part of the country should be the short sound as you pointed out.
Estrella Damm is the local beer in Barcelona but it not that nice. There is another beer called Estrella Galicia which tastes better.
You can run your car on it it's so strong 😂
This used to be a real market for locals. Now it mostly caters to tourists. It's a real shame how it has changed in the past 10 years.
This exactly true and accurate. It is very crowded with foolish tourists. Pickpockets love working the crowds inside and out. Some vendors, mostly those selling items to tourists, like nuts, raisins, olives, fruits, etc, not only overcharge buyers per weight, but also put 2 or 3 times the amount you asked for, making the price ridiculous. The market is so crowded and noisy, that tourists don't realize it until much later.
This used to be a great one to visit, now its one of the worst places to go in Barcelona.
After all, it is on the La Rambla.
Can you pay with card there ?
The people at the first market told me i could carry the ham inside the plane 😂 i paid €20 for a tray of Jamon Ibérico and they threw it away at the airport 😢
I got a Tomato and Mozzarella roll, they forgot the cheese and simply smeared a tomato paste on the inside, just my experience ,

This video takes you to one of the most touristic ripp-off-places. It's not worth watching. This guy doesn't know what ham he is eating and he is pretending to have an empanada - he's having some kind of bread roll but no empanada. Empanadas are typical for South America, not for Spain, by the way.
Last but not least: This video was obviously filmed during the pandemic. All are wearing masks. One is not. Spot the mistake.

Boqueria market is overrated. The food are exposed to flies. I saw a couple of flies around the food stalls. We were about to eat the paella and the guy putting our food in the container was talking and food particles came flying out of his mouth. I wanted to vomit
