MEET Wally - the 5ft, 60lb, federally-licensed emotional support alligator. Owned by Joie Henney, from Pennsylvania, Joie's house boasts a variety of reptiles, ranging from bearded dragons to ball pythons. The reptile that steals the show, however, is the four-year-old Wally, who has a special place in Joie's heart. Joie told Truly: "He's far from a typical alligator, he loves cuddling and he loves giving kisses". As well as having full run of the house, Wally is regularly taken out for walks to parks, malls and even restaurants.

That's actually closer than you think. Reptiles physically do not have the part of the brain that feels love, but they ARE capable of things like familiarity and preference, which is basically their way of having love. That said keep it fed, because instinct is strong. Also expect nips and accidents, because INSTINCT IS STRONG.

Likewise, birds are considered reptiles in the modern cladistic sense of the term, and their closest living relatives are the crocodilians. Birds are descendants of the primitive avialans (whose members include Archaeopteryx) which first appeared about 160 million years ago (mya) in China.” From Wikipedia. They remember everything that's happened through their entire life and every person. They can't die unless they suffer trauma or disease. No such thing as old age in the land of crocodilians. Interesting facts. Their cells don't age. Oldest confirmed one's around 80 but technically there could be one thousands of years old. Would still remember ever moment of it's life. ;)

Joe Battiloro Me too. I love reptiles a lot, but I highly doubt you can form a bond with an alligator. It’s not a pet. It’s like keeping a great white shark In a fish tank and saying it loves you when it follows your finger through the glass. When it gets big I really hope they don’t keep it in the house or let children around it.

Hate to be a downer; but I'm not the only one clicking back into this video after hearing in the news that Wally got stolen from his owner right? Wish it were fake news but
'weep' I pretty much bawled hearing the audio from the owner off the radio today. Never even held a reptile like that, but I've got a neighborhood cat who's just as gentle as
Wally, so if somebody snatched him away I'd feel pretty much broken too. For a Reptile lover this is almost as brutal as losing Brian Barczyk. Someone Save this scaly puppy!

@@Steves_fish alligators and crocodiles actually have extremely high intelligence. They don’t have diaphragms though so can’t really produce noises like other animals. The intelligence of an alligator/crocodile surpasses your dog/cat and probably many animals you would ever own. Besides a Pig or raven since you could own those as pets. Otherwise only apes, dolphins, elephants and a couple other animals are more intelligent than a gator/croc. Including a couple bird species. So yeah they have very high intelligence!

MrJamberee due to the fact that it is an exotic animal, not to mention an alligator he needs to have an exotic pets license && for it to be federally registered as an emotional support animal not just registered because it’s considered to be extremely dangerous, since its an alligator they preformed very different tests to see how he would react compared to being regularly registered such as a dog
