“You don’t need every pedal John has.”
Lol. Spot on. There’s nothing at all wrong with building replica boards of course, and that’s a somewhat separate thing. If you’re trying to get the basic tone and nail the *vibe* you can do so with significantly different gear. Is there any doubt John would sound fantastic playing through the exact rig you just built?
Again, all respect to the replica guys. That is a connected but separate hobby and takes an additional level (or three) of dedication.
P.S. Your playing is always amazing Gabe!

thanks for doing this Gariel! This was awesome, not rushed, and so informative! Would love to see what your setting was in the Hot Rod Deluxe.
Would love to hear how different it would sound if you just miced it.

Really good tone that gets it basically identical with gear mere mortals can afford, haha. I think in the video it shows an older Soldano on stage behind him, I wonder if he really used that?

Great video, messing with your tone control is crucial, John talks in past interviews about how everything he does tone-wise is to "eliminate the ice-pick". The tone control is especially important when dealing with a brighter chorus like most are nowadays.
Do you have any thoughts on the current Waza CE-2 vs the MkIII Blue Hippo?
Thanks and keep up the great videos!

Thanks so much for watching Bryan! Tone controls and volume controls are crucial!
I havent played the waza craft ce-2. The main reason why i bought the blue hippo was because Landau and Bonamassa use it haha
