Just bought a Sportline 2wd to do something like this with it. I am not into asphalt too much as in road course. My heart is more into oval dirt track racing. Great job in building this dude.

I run stock carb settings, just let it cycle through a tank of gas without throttling it too much. After that, I start leaning it out with some low speed runs, just as long till I find the right tune. I hope this helps!

Don't let the " that's not how I would have built it" haters get to you, if they want to build it different I say challenge them! I bet they don't have the time, the patience, the skill, or the money! I have been in all aspects of RC for years and it is a pricey, pricey hobby!!
I use to have an RC car like this one. It had 2 white stripes, a blue body color, and the body was pretty much the same look as this one, only that it had huge wheels in the back, and a huge blower in the front.
First I must say I cant believe two persons really gave a thumbs down. With that said, this is ridiculously awesome, you have truly taken RCing to a lever not yet seen by most. The test run was great and the car looks spectacular. Another phenomenal job. 4 thumbs up.
Still trying to decide what to do next, got some new stuff on the way and some rides in desperate need of a little overhauling. Decisions, decisions! ;)
Well, Richard... It is not too bad I think. Although wifes and girlfriends not always agree on what we think is acceptable, haha. The FG costs a little under 1000 euros, add a different body and wheels for around 250 euro, some electronics, which were quite pricey but it needs to be reliable as well. So those ran me around 400 euros total. Now, the fun part: The fake engine in front was not even 30 euro, and the wheelie bar cost me around 15 euro to make. Add the BZM, and you have a total. :)
The grip is good enough for some serious turning action as well, and they are hard enough not to be too grippy off the line. The fronts need a bit of tweaking though, want a softer compound there, which will also help with the burnouts.

That is actually a good idea, I will maybe take the TF2 out there. it shows the whole town below, and the fjord in the distance. I will look into it and see if they point a cannon at me when I suggest it. ;)
