What an epic final, I'm so happy for Argentina and Messi. Di Maria did the performance of his life, what a player. Emiliano Martinez made the save of the tournament at the end in extra-time, what a goalie and a such a beast on penalties.
Messi and Mbappe are giants. One small point... Martinez made a save for Argentina in the dying seconds of overtime that kept the game level for Argentina to win on penalties.
Deschamps won't get nearly enough credit for having the bravery to make the substitutions that got them back in the game. Those two first half players changed everything.
Southgate should take note he never makes the right substitute decisions seeing as he's staying on as Manager
Deschamps has been the best coach of the tournament and read how the game could be changed by France. His moves and Mbappé's phenomenal performance almost made a miraculous comeback.

It was a hell of a game. Di Maria and the whole argentinian team were unbelievable for 70 minutes, and France in contrast were so horrific. Then this stupid mistake by Otamendi that brought France back and from there it was just complete chaos with both sides playing league 2 level at the back. Even though France lost I just want to shoutout how amazing Upamecano and Kolo Muani were. Mbappe's probably gonna get a lot of praise, but the assist for the 2-2 by Thuram was class as well. Also all of Deschamps' subs were perfect, so probs to him as well. All in all Argentina were the better side over 120 minutes + pens and Emi Martinez is just better than Lloris, so deserved win for Messi and the boys. Real happy for Aguero as well

its my 12th WC Final, and apart from the first 25 mins of the 2nd half, it was fabulous. It reminded me of WCs in the 80s when it was 4 v 4 every other minute, socks around the ankles, and game plans out the window.
