My guess on what happened after going down that one slide and falling over, I think you are seeing the game through a camera, would explain the sound when you zoom in, after going down that one slide your character drops the camera and it goes tumbling, then you hear your character walk up to the camera and pick it up. I could be wrong

Beaver! You should try Dreamcore. Similar to this game but I enjoyed the demo of Dreamcore somewhat more than Pools. You find a flashlight and you solve puzzles to escape. No entities or anything, just a friendly emoji. I've yet to get the full game and complete it, but I found myself sad that the demo wasn't longer. I spent hours just exploring the environment

Took me a while but I got to this video. I just had some side quests to complete first now onto the main objective
the time you feel down and thought someone else was there that was u and ur camera had fallen so the character went to pick it up
