I remember the original and how it was just a funny parody of game design, and then the remaster came out and it was an existential crisis reflecting on the original’s legacy disguised as an expansion, and no one talked about it nearly as much as the original.

I loved the critique on the gaming industry of them always just rereleasing the same thing with a tiny new gimmick and slapping on a number onto it or how companies instead of making it the second game just put “extra content” on as cheap and short dlc.
The fact that the script for the ramaster is double the length of the original is awesome and there’s so much love in the sequel as well. It fascinates me that they fit so much critique in and people brushed it over compared to the first which is a shame.
I read at the time it released, some people complaining about being dissatisfied because the endings were the sames but with a bucket lol.
The only exceptions were the actual endings of the expansion, but i haven't seen what people think of those.
As for me, i wish they've gone deeper and go into things like what makes games so special compared to other entertainment medium.
