Rei helps the woman she’s been in love with for years escape her abusive husband. While on the run, their feelings for each other catch fire. - Zábava

The manga was so dark and almost messed up. Not sure how loyal this is to the manga, but since it's not to be shown on Japanese TV this would probably be quite heavy. Looking forward to seeing it.
YES!! I remember reading this manga years ago, but couldn't remember the name (I know now that its called "Gunjou") when watching this trailer. From what I can tell from the trailer, This looks a lil too lighthearted, so I don't think it'll be that loyal, the tone is completely different. Nevertheless, I'm still gonna watch this.
@@Carlwat78 does the manga has a Happy End? Cause I don’t wanna watch another sapphic story where the main characters die or don’t end up together 😭
@@viktoria4827 Well, I'll just tell you that no one dies. It's the feeling that they're both drowning, but at least they're together, the feelings they have towards each other is way more complex than what portrayed in the trailer so The Manga IS worth a read. Especially since I don't think this adaptation will do it justice. But I'll still watch it.

They had a very toxic relationship, at least for me, during the first parts of the movie. However, the ending was definitely a good one and it changed my whole perspective of the movie. When you love someone, you often make sacrifices, but they took it on another level! I am not a lesbian, so this video was educational for me in some ways. Some people are really lucky to be able to love without receiving any prejudice or discrimination against society and their family, and I think that homosexuality is still something that we are not really open to talk about, atleast in my country, and is often frowned upon.
Yeah, it was obviously a toxic relationship. Still the whole movie mindfucked me hahah it's a good movie overall for me
this movie is really ugly and it has nothing to do with female homosexuality. Is quite homophobic actually
@MIL 030 Just watched the movie today. I enjoyed it a lot. Full disclosure, I am an adult closeted asian lesbian living in a homophobic asian country. Why do you say this is homophobic? I felt no such thing. In fact, I deeply empathized with all the women in the film. 🤔

Kudos to both actresses for doing a great job at portraying their role. I was actually shookt at their love scene cause it looks real 🤭 The movie also made me feel roller coaster of emotions tbh. I teared up a bit at some parts and I cursed at all the unnecessary hetero s*x. Especially the one with the taxi man! I'm still infuriated about it I swear!
That taxi man disgusts me. The scene was so unnecessary!!!

One of the most beautiful and impactful films I’ve seen! Regardless of your sexuality, this film will resonate with you! (I know a lot of people have said it’s a“bad/toxic representation of lesbian relationships” but it doesn’t pretend to be a healthy lesbian love story. There is no one single representation of lesbian love that we have to strive for, it’s a complex and diverse thing, as this film shows! I think those criticisms do more damage than anything else for representations of lgbt material.)
this movie is really ugly and also homophobic actually.
@@liv0003 why 🙁
Be prepared for a real emotional rollercoaster when you watch it
I have just finished the film and the ending makes me think a lots. Some pp said its a sad ending but for me, its the best fitted and happiest ending for this situation. At least the girls could make sure what their heart want. I'm still not comprehend all the meaning but highly recommend.
I agree. I really would love more but that's the best way on how to end the movie. It's the feeling of wanting more from them. This makes me go back to watching Japanese and Korean movies again.
It's the best ending given the circumstances that Rei put them in. Considering she's a surgeon, I would have thought she'd be much smarter or have more self control than to murder the husband.
I just finished watching the movie and I can really say that love is so powerful that no matter what you do, you will fight for it .. the story is beautiful, it's tearful and tense and the characters who performed are great .. holy mother-..that intro.. those exact same lines..Gunjo(manga its based on) by far has the heaviest, most depressing, unique and fascinating love/hate story out there which makes it one of my favourite yuri manga. Hello
I swear I felt like I've just rode a roller coaster of emotions watching this. But I like how even us, the audience, were confused of what they really feel towards each other and slowly made it clear towards the end that they definitely love each other just too much and willing to stay together no matter how bad the situation will be for them 😭😭 I just want a sequel tho, I'd love to see them happy together. Kiko supremacy! I'm gay as fk

I just finished watching this, and my tears won't stop flowing. The ending is kind of what I anticipated, but at the same time, unexpected. Loved how even though after that ten years, they continue to be comfortable and happy with each other. Gives me some December Rain vibes because of the eloping scenarios.

The director had oversexualized women. No element of love at all, not even obsession, just plain porn. This feels like a yuri manga being 'literally' put into film to fulfill men's sexual desire.
That would hardly be the problem with this movie. Pornography depicting consenting adults is not immoral in my opinion.
the issue is that the movie generally speaking sucks, the characters and how they behave suck, the dialogues suck, pretty much everything appears to make 0 sense. It's pretty normal when a live action is made out of a manga or anime, the original media is probably much better.

i adored this movie so much and i cried like 6 times while watching
This story got to the heart of so many wounded individuals and many relationships when it concerns loving and giving ourselves to someone else!. Such a wide range of emotions as well as a an example of what some of us are willing to do in the name of "love". I will not judge the story's toxicity as that would be too long and besides the point I'm sharing here. We cannot just look at one but everyone involved surrounding both women. Everyone in their lives contributed to their lives throughout - some good and some not. We act according to those emotions and we often suffer because of what we cannot see and observe which is crucial for our well being specially in the moment of some overwhelming and crushing feelings and so - we seem to concentrate on just those emotions. Of course, this put us in precarious and unhealthy relationships and even can keep us there. These two young ladies were delightful in their acting, the full on surrendering they gave to their roles. At times, I knew this was just a movie but other times I was so involved and let myself get carried away with their emotions. Very professionally produced, presented and the sincerity and the tender moments through the whole film was successful in order for us to actually see that there was hope for them after all and left me satisfied and pleased that I spent my quality time with them. Thanks.

Nope, the movie is impeccable, it represented Rei coming back to her head(cause her love was away, asleep), and a version of reality where she believes what the news said about her being a prostitute. it is a heart, soulbreaking scene, and it was self harm at its worst, as real as it gets. And after that, she just went on to face the tying of the loose end of her wife, finally facing the actual truth, after reminiscing on what she saw herself as: dirty and pointless.
Kiko mizuhara is just awesome ❤️❤️
Honami Sato is, I think, equally impressive. Very heart-felt, nuanced, sincere performances from both.

Their acting was so real! I got so much emotions watching this Movie❤️ I'm inlove with these two I can't wait for the Part 2. Please? My favourite scene when they took her brother's car and ran away together yet still Rei chose to do the right thing which is to surrender she didn't want to see her first love suffer from the husband. There's a lot of lessons we can get from this movie. This movie deserves Part 2! Please?
P.s the love making scene was so breath taking and thrilling I was thinking they really did it for real hehe rooting for part 2 please.
The movie is good but I hate the part with the Taxi driver. Its so unecessary.
I think it's basically blackmail. Rei is making yet another sacrifice to protect Nanae and herself, and to buy them more time, which they desperately need in order to come to terms with their relationship. I am puzzled at the "male gaze" comments that assert the scenes between Rei and Nanae's husband, and Rei and the taxi driver, are meant for the pleasure of male viewers. I am male, and straight, and found those scenes disturbing, almost to the point of tears. Rei is suffering for the sake of protecting Nanae, and there is nothing erotic about Rei being abused.😪
Amazing vibes, when there's pack of love & also when there's lack of love!!
I thought the lead actress looked SO familiar...then I remembered she looks so much like G Dragons ex! Then I googled the cast list, it is Kiko Mizuhara!!! Always knew she is a model but didn’t know she’s also an amazing actress...respect!
