Warhammer 40k is BACK on Zorpazorp!!! If you're geareing up for 40k 10thed go and check out our brand new project converting the Dawn of War video game to the tabletop: czcams.com/video/drQ-gMXnuTM/video.html My mighty necrons will be making a return in the second season of the Dawn of War Warhammer campaign, if you want to see the gameplay check out www.youtube.com/@ZorpHammer, otherwise the painting tutorials will be at the link above
It works really well in other colors too, Dark Purple to Bright Pink worked OK. Then used a warm version (Brown through to Bone) then glazed Blood for the Blood God over it...liked it better on the orbs, but after matt varnish, I liked it better on the weapons. Wouldn't even attempt it before this video....now experimenting. Shows how well it is explained and how approachable the technique is.
I was really unsatisfied with results based on GW's guide. The models were to bright, i missed the grimdark feeling. Then i saw your video: Thank you very much for this helpful guide. It's easy to copy and the models look great. Fantastic job!
New to painting miniatures, but I dry brushed my metallics over chaos black, purposely leaving splotchy areas of black left on, and then drenched the whole thing in nuln oil, it’s very dark, ancient, and grimey.
I was super intimidated going into a necron army to paint the glowing blades but I followed this guide and couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you!
I've just painted my first Necron minis with your help. To be honest, those were my minis nr 4,5 and 6. They look sharp and awesome. I've never thought, that I can do something this precise. Thank you for your tutorial and in-depth commentary. Cheers from Poland!
This was my introduction to painting after I bought my first ever minis in the Indomitus box. I legit get nostalgia coming back and watching this sometimes!
With the amount of money ive spent on these models, it was REALLY important that I had the colors and the exact blueprint that I wanted to follow! Ive seen a LOT of videos over the summer and into Winter now, before I eventually landed on this one, I've come back a few times, and I've done some test on a 3 warrior test box I bought for 35bucks they also gave me a couple of the paints I knew I would need like the Warp Glow and Rune lord brass. That said, this is the scheme I've landed on. It is detailed enough that even I can keep up, and it seems to me that it will get the best results with a skill set that is most realistic to what I think I can achieve as a budding hobbyist. So thank you for all the time you spent on these videos man! The impact you have had on my first army can not be understated!
If you're picking up any paints, Necron goodies or ANYTHING hobby related, use my affiliate links below. You get fantastic prices worldwide, and send some dollarydoos back to support the channel
I was thinking of doing something similar but with a purplish tone to the all the silver except the head and a bright pink for all the glowie bits. The techniques and lack of airbrushing in this video have just made my life so much easier, thank you.
No problem at all mate, that purple sounds amazing! Feel free to throw up some pics on our Facebook group when you get some done! Www.facebook.com/groups/zorpazorp
I reckon this is the best guide for batch painting Necrons, currently painting my indomitus Necrons and this scheme has been an absolute pleasure you paint.
Fantastic video. I've just hit middle age and true to form I've thought a lot about something I've always wanted to do since I was a kid and that's paint . I've been binge watching all the major channels here on You Tube and I have to admit they've felt a tad overwhelming. You though have kept it simple and us simple folk love that. Thanks.
That's lovely to hear man, I'm just a simple fella too Haha, I'm not winning any awards but hopefully I can help people get that grey plastic looking nice enough on the table :)
Thought they looked great.. such a sinister paint job.. will defo be applying some of this to my army... finally got it primed and ready to go today! Such epic models!
I've watched your content for ages it seems, i really love your LotR battreps and your tutorials for terrain which the latter brought me here. now that I'm considering adding a Necrontyr army to my seven AoS armies i see you're way ahead with another great tutorial! Thanks for all the great content and tips/tricks/skills you've given :D
100% more tutorials. Me and my mate finally bit the bullet and started collecting 40k, starting with this indomitus pack. And I really need advice on how to paint these! :)
Why is it only just recently I've discovered your channel, huge fan! You've inspired me to get back into Middle Earth SBG and to start collecting and gaming with Warhammer too :D
I just spent 6 months finishing the space marines from my indomitus box which was a real drag, just started doing necrons with your paint scheme - the result is amazing and painting necrons goes incredibly fast. THANK YOU ZORPAZORP!!!!!
FANTASTIC results!! Love it! I too have become so enamoured with these new Necrons!!! Will definitely be using some of your techniques here! Thank you, ,
Thank you so much Ninja!! Yeah this has to be the model I've not only been most happy with but ENJOYED so much! Brushing and washes are just so quick and rewarding Haha
Great video and I really liked your black and white profile for the Skorpekh Lord prior to using the technical paint. A nice approach and great to see alternatives to airbrushing from time to time :-)
I love the way your end result came out. These are similar techniques to how I plan to do mine. I loved that blade as it really stands out. Great work now. Subbed because of this vid.
I'm planning to paint up my pirate-themed Necrons in a variety of dynastic colours, so this video really helps! The only thing that I imagine will change is my method is painting the cloth of their bandanas and leather of their hats, lol. Great guide!
I like the dry brush a lot better than edge highlighting with a brush. Dry brushing makes it look a whoooole lot realistic in my opinion. You're mini's look amazing!!
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you for sharing this! I just bought the expensive Runelord Brass rattle can and realized I wasted my money. I wish I had watched this first. Dry brush over black looks amazing.
I'd never heard of your channel before until you popped up in my video feed. WOW. I'm super impressed, not just by the quality of the minis/tutorial itself, but your production values are superb! PS - yep, I'm a makeup brush convert, due to Uncle Atom, as well :)
Oh my goodness, i was looking for a way to paint my necrons from Indomitus, and your video is absolutely AWESOME!!! THANK YOU for sharing your painting style, i will definitely use this video to paint my Nekko's!, i just subscribed to your channel by watching this video alone. Your use of cheap make up brushes is inspiring, just bought a cheap set for this purpose myself. Thanks again and have a nice day!!! :)
Dude. That baseing material is epic! Gives the Necrons a real Terminator look. I also think it will work well when I get around to basing my Betrayal At Calth models. Give them a hole stuck underground in a mine feel.

After excitement quickly came feeling of unease and this grim question in my mind started to float - "How and where should I even start?". It became a struggle because I really wanted to paint and after watching multiple painting guides all i thought was "That cool and all but I don't have tools and skills to paint like that". Then I stumbled upon your channel and by the Emperor It was like a revelation. For the very first time after watching a guide I could say "Hey, they look awesome and I think I can do that" and that was all I needed to boost my confidence enough to start painting. For that, I am very thankful. I love your videos man, for me they are like a lighthouse and make me feel guided (no Heresy intended).

I'd love to buy some basing materials from your shop too, but the shipping costs to Canada are just prohibitive at the moment. Almost as much as the order itself. I'll gladly order a batch if it comes down a bit in the future. Cheers!
I just got into warhammer built my first models this week want to build a few more over the weekend and hoping to paint sometime next week. These look amazing I can only hope mine end up half as good
That make up brush allows you to do the base level dry brushing in a few minutes it looks like. And its broad shape would really help to get an even light stroke of paint to build up.
The circular drybrushing method on the blades will come in really usefull thank you very much. I might add some of the fleshtearers red and brass scorpion from your droideka video to the shoulder guards just to make it a bit different thank you very much!
