  • Our new bodies, when we go to be with the Lord, will still be us, but in a glorified state. Taken from the message, Big Life Issues by Pastor Greg Laurie.

A lot of people interpret the bible different. My belief is what I have read in the bible. It says that when we die its as if we are asleep. The dead know nothing. When Jesus comes back for the resurrection the dead in Christ (the ones that are christians when they died) will be the first to arise and will be united with the ones here on earth that are Christians. They will all be given new bodies made in the image of the Lord. Our new bodies will be perfect ,no more sickness, no more death.

I have a question. They are always saying that Jesus was the first to be resurrected from the dead. What about all the people Jesus raised from the dead before He was resurrected? Even the apostles raised people from the dead. All I can think is that Jesus was the first begotten son of God to be resurrected. Anyone? I am always trying to search for the right answers in the Scriptures and am often confused and need help.

The people who where raised from the dead prior to Christ's resurrection all died again. Jesus was the first to be resurrected (Firstfruit). Raised from the dead and ressurection not the same thing. Hope this helps.

@thomastessier4529 Our resurrection will not happen until rapture. Until then, those who died in Christ will spend time in paradise with Heavenly Father. But those in Hades (hell) will be tormented until after Jesus's millennial Kingdom and will be resurrected to face the Great White Throne Judgement where they will be found guilty of transgressions and get thrown into the Lake of Fire.

You know I don't really care...I know that when I die I am gonna go to heaven where it will be good not bad, where there is not corruption or disease or sadness. And after that, however God chooses to bring me back in a physical body or not....I am DEAD! I would not be able to do that myself or even care. It takes faith to even believe that there is life after death anyway. So, it beyond my control. I believe in Jesus because I know I am a sinner, I know the world is wicked, there is one God, and I cannot do anything or function without Him, and there is a right and wrong.

Incorrect. That is the resurrected body. The body that is going to ascend will not be the same body.

Paul tells us that he will transform our glorious body to be like his glorious body. and as jesus said: you do not know the scriptures or the power of god. the power of the god of angel armies. look in the first chapter of revelation, john talks with one like a son of man, this is the heavenly image of the resurrected christ, after his transformation b/c he was taken up in glory, and understand...WE WILL BE LIKE HIM. have you never read of the glory associated with the new covenant??
