This single was pretty refreshing in the early 2000's when pop-punk, nu-Metal and rap-rock were topping the charts. I love how low-gain this performance is; very punk rock in its own right. Singer reminds me so much of a young Mick Jager here.
So many good bands back then. Hives, Strokes, Vines, White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys... the list goes on. The whole of pop culture shifted towards guitar oriented music in that period. It was a great time! After that came Lady Gaga and Rihanna... never thought that vanilla pop music would ever come back. I wonder if Rock music ever gets big again...
Now there’s a chap that loves America! Sweden always produces the best art The Hives, Ingmar Bergman etc! AMERICA AND HIVES BFFS 4-EVA! MWAH! CHEF’S KISS! BRING THIS ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM BACK!

Conan always had the best bands! Miss Conan's old late nite spot on NBC. Best bands, best late nite band The Max Weinberg 7 & the BEST comedy bits & sketches! Miss the old Coco shows. This was a stellar live performance!
I'd say it's a coin toss between Conan and Letterman for best musical guests/performances. Just sad nowadays with the death of conventional TV, that bands don't get national/international exposure like this anymore. Cheers!
The dichotomy of matching suits and ties, while playing aggressive 60's garage punk, is without a doubt a throwback to the Jam's first album. They do it well, and with their own voice.
I saw this guys play at Madison Square Garden in I want to say 2010? For some reason they were touring with Maroon 5. it was kind of sad because they were playing while a bunch of soccer moms were getting seated for maroon 5 with the lights on. they still rocked it out, but I felt bad for them that they didn't have a better MSG moment. amazing band
Notice how they are are unique in the sense that they dont boost the guitars at the chorus. They're just as loud in the verses. Only difference is the energy they bring to each part. AMZING
@@spurv Yeah, but maybe they really just meant the volume, the pedal seems to be set roughly at unity gain, which means the volumes match, just the sound changes a bit.
@@spurv I have no idea what you're on about, It isn't noticeably louder. Are you playing electric guitar? I do and I have pedals and crap and a rough idea of how they behave in different situations, his sound is rather clean(ish), meaning if you boost that it will get drastically louder and that doesn't happen here, so all he probably does is providing a little more saturation and compression.
This is such a fun band. Would love to see them live. Yes I know they were more than inspired by Mick and Keith but they’re just a fun rock and roll band.
The lead singer looks and moves like Mick Jagger (ouch, not that stupid song please), that's why people go about it so much. Because the band doesnt even sound like the Stones that much. The Stones were a Blues rock band, these guys are Garage rock/punk, they sound way more like The Troggs or The Small Faces or The Ramones.
Having seen them twice in the past week, I can confidently say that, 20+ years after this performance originally aired, they are still the best live band on the planet. Hope you get to check them out soon!
@@superads91They're straight up hardcore in their earlier years, no Small Faces or Ramones... Sweden had a strong 60s garage rock scene, that's their influence. More The Sonics, Music Machine...

Man when the guitarist tries to look cool spinning the guitar around his head and the strap flies off at the end 😂 (could have ended way worse, gotta have those strap locks!)
I was watching this the night it came on. Instant fan. Instantly sold 💯. They’re so good. Glad they’re still around but something happened to the bass player.
That’s a frontman who understood the assignment
If Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop had a son...
Ayy!!!!
And that son then bummed Alfred Hitchcock.
For real.

Yep and Countdown to Shutdown is belting.
the new bassist kinda looks like conan lmao

When the guitar spin move fails but actually makes the performance better…
The guitar dropping to the floor actually coincided with the last note. Amazing! I love how Niklas just smiled and owned it.
I almost thought he did it on purpose. But I saw their jools performance and it was perfect. I'm still not sure.
So good that any musician feels this painful if ever not containing this new direction and knowing it.
the "older the better" band. Still on high energy on 2023
Can't believe I forgot about this ridiculously excellent song for a few years.
